True that, but I think it is a little too mysterious for Sombra. I mean, we don't know ANYTHING about him. The background isn't all that important (although nice to have) since, as you said, it adds mystery. But, there isn't enough information about his motives. And again, I haven't watched anything Batman related (I should get a life), and from your description I'm guessing that not all of the Jokers' goals were explained either, but the Jokers' characters make up for it. It is obvious that Joker is supposed to be mysterious, hence his entire make-up and "joker" business. I guess Sombra can be a bit mysterious, too, looking at how he was designed and developed, but it would have been great if he said something other than, "What? No!" and actually said something like, "I'm gonna take over and I'm taking all your virgins huehue" ..... Okay maybe not that, but yeah. But then, of course, "Sombra" means shadow. So I guess it'll be alright for him to be more unknown.

It's still taking over, though. Why does he want to take over Equestria? Why does he want to corrupt everything? We can imply that Sunset Shimmer wants to for revenge, because she apparently didn't get things her way (and I wish this was elaborated, as well). But, why does Sombra want to? Does he hate the crystal ponies? Does he want respect? What exactly does he want?

Never watched Adventure Time, either. I like Sunset as a villiain better because the viewer has a reason to hate her. To elaborate, we know Sunset. We know her personality: she's a total prick. Just by her personality, we dislike her. As for Sombra, taking what you told me about this Sauron thing, I guess we have a good reason to dislike him, too. However, there just isn't enough information. He wants to take over a small empire and force everyone into slavery. ..........okay? And? It just isn't explained what Sombra really wants to do.

Well, I never watched/read the LOTR series so I'm not familiar with Sauron. I was just taking it from what I already do know. And take into account that this is supposed to be a kids' show. Adults can understand plenty without too much info. How about the kids? Sure, it's not important to know exactly, but it'd be nice. Sunset just seems overall more well developed (character-wise. Sombra had more of a background story)

I almost never go there, but when I do, I just enjoy the silliness. It's always got nice wallpapers if I feel like changing one

A little too violent for my tastes (pony-violence, that is), but it was alright. SWAG.MOV was a little too sad, though. Now Dashie can't fly Q_Q

Not the worst major villain, imo. While there was a little more plot developed around Sombra, he was barely shown and didn't do much on his own. I think Sombra was worse.

Maybe I should consider buying a t-shirt, too. Only pony stuff I've got is one RD cutie mark fridge magnet :\

Not really. As much as I enjoyed the movie itself, it was quite poorly done in many aspects. I mean, it was alright, but some parts of it were just...sudden. I don't think a show could justify any of those. I think it'd be better to just have it all-ponies ^^
