Scootaloo being either disabled or orphaned (or related to Rainbow Dash) is a VERY popular fanfic.  However, Hasbro has specifically said all 3 are wrong.  Officially, S is just slow to learn, like Fluttershy was.

I am hoping for more backstory on her in season 5.  IDK why, but almost nobody seems to think she might be related to Fluttershy (did see 1 story, S was secretly her illegitimate child)

I do know about Scoots being nor orphan (she has a home as seen in Flight To The Finish), and related to Dashie was obvious, but I don't recall an official word from the staff that she's not disabled.

  2. Yeah, I finished it a week ago, it was amazing and I loved Nixy as a character and her relationships with the canon characters. It spot of one of the most well known and popular pony fics is well deserving  ;)

So I recently decided to start realng a semi-popular fan fiction called Past Sins. I have not been able to out this down. It is a long fan fiction, the size of a chapter book. And it has kept my focus for a few days straight. This is already one of my favorite books I have ever read and I feel the need to fan boy about it.

Had anyone else read this book and fanboys it like I do?

Well, I actually fanboy over All American Girl instead

  3. I see Brucie from GTA4 as a prideful brony, and Deadpool, because..... Deadpool  :P

Ed from Ed, Edd n Eddy. He's beyond clingy when it comes to animals, and if I remember correctly he's forced to watch the same shows his sister Sarah does sometimes. I can just imagine him seeing the show for the first time and almost instantly go mad(der) from the cuteness   :squee:

Seriously? why he would want to be a brony, when he's already a pony?

    SAME VOICE ACTOR DUDES  :yay:

And Raven being one is hilariously clever seeing as she shares the same va as a character from FiM.

YAY, TWILY  :yay: . Robin is also a Pretty Pretty Pegasus equivalent of brony, and his VA also voiced Danny, a boy from the G1 show

  4. I can't really see that happening.

If Hasbro really wanted something extra to target the younger end of the audience, the logical thing to do would be to introduce some new filly/colt characters (a few years younger than the CMCs) and their parents as side characters in MLP:FIM and then spin them off into their own show with, say, five minute episodes. It would be perfectly possible to make such a show fun and successful. Witness Peppa Pig.

In fact, with the Cake family, they already have good candidates. This would give them a chance to include Pinkie Pie as an occasional cameo, who has plenty of potential for amusing children. Then introduce a few other families with fillies and colts in the same age bracket to interact with. It could be very successful with a young audience.

If, once or twice in every episode there was a glimpse of a mane 6 pony or fan favourite character (Vinyl, Octavia, Derpy, etc) in the background walking past, or enjoying a milkshake at the Cake's café, then bronies would probably lap it up too. ("Did you spot her? Did you spot her? She's at 3:51 in the top left corner of the screen! OMG! It's Derpy! And she's eating a muffin! Totes adorbs!")

That reminds me, Faust wanted for the CMCs having their own spin-off series. I don't see that happening anymore, since they seem to be mentally more mature.

Anyway, if a new G3 series would happen, I doubt I would watch it, but it would be fun for the rants of the fandom for it  . I'm still curious why they are still making G3 merchandise during G4  , seems they can still make some profit out of it

  5. So I was reading the Japan exclusive manga, and so far have only read through the character intros and their corresponding comic strips when one particular line in Fluttershy's strip stood out to me. I am probably the least confident in my translation of that strip as it used some vernacular not found in any dictionaries and I had to rely on some translation software for parts of it, which I'm weary about, but Fluttershy's closing line came back as "Rainbowdash, don't act like in those fighting movies". I could share my translation for the whole strip if you're really curious, but that sentence got me thinking that if there were action movies in Equestria they would be a little more interesting.

One main objection, in addition to this manga being regional tripe that probably shouldn't be considered canon, is that I don't recall Equestria being advanced enough to have movies, but since I've seen some neat technology randomly appear in episodes, I'll let that one slide and this topic is really just for fun anyways. I think fighting movies and action movies with guns could make for an interesting topic of discussion. So, what are your thoughts? Which species do you think would make the best action stars, other than Alicorns? I bet Unicorns wouldn't need guns, and Pegasi can fly while Earth Ponies have super strength. I now turn this completely random discussion over to you.

The comics also made a reference to action movies. Nightmare Rarity mentioned some "Sylvester Stallion". I don't think I need to mention whose pony parody is  :P

  6. For the question: Will I buy the new issue?

    NOPE!

Mainly because I buy my comics in volumes! Because this way I can get an entire arc cheaper than if I went out and bought all the comics individually. That and Trade-Paperbacks and Hardcovers are more durable than single issues.

I'm not sure if they'll release volumes of special issues like that and the annuals, but yeah, it's far cheaper and easier to find whole volumes than individual issues. Barnes n' Nobles has all of them most of the time

  7. I started hating going out on trips EVERY FREAKING TIME THERE ARE NO ACADEMIC ACTIVITIES  . Oh my God, I'm here, killing myself at my university, and the thing I want the most is chill out when I'm free, problem is, I still live with my parents, they ALWAYS, want to drag me around their trips. Why I started hating them? Got several reasons:

    1-Beaches, always beaches  >_>

    2-Poor touristic infrastructure

3-Making luggage, moving your things, making sure you don't forget anything AND making sure YOU DON'T LEAVE ANYTHING EACH STOP

4-spending a minimum of 4 hours on poor conditioned highways

5- It's the God forsaken Venezuela, I'd rather stay at home than risk my hard earned things being robbed, AND, getting killed

6-We always stop at my dad's hometown once a year at least, to spend time with my "lovely" family of Venezuelan rednecks, stay at my aunt's house because it's just a town that the only things that are well kept are the bars, no internet, the lights are out, the heat is high, and there's nothing to do there  :okiedokielokie:

  8. I would love a semi-rural settlement where I'm surrounded by mountains and rivers, but also close enough of civilization where I can get access of internet, tv, malls, movie theaters, etc. And people who mind their own business, and the crime rate is low enough to walk around without feeling a constant paranoia

  9. Generaly, Friendship is Magic is (or was) aimed at young girls 2-11 years old. But with later seasons of the show, It seems that's changed a bit. those 2-11 year old girls who have been with the show since 2010 are now around 6-14 years old. A third of that audience is already becoming interested in more complex shows. The first season was pretty down to earth, and generally lacked characters acting cynical or snarky. Plus, it was the most SoL season of the show yet. Season 2 added a bit of snark and cynicism, granted it led to a few infamous episodes like Putting Your Hoof Down. Season 3 introduced some darker concepts like Dark magic, and Sombera's reign. As well as having Twilight ascend to Princesshood. Season 4 ramped up the show's worldbuilding and adventure aspects much more, and toyed around with some mature storytelling in a few episodes. And Season 5 looks to introduce a lot of travelling as well as more surreal elements.

It seems the show is aging with its audience as the seasons go by, while still staying true to its roots and entertaining younger girls as well. This is actually similar to what ReBoot did with its later seasons. So how do you think Season 5 will grow? This is just wishful thinking, but I would like the writers to experiment with the concept of death, provided they can at least get a TV-Y7 rating.

I've notice too, since here in Latinamerica, episodes re runs are inconsistent, so we can watch a S4 episode alongside a previous season episode, so, for me is easier for me to notice the change in dynamic each subsequent season. It's specially evident with CMCs episodes, as they started with silly mischief and attempts to get their cutie marks, to more grown-up problems like envy, serious insecurities, independence... now that I think of it, those plots sounds like more preteen problems instead of kid problems   . That's being the main reason I made this thread

  10. I read All American Girl fic, and since then, I've been curious about her, she loathes her missing older sister for choosing her adoptive human family, over her biological one (which Rarity happens to be their mother). I can see why the author choose her as one of Rarity's children, of all the characters Tabitha ever voiced, Minty is the one who sounds most like Rarity
