  1. Assuming we're talking FiM, pre-epilogue I headcanoned that, Twilight is straight, because Flash Sentry. Rarity is damn straight, do I need explaining? Fluttershy was at first not sure, though after She Talks to Angel, straight. Pinkie Pie was not sure, but assumed straight until proven otherwise. Rainbow Dash I liked to think as straight, because I didn't want to go with the stereotype that she's gay because of tomboyish attitude and rainbow mane. Applejack I liked to think she's gay, because I like the idea of a country farmer girl being into the ladies. After the epilogue, the only one that changed was RD, who lets just say it's strongly implied she's gay. And, I'm quite honestly just fine with that. It's funny, I didn't really ship Appledash (or anything for that matter) before, but now oh boy do I ship them hard lol.
  2. hey just wanted to say you post interesting comments, I like how you keep an open mind with these things such as the new pony life. anyway, have a nice day/evening/whatever your time zone

  3. well, I'm not going to shoot this ponylife down just yet, I admit I'm not a fan of the artstyle/animation, but knowing how I was with steven universe and later dragon prince I'm sure I'll get used to it. I do hope it's well made otherwise though, at least we'll have the same voice actors.
  4. The show helped me during a difficult time in my life. So, yes, it was worth it. Interestingly, at first I was unsure how to feel about the epilogue, and I was one who thought it felt kinda like fanfiction. But after watching it a second time, and after the shock left, I actually love it now and cry everytime. I plan on watching the entire series soon (+ECG+comics+years worth of fanworks), just kinda hard to bring myself to do so because I know I'm going to get the feels.
  5. It started out as Rainbow Dash and somehow evolved into Applejack. Just something about the hard working blonde country girl that's attractive to me. But Rainbow definitely has the badass factor I find attractive in ladies going for her. But they're all beautiful in their own way.
  6. I never really shipped anything, except Lyrabon casually.... . They are my two favorite characters, at first I was like "WAT" but after a while I got on board. Why? Not quite sure really, I just like them and they seemed so happy together (well, heavily implied anyway), I love me some lesbian mares, and if they're happy, then I'm happy. Just wish we could have seen some proper team dynamics between them. Maybe in the upcoming Season 10 comics.
  7. Honestly, as much as I love MLP:FiM I'm glad they ended it when they did, better end it in a good note than have it go on forever and ever and loose it's charm.
  8. Well, something I would have liked to see, is an episode where Applejack and Rainbow Dash work together towards something for a change. We get a glimpse of their possible team dynamics in "A trivial pursuit" when Twilight says, and I quote "team appledash is basically unstoppable". We never really get to see this, as far as I can remember all the AJ/RD centric episodes focus on their rivalry against each other, and not what they could accomplish and what dynamics they would have if they share the same goal and work together to achieve this. Here's hoping the comics Season 10 will explore this. ed/toadd: So, idk maybe, "Team Appledash" - RD and AJ find they are basically unstoppable when they place their rivalry aside and work together for a change. ...I'm not so good with synopsis..
  9. Well, I adore AJ (if it's not already obvious by my icon), she and RD are tied for my favorite ponies. I suppose she's not as "exciting" as some of the other ponies, but that's exactly why I like her, she's humble and mature and down to earth.
  10. hmm, I suppose this could be the case.. I don't know I didn't think of the obvious lol yea, something like that was what I was going with.. Interesting about the bat vs bird wings. TIL
  11. hmm, I agree with @Adderbane in that echolocation isn't necessarily magical, also night vision isn't necessarily magical either; but I suppose those are a possibility. I was thinking maybe something with a sort of shadow magic? Not evil magic that is, just something to do with shadows and darkness and the night. I really wish they'd show us more of them. The only thing we know is that some are part of Princess Luna's Night Guard, and possibly they traditionally live deep inside the mountains (something Faust said way back). I've got a whole head canon surrounding them and their culture, but I wish we could have some proper canon also..
  12. This is something I've been wondering about recently. We know that earth ponies have magic that helps them tend to crops and animals, Pegasus ponies have magic that helps them control the weather, unicorns have magic that they can control directly. We also know that bat ponies are canon as seen in "Luna Eclipsed" and the alternate Nightmare Moon timeline of "The Cutie Re-Mark". So, what would be your guesses at to what magic bat ponies might have? I really wished we could know more about these elusive equines.
  13. no, it was definitely RD. Derpy was just caught in the crossfire. It is. I don't know why everyone thinks it was Derpy that yelled Twilight and "sacrificed herself".... Derpy was just in the wrong place at the wrong time. THIS SO MUCH. This is what really happened guys, if you get the chance to watch the film again, pay attention here and it will be clear this is what happened.....
  14. Personally I think other than Rarity and Twi there's no information to base a reasonable guess as to the romance tendencies of the other Mane 4. In my own headcanon I see AJ as gay, but that's just my headcanon, mostly because I find it would be interesting for her character. Now if I had to guess as to the romance of AJ, I would guess her gay. But I know that has no realistic ground to it, since it's never been dealt with or hinted at either way. By more mature topics, I mean more overall mature themes. Think Legend of Korra, or The Last Airbender. But it is a young kids show and that will never happen.
  15. Honestly, one thing I hope for is bat ponies. They've been shown to be canon, and I'd like to know more about them.
  16. well, "The Perfect Pear" pretty much implies very strongly you gotta be not paying attention kind of implying that AJ's parents are, in fact, dead. How it came to happen we will never know. But I like to think it had something to do with a journey they took at some point, something happened that killed them both at the same time. I kinda like to think of AJ's reaction to Apple Bloom leaving in "Somepony to watch over me" has more to do than just being an overprotective big sister (which in itself I like to think is because of her feeling she needs to be a mother figure and take care of AB in their parents absence). Her parents left to sell stuff at some godforsaken town and got killed along the way by something.
  17. @Babyyoshi309 ha! you're right! huh, yea.. I can totally see this. She's grown quite a bit over the seasons, so I imagine she won't be as reluctant as before, but I can still see this tendency playing out. This is actually very close to my headcanon scenario.
  18. Meh, I could go on responding to all the comments, but I'll just make my own post: Realistically? There would probably be no romantic arc with RD. Romance is simply not the focus on the show. In the event there is an arc? Well, I might see her trying to be cool around him (yes, him). Showing off her awesomeness, perhaps being a little awkward behind the scenes, and getting teased by the other 5. But later she becomes more relaxed and is, well, herself around him. And about the boyishness, just think of the many tomboy women out there that are in relationships with men. It's not that shocking really.
  19. well, the show is all about breaking stereotypes. So the hell with "traditional roles". There's plenty of tomboyish women out there in the real world that are very much straight, and plenty of straight men who are equally attracted to this type of woman. Really, I think it's simplifying RD to assume she's not straight based on her strong personality and lack of overt interest in stallions/getting-along-better-with-mares/wingboner-with-Pinkie-(seriously?). None of that has anything to do with sexuality.
  20. oh for the love of Celestia, the whole point of gay is that it's two males or two females, regardless of whatever their personality might be like. There's plenty of tomboyish women that are very much straight. and for the record I don't see RD as gay. Being a tomboy and having a rainbow mane has nothing to do with who she would like to romance with.
  21. Yea! Glad I'm not the only one I kinda wish the show was more mature and could explore such topics more openly, not only sexuality but other adult themes. Might make for some interesting surprises. But I'll just have to conform with various quality fan works and my own personal headcanon haha
  22. The more I think of it, the more I like her. ....new member in my best pony list for me! I want to see more post-movie Tempest.
  23. Eh, you're reading way too much into it. But whatever flies your fancy.. Yea, it's kinda lame imo. I like the ponies to have more depth of character and a big part of the show is breaking stereotypes and stuff. IMO RD is very much straight, albeit a big tomboy. If anypony in the Mane 6 is gay I can see it being AJ. With her being the traditional country girl one might normally associate with being straight. Because I hate stereotypes!
  24. Well my little ponies, it's been a while since I've been here (Jan 24th 2015 according to my profile). I just came by to say how damn awesome this episode was! FINALLY! I DID MY WAITING! SEVEN YEARS OF IT! but yea, it was a great episode with lots of new canon in it. (and oh boy do I love my canon).
