      youre right, you weren't obligated. that is what i am saying. look at what you are doing not what they are not doing. be positive! you are being a good friend right? well think of that. but getting all down and giving up wont help anypony not even yourself. a persons heart is the most precious thing they have, giving up will hurt yours. dont give up! Reach out to friends! and find more new ones! thats something MLP teaches is that having friends helps more than anything....
