I get the feeling people rallied around Fluttershy due to her near-early demise in the Lunagate scandal. Eh, what can you do - I'd rather Rarity lose fair than Fluttershy lose cheating, even though Rarity is always the best waifu and I would've preferred to see her win it all <3

Nahh. Someone created accounts to stuff Luna's ballot box so she'd win, and she beat Fluttershy.
Mods caught the person, though, and the votes were removed from Luna's vote total and Fluttershy walked away with the narrow victory.
