I had a teacher like that. He was like " You guys don't wanna listen to that... *puts on a random band* Much better". My school over the intercoms loved playing "It's Friday" It was horrid.

That happened a lot I think in cooking class and english during high school, also during english I recall our teacher going on long rants about unrelated shit for the whole period on numerous occasions instead of teaching us anything.

I've wondered if that had anything to do with the fact that only 50% of Grade 12's graduated the year I did.....

Don't know why anyone would hate you, you're never rude to anyone from what I've seen, unless there are people who just hate anyone who loves Rarity. I kinda feel like being more vocal about my fanboying of Rarity now, just to see if I get loads of hate mail, for the lulz.
