Was walking through the toy aisle of Walmart. Looking at pony stuff. Saw a collection box of small pony figurines... Someone had ripped open the corner and stole the Flurry Heart figure...

Indeed, but try being related to it!
One day, while out shopping, my "father" (it's a long story, don't ask) and I were browsing the toy isle. I had to be somewhere around 10 years old. I was deeply into Batman at the time. I found a Batman action figure I wanted. He didn't quite understand why I wanted it, so he RIPPED OPEN the cardboard to pull out the toy and the accessories, just so I could get a better look at it! He said "Are you sure this is what you want?" ...Well gosh "dad", even if it wasn't, how can I say no after you just destroyed the packaging?!

I'm just glad he isn't in my life very often. That's one thing I'd like to avoid. Ironically, he use to be an officer. You'd think he'd know better then that. What ever happened to "You break, you buy"?

@Samurai Equine OMG, that must’ve been embarrassing. Jeez!

It's a prime example of why parents need to be on the same note, even if they're divorced and one of them is distant. My mother would have slapped my hand (and my butt) something fierce if I had tried to do that as a kid! And then here comes "dad", ripping unpurchased packages without a care. My eyes must have been as wide as saucers and my jaw on the floor that day.
...We still bought it. I wasn't about to leave without doing the honest thing. Still, can you image if he tried to do to entice me towards other toys? If you're gonna do that around me, you better have a big bank account, or I'll give you a reason to stop opening stuff like that.
