  1. “I have heard there are troubles of more than one kind,
Some come from ahead and some come from behind.
But I’ve bought a big bat, I’m all ready you see
Now my troubles are going to have troubles with me.”

    - Dr. Seuss

If anyone thinks they’re going to drive out the love and friendship of this place, they’ll have to go through me first.

So you can take your precious crusade and shove it. You’ve done nothing good here. You are the end result of “he who fights monsters”, and you ought to be ashamed. And if you’re not, you better grow a sense of self-awareness.

      Yeah, funny, ain't it?

Ignacio Zaragoza was the general that lead the army on that battle held at Puebla. But I have heard people think he's something like George Washington for us, which is kinda funny, since Zaragoza wasn't even part of the plot held by the guys who started the independence war back in 1810, and neither was he one of the guys who signed the declaration of independency in 1821. But of course is not something people from other countries are suposed to know. They have their own history to worry about. And honestly, some mexicans ignore some of these facts as well, because history down here gets a bit confusing with the lots of wars that were held during the first 100 years of Mexico's history as a country. We even held wars just after other wars. Like the cake wars (or pastry wars). The cake wars was another conflict held with France, but it was way before the Puebla battle (the 5 de mayo one). The cake wars happened because Santa Anna's troops ate some pastries and cakes from a french bakery and never paid them back in 1832. Then in 1838 Monsieur Remontel contacted french authorites and they asked for 600000 pesos or else, they would take whatever they deemed appropiate by force to make up for our debt (which as you can tell, was overly priced). Back then pesos were almost the same value of the american dollar. So france made a blockade at the southern ports, Veracruz' included, and we had a war. I said it was just after another war, since 2 years before, in 1836, the war with texas had finished. You know, the war in which Texas joined the USA. That one happened just before the cake war. :ButtercupLaugh:

So back on Zaragoza. He deflected the french attack at Puebla, but he had nothing to do with independence. He was not even a diplomat for the matter.

Yeah! The more we learn about each other, the more understanding and empathy we generate.

And when you empathize with people, the better you treat them and everyone around you. :rarity:

I suppose. I kind of suck at empathizing. But it does make sense. And honestly, the best way I can figure out for getting better at it is trying to be around people instead of just hiding in my dumb troll nest :Tempest:

So hey, it's fun to talk with you. I'm hoping maybe you can share your knowledge with me next time? If you want to, that is :squee:

I'm hitting the hay. Goodnight ShadO.

@TomDaBombMLP I’ll be honest, even the politicians I really hate I don’t think are actually “evil”. Ignorant? Sure. Prideful? Oh yeah. But they’re not really any different than the flawed loudmouths on the Internet. Just fighting over what is “right”.

But for heaven’s sake, can we not tear each other limb from limb over it?

@Jesse Terrence Sure hon! It’s been nice talking to you! You have a good night!

I'm sad that a lot of great friends are probably gone forever.
