  1. Oh, good, I was HOPING they wouldn't leave it hanging to be forever more bickered upon. Still would have probably tweaked the episode a bit to make it seem a bit less hard to take seriously. But that's just my opinion. 83 Like how Celestia and Nightmare Moon's fight in the show was rather underwhelming. I like to pretend there was more to it. With this episode I might just pretend the opposite. XD
  2. Yay!! I got like 13+ streetpass hits on my 3DS at the mall.

  3. *looks it up* "the works of a particular author or artist that are recognized as genuine" Hmm okay, then it IS by definition canon. It's a genuine episode. But it doesn't really feel like a genuine story, but rather as I've said, a big elaborate joke. It's like a seesaw. On one side is coherence and logic and the other side is fun and entertainment. They put so much into the entertainment factor that it's gone off the rails and it now hard to believe. I can't take it seriously, and I feel like it doesn't want me to take it seriously. Which is unfortunate because there's so much in it that I like and believe should be put onscreen.
  4. Who said anything about not liking it? I loved the whole thing, but I still can't take it seriously. It felt like I was just part of an elaborate inside joke the entire time. Like a parody.
  5. Thank you for your post. Everything you said is exactly what I want people to think about. Yes it's an actual episode, but the whole thing was a self-referential joke. Yes Cranky and Matilda got married, but Vinyl and Tavi pretty much drift raced through town on a friggin' Wubmobile. Despite enjoying it from beginning to end, I don't really see how this can be taken at face value. In the end it's not too important, but it's something I'm interested in.
  6. My point is that yes it's an official episode from the show, but is it really to be taken seriously if no one making it took it seriously? If it all one big crazy joke, is it really canon? What if nothing in it comes back again? That was sort of my reaction to it: "OMG THIS IS THE FUNNIEST THING EVER!!" And then when it was over I took a deep breathe and said, "That was INSANE and I can't take it seriously at all."
  7. I flicked a few drops of water onto a lightbulb that had been on for a while. I thought it would sizzle. The lightbulb exploded. XD
  8. Thank you for the insightful response. I was looking for more in-depth thoughts like this. It IS awesome!! I've got to be honest really, while I watch the show now for its own merits, when I first started watching it was the FANDOM that kept me around. The show was fine, but didn't engage me in earlier days. So yeah, I'm happy this episode exists. I just feels really cool sitting here watching a fandom/creator relationship I've never seen anywhere else.
  9. Because it's a big crazy celebration nudge wink joke/gift episode from the creators to the fans. But again I'd like to emphasize that I'm completely neutral in this. I thought it was fun. I'm just wondering how it will be taken and treated for the duration of the fandom and the rest of the show.
  10. Oh yeah it totally had a plot, but it was still unadulterated madness.Tavi and Vinyl bust through the front of their house on a friggin wubmobile, literally jumping a shark plushie in the street before scooping up every background character in the show and carrying them to the gazebo, and then crash because they ran over the Twilicane. That sounds like My Little Pony mad libs!! XD
  11. Same here!! XDI'm just genuinely curious about whether or not headcanons can even be destroyed by an episode like this. If it's all one big cut loose, goof-off episode, does anything in it matter? I don't ship either of those anyway, but I think the Lyra/BonBon one could have been handled better. Vinyl and Octavia live together, but that's all that was said, so people can still do whatever they want. But BOTH sides say that the friendship thing for LyraBon confirms their headcanons. The people for it say it was emphasized because the creators were trying to be really blatant (like, "WINK WINK ITS CANON, WE JUST CANT SAY SO") and the people against it will take the line at face value. I probably would have just had them hang out, and people can just draw their own conclusions like they always do.
  12. Hahaha!! Well THAT'S direct! I love it!! XD Makes me wonder what non-fandom savvy viewers think about that line... "Mommy, what's 'canon'?"
  13. What was the clue for Steven Universe? I didn't watch it. Did the creators just come right out and say, "this is non-canon"? I feel like people think I'm trying to start something, but I'm really not. I've genuinely never seen an episode like this in any fandom I've been in, and I'm not sure how they're typically handled.
  14. Sorry, I'm seriously not trying to start a war. Honest. I had fun with the episode, and if it's canon, it's canon No headcanons of mine were messed up. XD I've just never been been around in a fandom when a crazy, celebratory, fandom love letter like this has aired. Are all crazy episodes like this taken as fact? I heard something about a really crazy episode of Stargate from someone...
  15. Oh, yeah it's a real episode from the production crew. I've just heard of "joke" episodes done in shows before. They're real episodes, but are they really canon? Is it really canon if no one making it is taking it seriously? I mean they had a literal "jump the shark" moment. What if none of this is ever mentioned again? XD Like, "Well that was fun, but now back to our actual show!"
  16. I can live with it either way, but I'm curious about what others think. I view this episode as a gift and a big nudge-wink joke between the creators and the viewers. Like any gift, it can be used how the receiver desires. And like any joke, it can be taken with a grain of salt. It's 22 minutes of fan service. But it's still an official episode. So does everything in it need to be taken as fact? Or can it be completely disregarded by those that wish to keep it separate? Can it be both? What do you guys think? EDIT: I feel like people might think I'm trying to start something, but I'm really not. I've genuinely never seen an episode like this in any fandom I've ever been in, and I'm not sure how they're typically handled. When the entire staff throws their hands up and says, "Let's go CRAZY!" what is the standard reaction?
  17. LOL!! Well none of mine!! XDD I'm perfectly satisfied (if a little bit tired after the bat$#!% insanity). I had fun!! And that's exactly what this was for. This was just a gift made just for us. It made me laugh and I loved seeing all the references. I especially liked existential Gummy and the blink-and-you'll-miss-it moment where Vinyl and Octavia literally "jump the shark" in the Wubmobile. XD
  18. Phew, okay watched like 7 blind reactions to the 100th episode. I think it's time for a break. I can only take so much chaos for one day. XDD

  19. I'm going to to think of this episode as a gift. Because that's what it is. Something fun they put together to formally acknowledge the fandom. And I think it can be taken or left from the canon as each person decides, so it really ruins nothing for anyone. Just sit back, relax, and laugh at the self-referential humor. XD
  20. Hahaha!! OH WOW!! Now THAT is pure, unfiltered fanservice!! <3 Sure not the most organized bit of storytelling, but that's OKAY. The idea was to get all of the BG characters into the spotlight and make us laugh it was GREAT!! It was supposed to be fun, and it was a lot of fun!! XD
  21. Finally got to sit and watch the 100th episode!! ALL OF THE LOL!! XDD

  22. Ah, okay, I gotcha!! I thought that's what you might have meant after I posted. And of that note I really need to see the Cowboy Bebop movie. Didn't know it was R rated though. The show didn't seem very R rated.
  23. Everfree isn't evil, just dangerous and untamed. And the Shadow Bolts don't exist. They were just constructs created by Nightmare Moon to try and temp Rainbow Dash.
