I didn’t mean any offense, it’s just that myths are narratives which play allegorical roles in societies, endorsed a lot of times by religion and are considered true accounts of distant past. I thought the Bible fell into the category

I see your intent. Just giving a head’s up. This is what you get if you look up the definition of “myth”…

Many people are going to assume you’re using that second definition.

The Bible definitely has a lot of allegories IN it. Jesus told parables all the time. And there’s a really good one that Nathan tells to David to get him to see that he’s done something wrong.

I’m curious about something: is there any mention of horses in the Bible :mlp_huh:? I known the King James Version of the Bible translated the creature “re’em” as unicorn

Well there are the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse and their steeds. But let’s see if there’s more:

    *opens Bible app, searches “horse”*

“Do you give the horse its strength or clothe its neck with a flowing mane?”
    ‭‭Job‬ ‭39‬:‭19‬ ‭NIV‬‬

“At Your rebuke, O God of Jacob, Both the chariot and horse were cast into a dead sleep.”
    ‭‭Psalms‬ ‭76‬:‭6‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

“The horse is prepared for the day of battle, But deliverance is of the Lord.”
    ‭‭Proverbs‬ ‭21‬:‭31‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

“Then let this robe and horse be delivered to the hand of one of the king’s most noble princes, that he may array the man whom the king delights to honor. Then parade him on horseback through the city square, and proclaim before him: ‘Thus shall it be done to the man whom the king delights to honor!’ ”
    ‭‭Esther‬ ‭6‬:‭9‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

That’s probably enough for now. Why do you ask?

  3. Oh no… I just found out about this on accident via a Twitter post.

Jeez… I haven’t even been using the forums lately, so this is a terrible way to come back. But I feel compelled to offer my condolences.

I didn’t talk to @Jeric a lot over the years, but he was always very pleasant when we did chat and the effect he had on the community is incalculable. I’m sorry for everyone that’s really feeling the hurt of this loss and will pray for healing and comfort for them.

I mean, I was born in '96, my 10th birthday was in 2006, and I turned 25 this year, that's how that works I think :-P

Now that it turned 10, it's currently in its 11th year, and will turn 11 next October 3, etc

Hold on, I have to list it out…

    • Oct. 2011 - 0
    • Oct. 2012 - 1
    • Oct. 2013 - 2
    • Oct. 2014 - 3
    • Oct. 2015 - 4
    • Oct. 2016 - 5
    • Oct. 2017 - 6
    • Oct. 2018 - 7
    • Oct. 2019 - 8
    • Oct. 2020 - 9
    • Oct. 2021 - 10

Ah you’re right. I needed to see it visually. My mistake.

Wait, I'm pretty sure it turns 10, since it started in 2011. :sealed:

It was started in Oct 2011. So it would be 1 year old in Oct 2012. And so on.

It’s like my birthday. I was born in 1990, but it was December. So even though I will be 31 in December, I spend most of 2021 at 30.
