  1. My name is Amy, and I actually really love it. It's short, sweet and to the point. Not too feminine, but not masculine either. It means "beloved" and is perhaps a bit on the cutesy side, but I think it fits me regardless. It doesn't seem like something that would leave a lot of room for nicknames, but you'd be surprised.
  2. You're trying to ascribe logic to something that is completely illogical. That entire episode was filled with moments that were zany and cartoonish. That scene in particular was nothing more than a fun allusion to classics like the Looney Tunes. You can't sit and analyze it. MLP is a cartoon too. Blame Polsky. If you NEED an explanation for how she survived? Divine intervention. It's Twilight Sparkle, the element of magic and future princess of friendship. Surely the Equestrian gods were watching her closely that fateful day.
  3. Work demands that I be a morning person, so if I HAVE to get up early, I can force myself to and I usually function just fine. But I'm a night owl by choice. If I don't have any reason to wake up early the next day, I'll stay up until as late as 1 AM. I used to go even later than that, but I'm not as used to it.
  4. Nice name, junior. Welcome to the forums! :D

  5. Although I feel that this was a total "dudes only" series, I do like me a good action show, especially if it involves felines, and I'm kinda nostalgic for the SWAT Kats because I remember them fondly from back in the day. Glad to see they may be making a comeback.
  6. Winona, hands down. She's not only an insanely adorable border collie dog, but she's got utility that most of the other pets lack. She helps AJ corral other animals to keep Ponyville safe from stampedes. She is lacking in screen time compared to other pets, but I think she's made a decent impact already. Tank is my other less biased choice because he's had quite a bit of focus for a pet, and is by far one of the sweetest.
  7. Oh, look. I'm active again.

Always the flatterer, eh Cwanky? I sure missed you. :3 I'm not sure I'm always that wise, but if I were to own one particular virtue, that'd probably be it.

Well I'm just saying it as I see it honestly. Maybe its just because I see a lot of Applejack in you. Hehe "honestly."

It's funny because "honestly" is one of my most commonly used words. I don't know if it's because I'm honest or because I need to expand my vocab. I do have an inner AJ to be sure. I just need to be more energetic about working as hard as she does xD.

Lmao, I was way off. I do know of Ike and his games. I'm a huge Smash Bros fan, so there's that. I always wanted to try those because they're console games.

Agreed about Lucina. I liked her as a unit and even as a character ok. Couldn't care less about her story though. Just another Trunks (DBZ) wannabe.

Then go downloading an emulator, because even for FE veterans, is the only way because of how expensive and rare the games are. Also, fun fact, the console ones (SNES,GC/WII) are the most praised ones, but also the least accesible, either for barriers (SNES, although there is fan translation) and the formers with the rarity problem.

Tbh, Owain was the only one that i liked. He was an interesting character on a game filled with a good number of lame supports. But really, if you are...

Actually, there's a game shop by my house that has both copies, and since I own a Wii and a GameCube controller, I COULD play them. I'm pretty sure they're no more pricey than they would have been if they were new.

Lol, I didn't like Owain tbh. Too much of a goofball. xP

  11. I'm also really excited for the upcoming Korra comics. It's a keen reminder that I still need to read the ATLA comics before these ones come out. I see it as a positive thing that the series is continuing in the form of comics rather than another TV season because it grants a lot more freedom in the creativity. Maybe we'll see some even darker and more serious themes than before? Legend of Korra has already proven itself pretty progressive. I'd love to see what they have in store next, and especially if Mike DiMartino is at the helm. That's probably the best news about this - that the creators aren't just overseeing the writing, but are actually doing it. These comics are gonna be great.
  12. Where have I been all of this time? There's still so much Appletastic awesomeness in this thread. You guys rock. I'm just overjoyed. <3
  13. They're both top tier outfits, so you really can't go wrong with either one. :3 I have a slight preference for her new outfit because it's beautiful but still retains her "bad girl" image to a degree. Her new boots are just too cool. I also like the fact that her legs are covered this time. It makes for a more unique look than the other mane girls. So is anyone else cautiously optimistic about Sunset Shimmer's future? We know she'll be in the next Equestria Girls movie and is almost undoubtedly the mane star, but she may end up in Friendship is Magic one day too. The following Q&As took place at this year's San Diego Comic Con: Q: If Sunset Shimmer was an element of harmony, what would she be? A: It has been discussed before. Meghan thinks its empathy. Q: Are we going to run into the original sunset shimmer human? A: Perhaps Q: Will they bring Sunset Shimmer back into the pony world? A: They have played around with the idea. Maybe! That's lot of "thinking/talking about it" and "maybe" replies! I'd like to think the writers have some plans for the character, but I can never be too sure. Let's just stay hopeful I guess. ^^

  15. No offense fandom, but Colgate is one really lame name. She's Minuette, and that name is better by leaps and bounds. Naming a pony after a brand of toothpaste... yeah, no copyright issues there. Not to mention her mane really doesn't look any more like toothpaste than say, Lyra's.
  16. The show has continued to deliver positive messages and empower many people while also alleviating depression and/or other negative emotions in its viewers. You hear stories all of the time about how FiM has impacted people in positive ways. I don't care what a few symbols mean in the grand scheme of things because overall the show has done a lot of good for people. Yes, there is some rather curious symbolism here and there. Heck, the all-seeing eye was in pretty plain sight in the Family Appreciation Day episode, just to name one example, but that doesn't automatically mean there's some sinister plot being initiated by the illuminati or some cult. And believe me, I'm probably a certified conspiracy nut, yet I don't let that harm my enjoyment of this particular series. You always have to think about the context in which the symbols are being used, and take it all with a grain of salt regardless. Twilight Sparkle's cutie mark doesn't bear that much of a resemblance to any pentagrams that I know of, not that I am by any means an expert on the subject. As for Celestia's all-seeing eye, I can't name off the top of my head which episode(s) it was, but I know for a fact that both of her eyes have been visible before, so I definitely don't think there's anything intentionally nefarious going on with her design either. And while owls symbolize a lot of things, one of the things they represent is wisdom, so it just makes for a good pet choice for Twilight because of that particular reason. Let us also revel in the fact that all the potentially satanic looking characters like Tirek, Chrysalis, Sombra, and Demon Shimmer got vanquished/reformed by the heroes. Sure, it doesn't necessarily prove anything, but it's comforting all the same. But to properly answer the question, if I was somehow convinced that the show was truly incorporating some dark symbolism into the show and I had cause to believe that it was done on purpose with malevolent intentions, then yeah, I suppose I'd steer clear from the show and reevaluate life.... yeah, let's just hope that's not the case. But think about the different writers, the voice talents, the storyboard artists and anyone else who's had a hand in making this amazing show. Do they really seem like they're trying to indoctrinate anyone with the product?
  17. This poster disappoints me a bit. It's basically confirming that Starlight Glimmer is getting a reform if she's right there front and center with a smiling Twilight and the rest of the Mane Six. (Sorry, but there's no way that that's Sunset Shimmer as much as I'd mark out if it were.) Talk about spoilers. :/ I also really don't want to see the Crusaders get their marks yet, and especially not... those. The fact that the Crusaders are silhouetted has me a tad worried, though the lack of a leaked Apple Bloom cutie mark is interesting. I can definitely see the Pie family members to the right, and I believe there might be some Applejack-related characters on there too. I don't mean actual relatives but rather characters that will be involved in an Apple Family episode, likely the Hoofields and McColts. I can sort of see Coco Pommel in there, but I don't see Cheese anywhere, unfortunately.
  18. Because earth ponies are left without any special ability or talent. Magical powers and flying abilities automatically add an extra element of "coolness" that earth ponies just lack. And well, everyone loves to have their characters be the best they can be. As for me, I'm an earth pony fan through and through, just check my profile. I don't have an OC of my own, but if I did, she would undoubtedly be an earth pony.
  19. So much dislike for 'Tricks up My Sleeve.' I think that one is pure gold. Fave to least fave including the three encore short songs that weren't actually in the movie. 1. Shine Like Rainbows 2. My Past is Not Today 3. Friendship Through the Ages 4. Under Our Spell 5. Welcome to the Show 6. Tricks Up My Sleeve 7. Shake Your Tail 8. Awesome As I Wanna Be 9. Battle 10. Rainbow Rocks 11. Better Than Ever 12. Life is a Runway Love them all though. The only true stinkers are the Snips and Snails rap (duh) and Bad Counter Spell.
  20. No. I think scrapping his character would be a really pointless pursuit. If there's something wrong with the character, then the writers should strive to fix it. Taking him out of the show only causes more harm than good. He is Twilight Sparkle's assistant and best friend as well as the lead male figure on the show. You just can't write out such a well-established and vital character. I actually don't think Spike is written nearly as bad as a lot of fans make him out to be. He's been the butt of a lot of jokes since even season 1, and his episodes weren't really any better back then either. He just plays the support role better than the leading role, and that's okay. I do agree that he could be more consistent overall.
  21. Sort of. Once upon a time when I first started watching ponies back in 2011 when season 1 had concluded and season 2 had not yet started, it was Rainbow Dash who I liked the most initially. But by the time I had marathoned all 26 episodes, Applejack just sort of solidified herself as my definitive favorite now and forever. Once I glom onto a fave, I rarely switch to another. I always fluctuate between the other manes for the second and third favorite spots, etc. Nopony has been able to dethrone AJ for the top spot over the years though. <3 Unless it's Equestria Girls. Then Shimmer rules. But even then, FiM AJ is still unbeatable.
  22. Handed someone the 80 cents that I owed them and accidentally said "80 dollars." Heh, they wished!
  23. Sunny called. She wants you to have some more of her. :3
