  1. As Chikorita said, we get to see her family in Season 5 so hopefully a lot. They have room to expand upon it, especially with the supposed Apple family connection. I'm really looking forward to that episode - Maud was a great character, so I'm sure the rest of her family will be too
  2. I hear this often, but have yet to come across specific examples. What in particular about the dialogue did you feel was out-of-character? Earlier I re-read the comic, and as I went through I read Rainbow's dialogue in her voice, and it fit with her character very well to me. My only issue is that she was a bit too self-centered, but its not like that's a new trait for Dash
  3. I loved it. I thought it was silly and entertaining. The dialogue was great. I enjoyed the villain's concept, and while there were a few wishy-washy parts, overall those didn't spoil the comic for me. I really don't know why its so hated.
  4. I'd cry. I really would. I love this place, and I love how much it has helped me over the time I've been a member here.

  8. I know who my hero is. He's a small town country boy who's smart, funny, electric, loving, and dependable. He's my inspiration. my love, and my guide. His name is @Miles
  9. In the "Stop the Bats!" song, one of AJ's lyrics are "...and they're mean as sin", which is a religious term. In "Feeling Pinkie Keen", Twilight is skeptical of Pinkie's "Pinkie Sense" and insists it isn't real, while simultaneously explaining that magic is. At the end of the episode, she writes a letter to Celestia, saying "I am happy to report that I now realize there are wonderful things in this world you just can't explain, but that doesn't necessarily make them any less true. It just means you have to choose to believe in them, and sometimes it takes a friend to show you the way". This means the idea of faith is acknowledged by the ponies of Equestria in one way or another Ponies get Cutie Marks, which exposes them to their "true calling (destiny)", a common theme in religion. In Hearth's Warming Eve, Applejack says "Heaven forbid that should happen, your chancellorship", indicating that they are aware of Heaven, or at least the concept. We also know that death exists in Equestria, although the ultimate destination of the deceased hasn't been explicitly stated. With all this in mind, I think it's plausible to conclude that some ponies may believe in an afterlife of some form. If some are willing to believe in curses and superstition, and with magic as present as it is, then this might mean that the idea of an afterlife isn't too far fetched to them.
  10. Sort of. I grew up listening to bands like ICP, System of a Down, Korn, Linkin Park, Metallica, Iron Maiden, Creed, Alter Bridge, Nirvana, and so on. I essentially listened to mostly rock-rap, nu-metal, metal, grunge, punk, and alternative. As I've grown older, while I still keep my roots and continue to listen to all the previously mentioned bands (plus I've expanded into other similar bands, such as Audioslave, Seether, Staind, Bayside, etc), I have since branched out and dabble in more forms of rap and electronic music. I now enjoy artists such as Daisuke Tanabe, Ace Hood, Kanye West, DJ Pon-3 (brony artist), Pusha T, Chance the Rapper, Lil Wayne, and various other scattered artists and songs in their respective genres.
  11. I went to a Christian school from 1st-8th grade, and attended church in-school every Tuesday or Wednesday, so I've heard my fair share of hymns. "Shut De Door" was probably my most favorite. We had a guest pastor that would come in and play his acoustic guitar while we all sang along. I loved it. "A Mighty Fortress", "Silent Night", "Saints of God", "El Shaddai", "Light a Fire", "O Come O Come Emmanuel" are some of my other favorites. Loved this hymn. I remember it was the first hymn in our school's Lutheran hymn book. Such a beautiful song, along with "O Come All Ye Faithful". . For my school's Christmas program, we actually sang a rendition of Mary Did You Know, inspired by this rock version, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NC-b4mYFT1A
  12. I find the first picture to be "scarier". She has a more "off the hinge" and "deranged" look than the second pic. I see the second pic as more threatening. She looks angry and aggressive.
  13. I knew you'd find your way back into the fold at some point. Once you join, there is no turning back ~ I meaaann, I'm glad you made the choice to return. Hehe, but for reals, Its good to have you back on the staff
  14. Classic Spongebob was just amazing television. Practically every episode had several memorable and distinct moments. The Krusty Krab Pizza song, "FUTUUURE", The Campfire Song, the Magic Conch, so many recognizable things. Here's another one that makes me laugh every time. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q6ctb-Pb3lc
  15. Came into this thread with these songs in mind. They really are fantastic covers. Especially Mad World; that song's lyrics just demand it be sung slowly over a piano rather than over some 80s synthpop beat. --- Here comes what will likely be a very unpopular opinion. I actually prefer Korn's version of "One" over Metallica's. Jonathan Davis' vocals just fit the song perfectly, and I love Fieldy's bass line. Additionally, I feel that the original runs on too long. Korn's version ends on the perfect note. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8xVd8-Ivp0w
  16. Oversleeping for school became a common routine for me back in middle school. It started out as an unintentional consequence of staying up late the previous night, but slowly grew into a habit. My mother, the one who drove me to school, would often oversleep as well, which didn't help the situation. Nowadays, while I don't oversleep too often, I do tend to stay up much later than I plan, which throws off my sleep pattern.
  17. I saw this and just had to share it. Twilight enjoying a day in the rain
  18. I skipped tons of days of school from the 6th-8th grade, and if I didn't skip, I was late for class. For several reasons, whether it be anxiety, or just my mom not waking up in time to drive me, or if I just didn't feel like going. I rarely showed up on Mondays, to the point to where no one expected me to be at school on Mondays. In 9th grade, I skipped around 70% of the time, as it was online school and the work could technically be done whenever. I rarely attended any of the classes because they were poorly taught and weren't required (even though they claimed they were). My teachers didn't care and didn't try to help me, neither did my parents. I ended up dropping out, so, the best advice I can give anyone looking to skip school is to do the exact opposite of what I did. Don't be a moron like me. If there's something that's troubling you in school or with your own self, please let someone know. Do it before its too late.
  19. Luna has been defeated, but, a great tournament it was. Congratulations to the winner, Rarity, and all of her fans who rallied behind her . It was fun.
