  1. @Blitz Boom That sounds like a good course of action, finding the scientists that acted as their parents... I have an idea, and thus a surprise for them on the first transport. Say for example, once their scientist parents got wiped out if Deep Science, they became doctors? And have since become medics...
  2. @Blitz Boom Delicate simply looked at them with a sad expression, and gave Null a moment to grieve before she continued. "I hardly expected you to believe me, but that is simply the way it is. We're trying to put everything back together here, taking the best of all nations and building a better world of it. A New Equis that stands taller than any of the nations of the old world." She gestured towards the door, "Out there standsstands a collection of nearly every nation, all united contrary to the loyalties of their former nations in an effort to build a better world, one of cooperation and hope." She sighed, seemingly realizing that her talk was likely wasted on them. "You two are free to remain with us as long as you like, or to leave when you wish, so long as you don't cause trouble. The leader at the former city of Troy is one of the foremost proponents of the New Equis plan, he's agreed to send transportsto move those who can't make the trek across the desert. Once they're all out of here the rest of us won't be too far behind them." She moved to leave the tent, "You have about a week then to decide if you'll be coming with us or not."
  3. @Blitz Boom Well, she still has the weapons that they scavenged off the desert... I'm trying to figure out how she can be made to disassociate the suffering caused by Deep Science and The Grey from the whole of Troy. Equestria suffers from the same issue in The Zoo and The Closet, though to a lesser extent. Anyway, let's see how it goes shall we?
  4. @Blitz Boom It's here, if anything is confusing, let me know so I can clarify, misspellings or poor grammar is due to moble writing, and is not intentional. Enjoy!
  5. @Blitz Boom Delicate looked stunned by Void's response, taking a step back from the table before stepping forward to more closely examine the crumpled papers that Void had produced. She nodded with a saddened and concerned expression as she put the paper down and looked at the others. "Three years..." she glanced up at them, "I realize that most of what I'm about to say will mean nothing to you, but first of all I feel a great sorrow for you both." She sat down with one of the papers in hoof. "The elections were just after you two were abducted, Consul Hoof had justified the program under his plan to find any weapon against Equestria. When my husband took office he had the whole thing shut down because of such violations as yours." She shook her head. Eyeing the paper that Pen had written about them, "The Grey as well has been almost entirely disbanded since Cosul Easle took office after my husband resigned, they at least shouldn't bother you two anymore." She set the paper down and looked at them with a serious expression. "Now, you two have missed out on quite a bit while you were in, " she looked back at the paper, "cryo storage." She looked back up at them, and sighed. "Not long after my husband became Consul, there was a war on the Cervidian continent." She pointed it out as the one across Eternity's Sea, to the southeast of Equestria. "Both Troy and Equestria fought opposing sides of the civil war, and in the process a number of territories switched sides, namely Appaloosa, Dodge Jct., Las Pegasus, and the Blackwater Protectorate." She pointed out each of the cities in turn. "My husband resigned at the end of the war, so Vice Consul Easle took his place as Cosul, and we had peace and open borders for almost a full year. Then we entered the conflict we're in now. Discord opened the gates of Tartarus, and proceeded to lay waste to any semblance of harmony and peace he could with its spawn. We all fought valiantly, those that didn't join him that is, But Equestria fell, then the Empire, then the Kingdoms, then Troy." She sighed, "While what remains still bears its name, it is far removed from what it was, better in my opinion. The former city of Troy is now one of four remaining beacons of civilization left after Discord was defeated. The dead zone a scar of that final battle, and the spawn remain as none have been able to close the gates. We've been trying to rebuild for about a year now... the calamity has been a big help towards cooperation. " She sighed again, "Now, I know this is quite a bit to accept, and I know this likely means nothing to you, but I swear by the ever constant stars above that it's the truth. I won't tell the others what you've told me, they don't need to know."
  6. @Blitz Boom I saw your post, loved it, but I'm in the process of moving right now, so I may not be able to respond for a little bit. Looking forward to it though, they will get the full story that they will likely refuse to believe, should be great!
  7. @Blitz Boom The pegasus named Hooves looked confused at their answer, "Harrowmark?" She shrugged, "That puts you a very long distance from here. Nonetheless it's a pleasure to meet you, we'll need all the able bodies we can get if we're going to make it through this." She gestured for them to follow her as she turned away, walking towards the center oasis of the formerly large city. "As to what's going on, its the same as anywhere else on this continent, survival." Those they passed glanced their way, they all seemed tired, worried. "But I'm sure you two are well acquainted with that aren't you? I heard Harrowmark got hit pretty hard after Discord couldn't break the Blackwater shield." She gave them a momentary stare as she opened the door to a large tent next to the diminished oasis, and held it open for them to enter, before she took a seat on the far side of a table that bore a map of Equis, only it didn't look quite like it did the last time they had gotten a look at it, a large area that covered much of the open area between Troy and Equestria had been circled and labeled Dead Zone, with another circle around a marker labeled the Gates of Tartarus, which was well within the dead zone. Delicate gestured for them to take seats on their side of the table, "Now, it's clear to me that you two aren't from Harrowmark, and I can respect a certain desire to be cautious, but if this community is going to be strong, we need to be open. I'll answer any question you two have, but I ask that you answer mine in return. Is that fair?" She looked at the two expectantly, she seemed relaxed, and unarmed. "If you don't mind me asking then, where are you really from? and how did you really get here?"
  8. @Blitz Boom (A nice convenience that most of their questions are related to the same thing.) In regards to their question about the Tar-Spawn, their guide nodded as he started to move faster. "I can't rightly say I know where Harrowmark is, but it must be far from here if you two don't know these things. They're the twisted forms of those who have suffered in Tartarus for so long they've lost all sense of who they once were. They're the only ones who would follow a creature like Discord willingly. For just over a year now they've ravaged the continent." The moaning drew closer, they were fast whatever they were, their guide started to gallop as tall walls became visible in the distance. "Move! If we hurry we can make the city before they get to us!" Behind them the creatures were cresting the dunes, it seemed about a half dozen of them were in pursuit, black shadowy creatures with solid black eyes, their coats faded remnants of their formerly vibrant colors. As the city grew closer more details could be made out, particularly that it had been seriously attacked, the towering walls had collapsed in a number of places, allowing a view of the ruined buildings and makeshift fortifications within, as well as a number of creatures moving about within. The tattered remnants of a banner hung from one of the standing towers, depicting a winged sword crossing in front of the moon. It may not mean much to them, but it was clearly not the banner of Troy. (Assuming they don't slow down) The creatures were nearly upon them, and they were nearly at a fortified entrance to the city, when one of the locals wielding a weapon like the strange one Null had picked up, used it to launch a sickly purple projectile against the leading monster behind them, dropping it to the ground with a solid thud. The other creatures broke focus long enough for a set of shots by the other guards to dispatch them, and thus Null, Void, and their guide were able to safely enter the walls. The interior of the city was as damaged as the walls. While many of the structures stood upright, just as many had collapsed. A certain very tall structure had fallen across the central oasis, serving as a sort of bridge and shade over the diminished supply the oasis held. All around them were creatures of all types: ponies, of the three kinds plus even a few crystal, deer and reindeer, buffalo, diamond dogs, camels, zebra, thestrals, minotaurs, and griffons, even two or three changelings going about. None seemed to pay Null and Void any particular mind though, they seemed too preocupied to tending to a number of young and sick or wounded that the undamaged buildings held. (They are free to have some sort of reaction to this,) A tired looking pegasus came up to them, she seemed to be a leader among them as others made way for her to pass. She bowed in greeting to them, "Welcome, I am Delicate Hooves, who might you two be?" She looked positive.
  9. @Blitz Boom The wanderer only raised an eyebrow at her explanation, then nodded. "Explains how you got past the dead zone, no one's crossed from Equestria as unscathed as you two since..." the stallion grimaced, "But there's no need to talk about such terrible times now." The stallion scanned the horizon before he gestured for them to follow him, "It is good that you set to arm yourselves, it will help. They are most active during the day." He retrieved a small pouch of water from his cloak and passed it to them, it was warm, but better than nothing, and it at least tasted clean. They were able to choose what they scavanged from half halberds, short swords, and spears, there were a few Trojan guards with a strange sort of crossbow type weapon, it looked like a much smaller version of the veritable cannon that the griffon had been carrying. He lead them in a direction following the tracks as they went further from the facility. A sign by the tracks indicated, in faded text, that they led to Deltrot. (Deltrot was one of the major cities, home of the rebellion that made Troy it's own nation outside of Equestria, and not too far from Appaloosa.) As they walked it seemed their new guide was interested in conversation. "So," he looked over at Null, "How long have you two been wandering? Not many survive long without a group, especially not up against the Tar-Spawn." In the wind there was the sound of groaning coming from behind them, the moans of the condemned, their guide shivered. "Already they wake, we should be able to reach my group before they do."
  10. @Blitz Boom I almost wish she had tried to attack him, it would have been an interesting scene to write. As a bit of lore, the desert wanderers are known in Troy as those who live without government, must like the mavericks of Equestria, small colonies of individuals who follow a nomadic lifestyle. They were just approached by an apparent wanderer, and I would like to believe that it is the only group they could get along with, given they typically avoid most of the shackles of civilization and advanced magic as very few are unicorns.
  11. @Blitz Boom With the winds on the desert, it wasn't long before they couldn't hear the guards or the rumbling of the facility as it collapsed. They hadn't even been running a full minute before the wind was all they could hear. When Void's blind run across the desert stopped by her collision with the corpse of one of the spawn of Tartarus, which caused them to fall into one of the many craters that dotted the landscape, they would finally be able to really take in their surroundings. At least in the crater, the wind wasn't blowing on them, though sand was still being blown onto them. The ground was mostly clay, with a dusting of sand on top of it, but it was dry and cracked. If they ventured to look around outside of their crater, they weren't far from the railway, in fact there was what looked to be a station nearby, it was likely for the facility they had just escaped, but it was in extreme disrepair, along with the rails leading up to it, twisted and broken beyond any semblance of order or usefulness. There were dozens of corpses all around, both in and around the many craters in the clay, as well as more than a few field grave markers, guard helmets on pikes, both Equestrian and Trojan guards had died here. The corpse they now shared a crater with, hadn't been dead too long, only about a year, so it wasn't wholly decomposed, plus the sand had dried it out to the point that it was mostly skin and bones. The wind died down shortly after, and it was quiet as the sun started to rise, from the west. A single pony dressed in a desert wanderer's garb seemed to have taken notice of them, a thick brown cloak to keep off the sand. It was a unicorn, as brown as the sand, and he spoke with a gruff voice "You lost?"
  12. @Randimaxis Luna's laugh was soft, but caring, as she lifted his chin with a hoof, "Thy honesty is... refreshing. As before only one stallion hath born their heart as openly as thee." She lowered her hoof, the kind smile still on her face, "We know of thy dreams of us, and are flattered, however thou dost surmise correctly, our heart belongeth to another not unlike yourself. Thou hast not done wrong in this, thou needest no forgiveness." She closed her eyes for a moment, Dax could feel a lifting within himself as Luna neutralized his shame. She opened her eyes again, "Already thy heart openeth anew, ready to accept another." She nodded, "Thou wilt treat her well, we are sure." She tilted her head to the side, a curious expression to her face. "Thou art about as old as he was, perhaps a bit older, and it leaves no doubt in our mind that thou art descended from his work." She turned to face the sky, gesturing out, "He too loved the stars..."
  13. @Randimaxis Princess Luna didn't immediately turn around at Dax's words, though she did stop her humming. "Strange, while we are used to awe in our presence, even inadequacy. Countless times fear has been common," she turned to face Dax, her face a mixture between concern and intrigue, "Only once before hath a stallion had such shame in my presence." Illiad too looked very concerned at Dax's sudden shift of emotion, and came up to his side, he looked questioningly at Luna, though she shook her head, coming closer to Dax and lowering herself to his level. "We doubt very much that thou hast besmirched thine honor as he." She gave a slight smirk before her concerned demeanor renewed. "What is it that troubleth thee?" (I imagine that while she acts aloof and serious in public, she likes to be much more personal in private scenarios)
  14. @Blitz Boom I think it was a very good response, and I hope mine was equally acceptable. If they choose to flee then they could have a small moment alone to realize how the world has changed in their absence. The Consul is willing to talk to them honestly, not that Null would believe him, if they're willing to listen. I'm trying to think up a way to get them to realize that the world is so very different than what they assume it is, that they've only seen the bad and decided it was the whole world. ALSO! Big idea I had, could be a major thing. Their power seems to be nullifying magic right? What if they were actually just absorbing the magic, and sending it somewhere else? Like magic batteries? So, we know they share a father, what if their father cast a spell on them as foals to bear the curse, to send that magic to him? He's been using them as a magic battery their whole lives! This allows them to nullify magic around them, but still have magic within themselves, thus Null could still fly, Void has her Earth pony constitution, but no external magic can effect them, because the curse just takes the energy and sends it to their father to expand his own mana reserves. This is of course just an idea, and I'll be fine if you don't like it.
  15. @Blitz Boom (Very good) The Consul took a step back, an eyebrow raised, though the slight smile remained on his face before his horn let off a slight glow, then he looked confused. "Very interesting." The rest of the guards, the Equestrian ones to a much greater extent than the Trojan ones, seemed agitated to her calling the alicorn a beast. But the Consul raised a placating hoof and they lowered their weapons. "Now now, they've been through quite a bit. Now..." His eyes focused on the gemstone that lay just outside of Void's influence, and it started to roll towards him with a slight blue glow like his eyes. He held it up in his magic to examine it. "How..." he muttered to himself, before he sighed. He set the gem down as close as he could magically get it to Void. He looked concerned, "Would you let me have that gem?" The question was cut off by a deep rumbling from below the earth, which seemed to shake even the alicorn before he lifted himself up with his wings, "MOVE." he shouted, and all the guards began moving out of the structure, which was already starting to collapse further. The guards that had accompanied them within the facility would motion for them to follow, pick them up if they were unresponsive, or let them flee if they decided to. Most of the guards were running directly away from the dried oasis in the center of the facility, taking to a flat stone pathway that started to crack by the rumbling below. The alicorn was using magic to protect the guards and them as they ran by deflecting falling rubble. just as soon as most of the guards had gotten past the walls that surrounded the facility, a tremendous explosion shook the earth, knocking almost all the guards to the ground. There was the straining sounds of metal and stone before large parts of the facility, visible through the ruined walls, fell down on the now collapsed facility below. It became, like the earth pony guard had mentioned, a large crater. The alicorn looked about in concern moving to retrieve any fallen guards that hadn't escaped the facility before it exploded from below. A few hadn't survived the explosion. Nonetheless, the outside of the facility wasn't much better, the sand and clay outside was pocked with craters and burned areas, the whole desert seemed like a veritable warzone, discarded armor dotted the landscape along with the corpses of the spawn of Tartarus. If they had fled away from the guards, some would begin to search for them.
  16. @Randimaxis Illiad sighed, but it was more in a contemplative way over what Dax had said, he turned towards him with a slight, but genuine smile, "I appreciate that, thank you." Illiad looked momentarily confused, then his expression brightened considerably, "Oh yes, that's right! I can't believe I forgot!" He stood up, and wobbled slightly at the motion of the cart below them, but quickly steadied himself. "I don't know if I mentioned it already, but there is a big surprise here for you that I'm sure you're going to love." The look on his face made it clear that he was not going to spill the secret. It wasn't long before the cart came to a stop next to a pair of doors to the observatory, it lowered to the ground to let them off, before becoming as still as the stone it was made of. Illiad tucked the box he had been given into his robes as he gestured inside. The observatory now towered over them, a dark beacon of science to the stars. It was very quiet, though a fain whirring like many gears could be heard as one of the larger telescopes moved. Through the doors there was a small reception area, posters for a number of different exhibits they did seasonally as well as posters for classes hosted by TrUST for those wanting to become astronomers that were held here on certain nights. It seemed the observatory doubled as an academy on the stars. Illiad went up to the receptionist, who seemed rather disenchanted by the job, especially as he seemed to be arguing with a small griffon who's robes bore the symbol of TrUST, "How can the grand telescope be reserved? No one reserves the telescope! Can't you tell them to use another one? TrUST takes priority doesn't it?" the griffon spoke with a heavy accent of the northern kingdoms(he sounds like Dexter from Dexter's lab) The receptionist pony simply shrugged, "Sorry, they've got the clearance, it says specifically in the reservation that only the Consul could cancel this reservation." The griffon seemed dissatisfied, but didn't push the issue, instead turned to go down one of the hallways with a file full of papers tucked under its wing. The receptionist perked up as Illiad came up, "Hi there! Welcome to the Alphyns observatory, as you may have overheard, the grand telescope has been reserved, but we'd be happy to accommodate you with another one." Illiad nodded, "That reservation, it's for one I Easle and a certain other correct?" The receptionist looked surprised, then checked the papers before him, before looking up, "Why yes, It's an honor sir, but I'll still have to request some ID, can't have a changeling steal your spot right?" Illiad passed over a document from his robes, "Has the certain other already arrived?" The receptionist returned the paper to Illiad with a nod, "She said you'd be along shortly, and was getting things ready last I checked. I'm sure you know the way Mr. Easle." With that Illiad led the way, motioning for Dax to follow, as he followed the arrows that said 'Grand Telescope'. Soon enough they were in front of the doors to the telescope, a number of plaques lined the hall to get there, each with pictures and information about the telescope, how it was built, and some of the first starscapes it had been used to record. In all it was a magnificent work of engineering, as far as the plaques said. There was a faint humming coming from the other side of the doors, one Dax might recognize. Illiad simply smiled as he watched Dax for his reaction before he gestured towards the doors, "You first." Through the doors was a large circular chamber like the plaques had described, a marvelous work of machinery supported a giant telescope mounted to the ceiling of the dome, which turned as the telescope did so that only a small part of the dome had to be open to the outside elements. The telescope could even move up and down with a range of nearly 90 degrees. A number of smaller telescopes stood stationary around the edges of the dome and out on a balcony without the dome. But in the center of it all was the very Princess of the Night. She stood staring in the same direction as the giant telescope, away from the doors Dax had entered from, allowing him a moment to watch.
  17. @Randimaxis Mystic looked saddened by the response, "While Troy has gained many allies, not all of them want to work together, and would rather Troy didn't work with them either." She shrugged, "The investigation is still ongoing, but from what I was told: A certain reindeer was carrying an explosive in the legislative building, and it went off while Consul Hooves and... I forget his name, but he was the leader of the Fastar Clan of Thestrals, were nearby. Consul Hooves was greatly injured, among others, but the Fastar leader and the reindeer were found dead." She looked back up at Vylia, "So now I guess he's Acting Consul Easle until Consul Hooves recovers, tensions were very high when I left, but hopefully he'll be able to calm things back down." Mystic perked up considerably at the news that Dax would be in charge of showing her around, and didn't miss that Vylia smiled at the end. She knows... and it seems she approves. She looked herself over to ensure that she was wholly presentable, she hardly wanted to make a poor impression after all this time. When Dax had last seen her, she looked the part of an adolescent zebra filly, but through time she had developed into the exotic zebra mare that stood before Vylia, while she still looked quite young, she was well on her way. And now she'd get to see how Dax had matured in her absence. Mystic nodded, "I'll keep that in mind, I would certainly hate to cause your cleaning staff any trouble. After all I've heard of this place, and the little I saw for myself on the way up, I'm sure the rest is just as, if not even more, beautiful."
  18. @Blitz Boom (In regards to Void's comments) The guard looked unsure, if not conflicted, about Void's clarifying statement, but didn't say anything in response. (Our feature presentation.) As more of the creature pulled itself out of the puddle, it became clear that it wasn't Panic, but the first goo creature that had so completely terrified Void in the maintenance tunnels, and again before she had met the guard. The assembled guard of mixed armors continued to give the creature a wide berth, while also forming up into a circle, if the creature were to leave, it'd have to go through the guards, and the others could press in from behind no matter what direction it went. At full height the creature stood taller than even the griffon that had brought them up in the elevator. It turned to look over at Void, the solid red eye with a slit pupil peering at her from beneath the ooze that seemed to perpetually ooze from it. It extended a hoof towards them, and the guards tensed, then it took a step towards them. The sound of the beating of large wings was heard before another creature entered the circle from above. It was, against all odds, an alicorn. The alicorn was covered in a black cloak, though its great wings, a tan color right between sand and clay, stuck out from beneath the cloak. It landed almost silently, and the creature lowered its hoof and turned to face the newcomer. From under the good of its cloak, a single eye glowed white. It spoke in a deep masculine voice, but in a way that was entirely unintelligible, except apparently to the creature, whose posture grew aggressive as it turned to fully face the alicorn. The creature lunged at the alicorn, who simply lowered its head as it extended its wings, first the tan ones, then a pair that seemed to be made of shadow, then a pair that seemed made of light. It's horn glowed brilliantly in a twisted combination of light and dark magics, before a beam struck the creature in the air. Its scream caused all the guards to flinch, it was the scream of one who had lost everything, after only barely having recovered it. It tore at the soul much like it had previously torn at their minds in the facility. When the light faded, the alicorn stood tall before the cowering shape of a changeling queen. She was black with red accents, and a look much more vicious than Chrysalis had ever managed. The alicorn withdrew its hood, revealing its sky blue eyes, sand colored mane that flowed like the rippling of dunes, and a laurel of golden leaves that signified his station as Consul of Troy. "Queen Gelatine, for the vengeance calle against you by the citizens of Staliongrad, the ponies of Equestria, the citizens of Troy, and your daughter queens Permutation and Sleipnir, and having now been cleansed of the corruption which held you, you are hereby sentenced to death for the many you have maimed and killed." The changeling queen struggled to rise before the alicorn retrieved a sword from within his robes, (they might recognize it as the Sword of Troy), the blade glowed with a sickly purple light. The alicorn waited for her to stand fully upright before thrusting the sword into her chest-plate. The queen staggered, before a red flame grew from where the sword had pierced her carapace. The flame grew to consume her whole body, leaving nothing but a pile of red/black ash on the floor of the room. a number of changelings of many colors came forward to scatter the ashes with their wings, each with a look of disgust at the creature who had once stood there. The alicorn turned to face Null and Void then, and smiled as he returned the sword to his robes. "Ah! I see the two of you made it out! Now, it seems there is much that must be discussed." (I hope this scene satisfies you!)
  19. @Blitz Boom(We'll have to talk about your changelings, see where I can make them fit.) "Hey now," The guard seemed to be more than a little annoyed at Null. "None of us are exactly thrilled the Consul sent us down here to get you two, but you can lay off 'im. Were it up to me this whole place would be a crater by now, but knowing a few innocent creatures were down here we agreed to risk the trip. Had we known they'd be as hateful as you though... " he just shook his head angrily, "Of all those that survived Discord, it had to be you." The way he said it, and how the griffon looked at him as he did, indicated that it was a very strong phrase for the stallion. Soon enough the elevator doors opened, and the two remaining guards ushered them towards it. The earth pony that Null had deeply offended not afraid to get physical in moving them towards it, especially as the sounds of movement came from the open doorway they had come from. Metallic, yet precise steps, as a machine bearing a striking resemblance to Panic, with the addition of black goo dripping off of it, stepped into view of the doorway. The earth pony tossed an explosive off of his vest, to expertly buck it at Panic as the griffon fired its weapon at the door control, shutting the door before the incendiary explosive melted the metal door enough to keep it closed for a bit, though the pounding that immediately started, indicated Panic would not be held by it long. (They can feel free to object to the elevator, but the griffon and earth pony will do their best to force them inside, especially since it is now the only way out.) (Assuming there are no apologies) The elevator ride was long, and tense, neither of the guards relaxed as they kept their eyes on Null. (Again, feel free to butt in) Eventually the door opened, revealing a large room with a caved in ceiling. The front wall had also collapsed, revealing a number of wrecked buildings surrounding the dried remains of an oasis. The guards from before were milling about with other guards, some dressed in similar style to the guards they knew, just with white robes instead of grey, and others dressed in a mix between Trojan and Equestrian armor, a robe with the Equestrian plates, and yet others in full Equestrian armor. The moon was high in the sky. Almost as soon as their elevator had arrived, a puddle of black ooze began to form in an adjacent corner of the room, the assembled guards of mixed armor sets turned their attention to it, and began backing away from it as the goo covered creature began to pull itself out. (I'll leave this here, the next scene is the Consul's arrival, and as such we enter the final stage of the story)
  20. @Blitz Boom Most of the members of the Scarves of Red, as the intercom had called them back when they entered, seemed nonplussed by Null's comments, with the exception of the reindeer, who just smiled, he spoke with an accent very different from a normal reindeer, "I know they are, but what am I? Half reindeer, half thestral, hated by both, and apparently by those who pass judgement on a first glance." The griffon, identified as Boss, simply shook her head. "This place is going down any minute now, we need to get moving already." Given the clear discomfort to his presence, Doc backed away from them, and offered a placating gesture. Boss pointed towards the reindeer, the changeling, and the earth pony that had accompanied them thus far. "Get moving, we'll take the next car. We won't all fit in one." Those pointed to went through the door labeled GATE A, through which was an elevator access, the elevator was already down there for them, so they wasted no time in getting in and leaving. Now there was just Null and Void, the Griffon called Boss, and the Earth Pony with the explosives. They had their attention focused on the doorway they had come through, as if waiting for something to come after them. The griffon made a motion to the earth pony, who went over to them. "Hey, how'd you two end up in here anyway? You don't look or sound like the type that should be here."
  21. @Blitz Boom The guard was very quick to close the door behind them once they made their way through, and seemed very relieved to find them unharmed, at least relatively. The guard seemed visibly shaken by the whole experience, and seemed content to simply lean against the wall for a moment, until a voice called out from the catwalk above them. "FoeHammer, get those VIPs up here, I got you covered." It was a very gruff, yet slightly feminine voice, with a clear griffonic accent. It fit well, given the creature on the catwalk above them was a griffon. The new guard carried a what looked like a weapon the size of a full ship's cannon, and she stood on her hind legs to hold it properly. She wore armor of a similar style to the guard that had accompanied them, up to the dragonscale neck guard, but instead of the helmet, this griffon wore a pair of sunglasses, an odd choice given the dim lighting. The guard who had been with them snapped to attention at the griffon's call, "Right away boss." She gestured for them to follow her as she made her way through the small maze of shelves to the stairway up to the catwalk the griffon was guarding. The griffon stood to one side to let them pass, then followed from behind, keeping her eyes, and the weapon, pointed back the way they had come from. (I assume they follow, and don't object, if they do, then stop here, otherwise continue) The next room had another pair of the heavily armored guards with the red scarves, one an earth pony with a number of throw-able explosives strapped to him, the other a reindeer with the eyes of a bat pony, he was melting down a wall of ice that covered the doorway to their left. (Provided they still don't object) Through the now melted doorway was another red scarved-guard, though this one not so heavily armored, it was a changeling, on a forelimb was a band that identified it as a medic. "Snipes, good. Boomer, good. Boss, good. Foe... not so good. Others..." It looked at them intently, teal eyes looking them over for injury, "in need of assistance, but not urgently." The griffon nodded before moving through the large security door behind the doctor, it was labeled, in gigantic letters, GATE A. "Left, Right, coming up now. VIPs acquired." The changeling came over to them, "Did your limbs recently go missing?"
  22. @Blitz Boom Here's what happened, 096 has a curse, where it is forced to eat anything that sees its face. However, given Null and Void are immune to curses, the curse affecting 096 doesn't recognize them as having seen its face, and thus it isn't forced to eat them.
  23. @Blitz Boom (Yes, Finally) (I assume that Void follow's Null's advice to close her eyes, and that Null does the same.) Whether Null followed her own advice or not, her vision would suddenly go dark as something fell on her head like a wet blanket, before it contorted sharply to cover her whole body, wrestling her to the floor while keeping her mouth from moving. It felt like when Pen had wrapped herself onto her, but more complete. Any sounds of struggle were masked by the sound of the creature now pounding on the door to the room they were in. Null nonetheless could hear someone speak, as if speaking directly into her ear. The voice was masculine, "I refuse to die while one like you lives." The skin crawler forced Null's head towards the door they had come from before it uncovered her eyes, or rather, it forced her eyes open to watch the door. "We go down together." Null was forced to look as the door was forced open just wide enough to see... The creature's face... The sunken eyes, staring wide, the face covered in scars, long talons grasped at the door with pointed nails, dried blood covered its hands. Its mouth hung monstrously open in a terribly scream. Time seemed to slow as the door was forced the rest of the way open, and the creature came bounding into the room right towards Null and the skinwalker who held her. The skinwalker peeled itself off of her, forcing her forward as it launched itself backward, trying to use her as a meat shield against the thing as it reached to open the next door. The guard wasted no time in running into the next room as soon as she heard the door open. The creature didn't even touch Null, bounding right over her, as the screaming was replaced by the equally sickening sound of skin being torn to shreds and consumed. When the shredding and consuming stopped, there was silence, followed by light sobbing, likely from the creature, with Null could confirm if she looked. There was also a gemstone sitting on the floor, just in front of where Void had been standing before it all went down. (In case you're interested) The next room was the one that had the stairs down to a small maze to get to the platform above. Null would likely remember the way from last time. The guard was wating just around the corner for either of them to come through the doorway.
  24. @Blitz Boom Sorry for the confusion, I meant 096, which is the shy guy, only off by one, but my bad. Anyway, my next post will be very intense, just so you're aware. Null's mouth just got her in trouble with someone. No promise that I'll be able to write it tonight, but I hope to!
  25. @Blitz Boom The guard didn't actually move until the sisters moved past her, getting through the door before Void got it closed with Pen's card, though not before the creature they weren't supposed to look at gave off a horrifying shriek that would chill anyone to the bone. A shriek of horror and disgust, like one driven to madness by a horrible curse. Only a few moments after the heavy security door closed did the banging start against it, extremely loud, as the equally loud shrieking came from just on the other side. The guard sounded horrified, "Someone saw it. Oh stars someone saw it..." She ran to get the next door open. "We have to move, as fast as we can. It won't stop until it gets whoever saw it." Already the door was dented in several places. The guard moved into the next room as soon as the door opened, motioning the other's through and closing it as soon as they followed. One of them may have noticed the black shadow that passed through with them, which seemed to follow them from the ceiling. But they also might not notice it just yet. The next room was the science area Null and Pen had passed through earlier, the one with the strange key and the door. Speaking of said key, she still had it on her. The guard moved through the same observation area that Null and Pen had, opening the next door just as the sound of shrieking got louder, accompanied by the sound of what was likely a heavy door being forced open. The next room was the cafeteria, the guard running a full sprint to the next door, below the overlook they were on was a veritable sea of the eye covered yarn creature that had accosted Null the first time she had passed through. All the while the shadow was following them from above. Were Void to see it she might recognize it, given the glowing gem within, as the other skin walker that had gotten her moving from Panic's containment. The sound of the shrieking was getting louder, and the crash of doors closer. The creature was much faster than them, even with the doors between them. It would be upon them soon. (The other skin walker saw the creature, like Pen it has no choice, and due to the curse of 097, it will be destroyed by the creature in order to sate it.)
