  1. Finished version! I played with the lines a bit before coloring, and made the background stripes straighter this time. The neck feels a bit short, but I don't feel like redoing all the lines, coloring, and shading there to fix it.
  2. I'm using SketchBook X on my iPod, it has no line smoothing. It's one of those free apps with only three layers and basic tools. And I forgot to mention something. When I decided to practice drawing foals, I chose to ponify the main character from "Detective Conan/Case Closed" for this. And I decided to draw a second character from the same series. I tried a new angle and looked at some of my pony toys as reference, but it still feels awkward somehow. Also, that hair. You have no idea how hard it was to make that hair work without making her head look deformed. There's also some basic color info.
  3. I added shading, a close up of the cutie mark, and an alternate head view. However, I got too lazy to color the alternate head view. I also changed the muzzle design a bit. Edit: And then I realized that it's still a bit hard to tell what the mane style is up front. It's supposed to be messy bangs. I did some practice on foal proportions. (I don't draw a lot of foals.) However, I also found that it's surprisingly hard to put glasses on a pony. Tips? Thoughts?
  4. This is my new art thread, and let's kick it off with my OC Night Fire. (I repurposed this thread from just about my OC to a general art thread to prevent clogging up the entire art section.)
  5. Some art I did of a Huge Power Azumarill. It's also a crossover between Pokemon and Durarara. Critiques are welcome!
  6. And the altered version! I thickened the hind legs to make them less skinny and more proportionate compared to the front legs, and played with the neck. I also added a neck tie.
  7. Thanks! And now that I look at it, the hind legs are a bit skinny. Is that what was meant by proportions? I'll post an updated version in a bit.
  8. I decided to get some practice drawing ponies. I'm not quite sure the muzzle looks quite "male" enough, though. Can I get a critique of this drawing, please?
  9. This is Mapleshade from the Warriors series. I decided to test out shading and color on that new art app I got, and I think it looks pretty good.
  10. This looks amazing! I love how the eyes were done, but they feel a bit empty. I'm sure the art markers will fix that though! The mane is very nicely done as well.
  11. Turns out, ponifying characters from other series is loads of fun. I think this came out well, but I'm not sure about the bangs. I didn't want them covering the eyes, but they just look awkward to me. Thoughts?
  12. I found this drawing I did a few months ago and decided to post it. It's pretty good, but I'd like some thoughts on it. The inking lines are a but wobbly from not being used to inking, though.

    Hi!

Hi, I'm new to this forum but not to the fandom! (I've been a pegasister since 2011.) Anyway, I'm 17, and I hope that this forum is as friendly as some of the other forums I've found.
  14. @Tromino: No tutorials! I used some reference images for the head shape, mane and tail, but that's all. @MyLittleParody: Legs seem to get longer every time I draw ponies in my style. It is starting to get a bit out of hand, so I'll keep that in mind. @Frith: I was aiming for less show accuracy and more my own style.
  15. It's Doctor Whooves, and this was my first time drawing him. I feel that the neck is a bit thin, but I'm not sure, especially since it's somewhat in my art style. Thoughts?
