  1. I've yet to see one factually good reason why a brony would ever reject the title. "It's masculine" is not a good reason (it's proven to be gender- and age-neutral). "Because I don't want to be associated with the fandom" is one of the dumbest reasons and makes me question your loyalty to the product at large.

Hmmm... The latter can actually be a good reason, if you simply like the product, but don't see yourself as someone who needs to be seen as part of a specific fandom then, or are not that much into the show. But it makes no sense when you're actually interacting with other fans and spend a lot of your time on product related things, though.

It makes no sense because you're scapegoating the fandom and influencing your lack of enjoyment in some way. If you're so swayed by the fandom to the point of scapegoating them, then I question your appreciation for the product itself.

Also, a fan of FIM = brony. They're one of the same, and by following the product, you're involved in the fandom, even if it's passive.

      ("You" is used in general.)

(My knowledge of the English language is not that bad. ^_^)

Yeah, I see your point. Well, I guess it has also to do with people's aversion to being labeled.
