I could understand it if Dash had believable reasons for doing what she did, such as Sweetie Belle sabotaging Sapphire Shores's headdress. But she doesn't here.

A lot of fans would argue that Rainbow doesn't always act with the best judgment, even when it comes to seemingly trivial issues. Its established that Rainbow is incredibly self conscious and sensitive despite her exterior appearance, and like in Read it and Weep she can sometimes overreact and do stupid decisions simply out of irrational fear and thoughts.

This episode is most definitely not black and white. It really is because of the fact that they equated a temporary loss with a permanent loss (by implication) that causes most of the debate on this. It actually makes "Castle Sweet Castle" look worse IMO for the padding of its A-plot and relative lack of focus on Twilight.
