  1. Rewatching Paddington (the 2014 film) today after watching it for the first time last night. Why didn't I see it sooner?! It's funny, wholesome, imaginative, and (on the whole) great. The pacing is remarkable; and the creativity's so crisp, clean, and spectacular; and even the littlest details and gags pay off at the end. This is far beyond your stereotypical live-action "kids' films w/ CGI attached" that pander to young children, like Scooby Doo, or Smurfs, Garfield, or Alvin. Paddington treats adults and kids alike with equal respect and dignity. Overall, a great film.

      I watched Paddington for the first time recently on a whim & I agree with your review 100%.

      I'd heard of Paddington but had never read anything associated with him so,

      this movie was a pleasant surprise that far exceeded my expectations.

      Also, I thought the "pop-up book" effect they used is amazingly creative way to show what the

      family was doing in their house.

      @Tacodidra Thanks. ^_^

      @Key Sharkz Indeed. Being released in January in the States (a bad month for film) didn't help matters, either.

      @Sparklefan1234 Paddington has such a naïve, innocent worldview, so we see almost the whole film in his eyes, and all the creativity adds to the atmosphere and his character. Yet, his kindness and generosity impact everyone around him, even the roughest of individuals.
