  1. The mass shooting in New Zealand yesterday is pure right-wing, white supremacy terrorism. People like Trump and their racist, threatening rhetoric are directly responsible for it and its increase over the past two-plus years.

@TwilySparky There's no "both sides" at all. Left-wing terrorism has declined following the Cold War. Right-wing terrorism, OTOH, has risen. Last year, white-supremacist propaganda activity rose by 182%, and almost all of the attacks were by right-wing extremists. Of the 313 killed last year by right-wing terrorism, more than 3/4 were by white supremacists.

      Quote

Quite literally the other side of the world, why even bring Trump into it?

The terrorist himself, a hardened Trump supporter, credited him (along with Brevik) for the creation of his neo-Nazi manifesto and the extreme ideology he embodies and practices.

      Quote

but calling him a "white supremacist" and part of the "alt-right" is just flat out wrong.

      Wrong.

      1. Intentionally stokes the fear and hatred of minorities, notably Latinos and Muslims. His travel ban, border wall, and crusade against sanctuary cities are all prime examples.
      2. Referred to Haiti and African countries (predominant homes of people of color) as shitholes.
      3. Completely ignores the Latino-dominant Puerto Rico, which is still struggling following Maria.
      4. Directed the rise of birtherism by accusing Obama of not being a naturalized citizen.
      5. Nominated Jeff Sessions, one of the most conservative Republicans, who continued to stoke the War on Drugs and voted "no" to the Civil Right.
      6. Trusts the words of white-supremacist pundits and "reporters" from Fox News over his own intel.
      7. Downplays and reluctantly condemns white supremacists, and there's a big reason why. White supremacists and right-wing Republicans (most of them Caucasian) ARE his base!
      8. Intentionally attacks the media/press as the enemy of the people, an authoritarian tactic. His administration also made Wikileaks a hostile intelligence agency.
      9. Recently issued violent rhetoric while interviewed by Breitbart.
      10. His racism and bigotry as a whole empower white supremacists to be more open in what they say and how they act. Trump gives them a platform.

Trump is the face of the cult-right, the face of the Republican Party, and is a white supremacist, period.

Yeah... no. You are dead wrong with that. Antifa and the Black Lives Matter terrorist groups are examples of far-left organizations.

Honestly, I can't take that "evidence" since it's from the ADL. The ADL is pretty heavily biased even saying that milk and the ok hand sign are hate symbols which is absolutely ridicolous.

I really want to know where you get this evidence from. I would like to see evidence based on sources that are as unbiased. Hell, show me some statistic and I'll be happy.

A hardended Trump supporter? Where did you get this from? I have heard of him crediting Brevik but I don't know where it says anything about Trump. Plus, he expliciting states in his manifesto that does associate himself with neo-nazis and that he calls him an eco-fascist. Yes, his manifesto might have some strange views in there but please at least try to skim through before false information like that is spread.

      travel ban

Obama had a travel ban. One that lasted for 6 months mind you.

      border wall

Yeah, his border wall idea is a bit botched but it is a good idea if done the right way. Take this anyway you want but a bunch of mexicans trying to get over the border and getting into America without being legal is a big no no. Mexicans as is every other race and people from different countries need to go through the process of becoming a legal citizen. Yes, this can takes years at times, but it is the only way to do it legally.

Sancutary cities that host a bunch of illegal immigrants. These people are in the United State of America illegally.

I wouldn't exactly call them shitholes but it is well known that African countries are among the poorest countries in the world. Yes, they are still developing and won't be as much of a "shithole" eventually.

Reluctantly condemns white supremacy? I'm pretty sure he fully codemns white supremacy. If he were in any supporting white supremacy, I think he be out of office by now.

I still personally wouldn't call him a racist though. Yes, he is a loud mouth and has said some really stupid shit, but I wouldn't say it's in a "racist" manner. The thing with Trump and white supremacy is that most actual white supremacist and neo-nazis condemn Trump due his association with Israel.

      1. Antifa isn't merely not a terrorist organization. It's not an organization at all. It's a catch-all term for anti-fascist, usually from the anarchist spectrum. Antifa is an ideology, not a group.
      2. BLM isn't a terrorist organization, either. It has continued to expose what it's been doing since the start of the decade: the systemic racism against African-Americans, from militarization of police to police brutality of AAs, to the disappearance of black wealth following Wall Street's collapse, to conservative District Attorneys persecuting people of color, to redlining. The right-wing slander of BLM is based on lies and misinformation.

I really want to know where you get this evidence from.

It's in the second link (an ADL PDF) in my status reply.

And I have severe disagreements with the ADL (its unwavering support of Israel, opposition of BDS, and recent vile smearing of Ilhan Omar *thumbs down*), but when it comes to researching hate crimes and domestic terrorism, they're usually thorough and on the mark.

      Quote

A hardended Trump supporter? Where did you get this from?

From reports of the manifesto itself. Here and here are two of 'em.

      Quote

Obama had a travel ban. One that lasted for 6 months mind you.

      False.

      Quote

Yeah, his border wall idea is a bit botched but it is a good idea if done the right way.

      1. The border wall is a gigantic waste of finance based on right-wing, nationalistic propaganda. We have no business turning people escaping tyranny and hopelessness from their home countries away. They deserve the right to step in this country, take refuge ("legally" or "illegally"), seek asylum, and become citizens.

What determines a good country is their ability to help the most vulnerable. Demonizing their citizen status, splitting families apart, snatching babies from their parents, locking them up in concentration camps and for-profit prisons, and using the rogue ICE to terrorize communities contradicts the humane values a good country SHOULD stand for.
      2. Most undocumented immigration doesn't come from escaping Mexico. Where does it mostly come from? Overstayed visas. Building a neo-Berlin Wall won't solve anything.

We should be building bridges, both figuratively and literally, instead.

      Quote

Honestly, I would like to see evidence that backs this up.

      1. Fox News is his favorite channel, watches it all the time, and references it often in his tweets.
      2. Trump shut down the government after big-named Fox News pundits unleashed heat on the president for considering to sign a bipartisan bill that didn't have a border wall budget.
      3. Trump's lack of trust with intel is deep. And after intel concluded that Saudi Arabia plotted to assassinate Jamal Khashoggi, he chose to remain allied with Saudi Arabia.
      Quote

      Reluctantly condemns white supremacy?

Yes. His condemnations of white supremacy are much softer than condemnations of Ilhan Omar, black football players who kneel during the anthem, "illegal" immigrants, and Muslims, to name a few. White supremacists are his primary base, and he panders to them in his rallies; that is a fact.

      Quote

I still personally wouldn't call him a racist though.

He absolutely is a racist, and all his actions back it up.
