I need to see Hazbin Hotel soon.

>tfw you signed on to the MLPF thirteen years ago today…
Man, time really flies, eh?

Jeric, we love you and miss you dearly. Hopefully, you and Jessi are celebrating your birthday together.
Happy birthday, my friend.
-
Happy birthday, @Shiny Silvermoon!
-
@Dark Qiviut Thanks! I don't know why people keep doing this but you should try again tomorrow since it's the wrong date!

Sucks that Billy Wagner missed by five votes, but with a good chunk of voters having three (or four, if voted for Sheffield) ballots slots cleared, he has a shot to get in. Plus, next year is his last, so hopefully he'll get a boost (ala Tim Raines, Edgar Martinez, & Larry Walker, all of whom got in at the end). 🤞

Congratulations, Adrian Beltre, Todd Helton, & Joe Mauer on being elected to the Baseball of Fame!
-
In less than 24 hours, who will be elected to the Baseball Hall of Fame by the writers will be announced (January 22, 6pm Eastern).
If I was a BBWAA writer and had a vote for the Baseball Hall of Fame, I'd fill the maximum of ten people. Out of all of the people in this ballot, these would be my ten:
- Bobby Abreu: A sneakily consistent hitter who finished with 400 stolen bases and a .395 on-base percentage.
- Adrian Beltre: 3,000 hits, 477 homers, 94 WAR. First-ballot Hall-of-Famer.
- Mark Buehrle: One of the most consistent and durable pitchers in his time, athletic on the mound, quick to the plate.
- Todd Helton: 2,500 hits, a career slash line of .316/.414/.539, and played all 17 years with one team (Colorado).
- Joe Mauer: Three batting titles in a four-year stretch, all as a catcher. 2009 AL MVP. A career .306 hitter.
- Francisco Rodriguez: Nicknamed K-Rod for his flair for the dramatic after striking out hitters, has the single-season save record (62), and finished with more than 400 saves. One of the best relievers in the 21st century.
- Jimmy Rollins: Phillies' all-time hit leader, 470 steals, 2007 NL MVP, helped lead Phillies to 2008 World Championship.
- Gary Sheffield: One of the last players in this current crop to finish with more walks than strikeouts. Almost won the 1992 NL Triple Crown, .292 career hitter, 2004 AL MVP runner-up, 1997 World Champion.
- Billy Wagner: Best left-handed reliever in baseball history. 422 career saves. Career 187 ERA+ #2 all-time among pitchers with 900+ innings (behind Mariano Rivera's 205).
- David Wright: A really solid player for a good chunk of his career, the Mets' last captain, 7-time All-Star, 242 homers second-most in Met history (Darryl Strawberry's 252). He's in danger of falling off, so I'd give him one to stick around.
Andruw Jones a temporary drop.
Would also add Carlos Beltran if the ballot maximum was twelve. Manny and A-Rod failed PED tests (Manny's second failed test led to his abrupt retirement).

*petting my happy void beside me* 🐈⬛

@Samurai Equine Eeyup! One of my two cats.
("Void" is internet slang for a black cat.)

"Apples to the Core" is still so great to listen to, but it still feels more complete listening with bronies young and old clapping along.

Happy New Year, everybrony!
Welcome to 2024, MLP Forums!
-
As 2023 will close in about 2 hours here, let me say "toda" ("thanks" in Hebrew) to everyone who followed my 120-pound weight-loss triumph over the past two years. Posting about my journey, chronicling all of my power walks, and the responses are a major confidence booster; they keep me going.
2024 is approaching. Not only do I wanna keep the weight down. I still have my goal of losing more weight. Maybe my walks may become longer, too? Hmmmmmm…
I enjoyed 2023. Can't wait for 2024.
-
@Props Valroa @Samurai Knuckles Chao Thanks, you two! Happy New Year!
Quote...Is "toda" pronounced the same as "ta-da"?
Not exactly. Pronounced more as "tow-DA."

Every solstice (both winter & summer), the English Heritage YouTube channel broadcasts sunrise at Stonehenge live.
They're doing that right now. The sun will rise in front of the Heel Stone soon.

Ho-ly shit, what a walk.
Last Sunday, I walked over 13.85 miles.
Today, in celebration of Hanukkah's last night, I walked (and jogged) more than 14.1 in just over five hours.
-
Happy 8th (and final) night of Hanukkah, everybrony! 🕎
-
Can't wait to celebrate the last night of Hanukkah with a walk tomorrow.
I almost got to 14 miles last time. Let's see how far I go here.
