How about an episode with all four princesses as the main characters? That I would like to see! -
How the Movie should have been
twilightsparkle3562 replied to twilightsparkle3562's topic in My Little Pony: The Movie (2017)
Well, I manage autism and felt uncomfortable to the point where I had autism related sensory overloads at the tense scenes. -
In regards to the MLP movie that came out last week, which I watched online by the way, I do not consider it to be a BAD movie, just okay. I think the animation is great, the tense scenes made me feel VERY UNCOMFORTABLE and gave me Autism related SENSORY OVERLOADS. There were a few parts I liked, but not enough to think this movie is the best of the year. Had the movie been like a slice of life comedy with cinematic elements rather than the epic adventure film that it was, then perhaps I would have liked the movie more. With all due respect, I will stick to the TV series more than the movie.

More of Twilight Sparkle crying
twilightsparkle3562 replied to twilightsparkle3562's topic in MLP:FiM Canon Discussion
Well, the CMCs had cried before: 1. Sweetie Belle: .One Bad Apple .For Whom the Sweetie Belle Toils 2. Scootaloo: .Sleepless in Ponyville .Flight to the Finish .Parental Glidance. 3. Apple Bloom: I'm not really sure if we have seen her cry in anything. Speaking of which, I have a really good idea for Season 8 if they decide to do Twilight's "big cry": A possible episode I would like to see happen: "Princess Problems": Twilight, Celestia, Luna and Cadence gather with Equestria's leaders for Equestria's Royal Summit. But, one Equestrian leader makes an enemy in the Princesses when he vows to run his country his way. When Twilight works hard to get him to see sense, her valiant efforts may all be for nothing. Yes, beside the point, I am talking about an episode starring ALL 4 Alicorn Princesses as the main characters. We've seen it with Celestia and Luna in "A Royal Problem," and Twilight and Cadence in "Once Upon a Zeppelin." What's more, I think Twilight can have a MUCH bigger crying scene than in the movie or in "Once Upon a Zeppelin." Since we didn't see her comforted in "Zeppelin," it would have to be all three of her fellow princesses to do so. Plus, give them all character development while taking in the lessons they learned this season, maybe even all three of them sing to Twilight to try and comfort her. -
I was wondering about what the movie should have been about that would have made it more applicable to people like me: . Keep all the main characters as well as the new ones they would meet Capper, Captain Celano and her pirate crew and then they would meet the Hippogriffs, just like the movie. .The Friendship Festival does goes on, but is interrupted not by the Storm King's armada, but by a messenger from a kingdom in the lands south of Equestria, saying that the Storm King has conquered the messenger's kingdom and he has his eyes set on Canterlot. Heeding this, Celestia sends Twilight and her friends to the lands of south Equestria to try and stop the Storm King from attacking Canterlot. While they go on their journey, Celestia, Luna and Cadence order that Canterlot postpone the festival and be locked down as a precaution. .However, just as they arrive at the overthrown kingdom, Twilight and her friends are confronted by Tempest Shadow and Grubber, who takes an immediate dislike to Twilight and demands that she surrender her magic. When they try to fight them and the Storm Guards, they are blasted off of a bridge and down a waterfall. From there, they go on to meet Capper and all the other characters just as they do in the movie. .Tempest meets the Storm King the same way as in the movie and says that in order to prepare for the attack on Canterlot, he must have the magic of all four alicorn princesses to power his staff. However, knowing that there would be some resistence and that Twilight was on the run, he sends Tempest after Twilight while he launches a full scale assault on the locked down Canterlot and turning the princesses to stone himself, not Tempest, and ordering that ponies who couldn't escape are captured and enslaved. Plus, the Princesses at least attempt to fight the Storm King themselves, but are unable to defeat him. This way, they aren't being viewed as useless as they did in the movie. .After Tempest captures Twilight following her Post-Seaquestria argument with her friends, she brings Twilight back to the now captured Canterlot and Twilight is brought to the throne room. From there on, the climax is as the same as the movie. But, there is a slight difference: the group of ponies that had escaped the attack return and fight the Storm King's forces like Lyra, Bon Bon, and the Cutie Mark Crusaders upon being freed from their cages. During the fight, Storm King betrays Tempest like in the movie and is defeated the same way: being turned to stone and breaking into pieces when he hits the ground. .From there, the ending remains the same with Tempest revealing her real name is Fizzlepop Berrytwist.

More of Twilight Sparkle crying

Thought you were being serious for a second there. Don't you agree with me on Twilight crying scenes more in the future? -
To me, I think the movie is just okay, reminding me of the Disney films of the late 80's and early 90's. But it's just that some of the tense scenes (like the initial siege of Canterlot and seeing the princesses turned to stone, ponies being enslaved, chained and caged for example) made me feel VERY uncomfortable and gave me autism related sensory overloads, thus ruining the movie experience for me. This is not the first time this has happened to me in the franchise however. I got sensory overloads and felt very uncomfortable while watching "The Return of Harmony," "Twilight's Kingdom," and a few of the slice of life episodes. Plus, I am a fan of the princesses and I wasn't happy that they were treated so poorly. For myself, had the movie been like a slice of life comedy instead of an epic adventure drama, the movie COULD have worked for me a little more. But, it is what it is and I am glad that the movie is getting a huge liking from a majority of bronies in the community. The movie is for some people and for others, it's not and that's okay. We need to respect others opinions of the movie. Other than that, the movie does have potential to spawn a trilogy of films similar to Equestria and the Toon Boom animation, while initially weird to look at, does make the details stand out.

More of Twilight Sparkle crying

I would never want to see her miserable in any way, but I would like to see more moments like this to increase her character. Twilight's not flawless and she is a work in progress. Which does need to happen. There needs to be a good reason for Twilight to cry and missing the Northern Stars was one reason along with a few others in past episodes as well as the movie. I'm just saying that she needs to have like a REALLY good crying scene like Rainbow Dash's in season 5. -

I'm not saying every episode, but at least once or twice a season. That's what I am talking about. Twilight needs to have the same kind of crying scene that Rainbow Dash had in "Tanks for the Memories." -
Will season 8 be the last?
twilightsparkle3562 replied to Mlppotterwhoovian's topic in MLP:FiM Canon Discussion
I think that there will be two more seasons of Friendship is Magic after season 8. Loose ends do need to be tied up after all and maybe the attention focuses on Equestria Girls or perhaps even a spin off. Who doesn't love spin offs? -
I agree that we need to see more of the emotional side of Twilight in the near future. Her breaking down and crying at missing the Northern Stars was one of the highlights of "Once Upon a Zeppelin" for me. Yes, I did feel bad for her and I don't mean to sound evil, but I feel that it's very important to get across out of her character. We see it frequently with Pinkie Pie, Fluttershy and Rarity, so why not Twilight? To be honest, there have been times where we should have seen Twilight break down and cry and yet, she doesn't. Sure, she shows it in a few episodes, but they are nothing on the level of her breaking down and crying in this episode

Unofficial Brony Conventions

If Southern California wants to have another Brony convention in the Los Angeles area after Equestria LA goes into the history books, here are some steps: 1. Have it at any of the airport hotels preferably LAX in Los Angeles and John Wayne Airport in Orange County. It's a lot easier for people flying in from out of state. 2. Choose a name that distinguishes itself from Equestria LA (ex. SoCal Ponycon) 3. Have the date be during a cheap weekend, but not during a holiday weekend. 4. Have a passion for wanting to run a convention or have some kind of experience 5. Do an event that involves what the area has to offer like Hollywood and any of the California theme parks. -

For those of you planning to attend Equestria LA, it's a good thing you are doing it because this is last ever con they will ever do. https://equestriala.com/2017/the-final-curtain/?platform=hootsuite I am actually not all that surprised. I've said it before that Southern California is expensive to hold a Brony Convention, particularly in the Los Angeles area. But, look at it this way: BABSCON in San Francisco and Everfree Northwest in Seattle will benefit strongly from this. -
Unofficial Brony Conventions

That's true, the UK does have BronyScot, but it seems like its only for people that live in Scotland and for the northern United Kingdom in general. I'm actually very surprised that London is not the most popular choice to hold a con, given that it is the most populous city in Europe. A con in London could attract not just people from the UK, but from global destinations, make it sort of International. However, I think that Manchester has proven with BUCK that it is more capable of hosting a Brony Convention, than London from what you are saying. What I think should happen is that a con should be held at one of the airport hotels since it would be easier for people flying in from overseas destinations. Everfree Northwest in Seattle, WA has been doing it for several years, hosting their con right at the airport, and it has not only become the second biggest Brony Convention on the circuit, but also a classified non profit organization as well. If the UK follows this or a similar kind of plan, then before you know it, the UK will have a Brony Convention to call its own again. -

If the UK wants to re-enter the Brony Con scene, perhaps maybe hold a Brony Convention in London itself, since there are plenty of hotel and convention centers to choose from. It would attract more people than say Manchester. Although I would think that Leeds might be another good option. That venue they had for UK Ponycon last year, that Holiday Inn at that museum, seems very attractive. -

Orlando would have been great because what could have been done an event where a select group of attendees would have attended Disney World for a day with one of the special guests. They are doing that at Equestria LA this year with a small group of people heading to Disneyland with Andrea Libman. -

I tried them once to consider maybe shifting over to Orlando, because I thought it would attract more people, but they said no. -

There is Grand Brony Gala in Tampa, FL this coming June 2018 if you'd be interested. I don't know if you are a fan of Pony Meets World, but it's creator, Joey-O, whom I am very good friends with by the way, is more than likely going to be there. -

Perhaps Calgary or Edmonton for Western Canada and Toronto and Montreal for Eastern Canada. And yeah, Ashleigh Ball is coming to Everfree next year which was announced at closing ceremonies. Plus, I'm glad to hear that the Canadian Brony Convention Circuit is NOT on its last legs. -

Hmm, I guess you do make a valid point about holding your con in February and "taking my business" really is kind of moot to say the least. However, I live in Massachusetts and know just exactly what Februrary winters are like. You should definetly come down to Seattle one day. It's actually one of the best run cons on the circuit. They have children first in line for Q and A during panels and classify themselves as a Non-Profit Organization. Not to mention that if you are big into fanfiction, Everfree Northwest is the main hub for the fanfic writers of the Brony fandom. However, Canada does deserve a Brony convention, just not in Vancouver. Like I said, BronyCAN was just too close to Seattle in both location and timing. Maybe some other Canadian cities might have a chance: Toronto, Montreal, Calgary, Edmonton, etc. -

Yeah, from the looks of it, Running of the Leaves seems to be a very badly run con. I mean, they are holding their convention in FEBRUARY for crying in loud which is bad because its in the dead of winter which is when it is Snowmageddon in Colorado. I don't know what other things are going on, but I won't be taking my business to them anytime soon. -
Unofficial Brony Conventions
twilightsparkle3562 replied to twilightsparkle3562's topic in Sugarcube Corner
Probably would make one of the unofficial Midwest cons. If we had to choose be region, it would be the following: Eastern United States: Bronycon in Baltimore, MD Trotcon in Columbus, OH Central United States: Whinny City Pony Con in Chicago, IL Ponyville Ciderfest in Milwaukee, WI Western United States: Babscon in San Francisco, CA Everfree Northwest in Seattle, WA I think that had BronyCAN not be located in Vancouver near Seattle and instead located in say, Toronto or Montreal, it would have had a better chance of survival. Trust me, they had just too much competition with Everfree Northwest. -

twilightsparkle3562 replied to twilightsparkle3562's topic in Sugarcube Corner
True, but Everfree Northwest should be an unofficial con. They specialize in allowing kids to be first in line for panels; be the unofficial fanfiction hub for the fandom and is a non-profit organization. -
So, with the news that Nightmare Nights in Dallas is ending, it brings about the question of which Conventions will go long into the future. The only way the circuit is going to survive for the foreseeable future is that the market has to consolidate to a few official cons, maybe 5 or 6 long term. Any other cons will need to either come back every other year or just go for one year and then go into the history books. These proposed long term cons are: 1. Bronycon in Baltimore, MD 2. Everfree Northwest in Seattle, WA 3. BABSCon in San Francisco, CA 4. Trotcon in Columbus, OH 5. Galacon in Ludwigsburg, Germany What do you think?
