the human thing about the ponies is that they are somewhat anthropomorphic, i.e. animals with human characteristics. in the show, they are shown having individual personalities, show emotions, live in buildings, and use tools, just like humans, despite being bi-pedal creatures. so they're very human in the way the ACT, but are built around a bi-pedal horse-like form. ^^

so in that sense, it's not weird that there are people out there that clop to ponies. however, not everyone does it, and the ponies in the show are portrayed with zero sexual content at all.

Also please note that these ponys also can walk on 2 feet making them even less like animals
