  1. I decided to record myself singing the song from the Goof-Off. If you want to hear my bad singing and iPod mic, I guess I could upload it to YouTube.

*That my throat and all that opens up, and I naturally sound better. Honestly singing quieter is harder to do, because I can get higher notes much easier when I am singing them very loudly ;p. compared to singing them reserved and shy, where I cannot really sing them without getting tension.

*getting higher notes can be harmful to both your vocal chords, and your tone quality.

Instead of having the tension there, and singing from your throat, try and sing from down in your diaphragm, basically think of it as your stomach, and when you breath, try and breath deep down, and then push from deep down, it will help naturally get rid of tension in your throat.

Another place that you may not want to have tension, or more so air really in is your nose, Idk if you had air in your nose, because I cannot really tell due to the mic quality(not your fault, honestly my mic isn't the most amazing quality ever.) but try not to let any air go through your nose when singing, or you'll get naselly or weird noises in your tone, try and focus your air through your mouth as much as possible
