Sure. but its nice having a fallback in emergencies, and also having a large enough store that stuff you might not know you will need until you need it is in stock. I have lived out in the sticks, and not being able to get electronic supplies other than via mail order sucks; I also won't know what I feel like eating until I feel like eating it, and while I could just make do with whatever I already have, if I can hop in the car and five minutes later am buying what I actually want at the supermarket, I will do that.
