On December 4, 1984, Governor Michael S. Dukakis signed a bill raising the drinking age from 20 to 21 in Massachusetts. This bill was in response to the National Minimum Drinking Age Act which would reduce federal highway funding by 10% for any state that did not adopt a drinking age of 21. Those under 21 can, however, consume alcoholic beverages provided by their parents or grandparents on private premises.

INTERESTING.
note: i still most likely won't though, for multiple reasons. but hey, now everyone from massachusetts that reads this knows. you're just not allowed to buy it or get it from a friend or anything. and also, since wikipedia isn't the most trustworthy of sources, try figuring out this mess of text if you want extra verification. i gave up after a minute but the part that sounds about right is:
QuoteFor the purpose of this section the word ''furnish'' shall mean to knowingly or intentionally supply, give, or provide to or allow a person under 21 years of age except for the children and grandchildren of the person being charged to possess alcoholic beverages on premises or property owned or controlled by the person charged.
man laws are written in a way i don't like. it's like word salad.
btw: i am not responsible for whatever you do after reading this
y'know i just realized that maybe some people shouldn't see this. the way it's written doesn't exactly set a minimum age for when parents can give it to children... we don't need any drunk 6 year olds.
also this became a lot longer because in the case that i am wrong and misinterpreted the word salad that is the law, since i am not perfect, and/or wikipedia either was not clear or just plain wrong, i don't want anyone to blame me for their actions
so while we're here,
hi, how are you today?
