    hey you know what might be a better idea than jail for drugs? mandatory rehab. doesn't completely destroy the person's life with years out of society and being considered a criminal, and helps the person instead of them just being a tool for prison profit.

    idk i'm just thinking about shit at 5 am so maybe this idea is flawed or something but it sounds pretty good to me atm

      I guess the drug thing is so much punished for the fact, that someone who has drugs, might also be selling them to other people, which in that case, can even kill other people because of the drugs. So, someone who has or uses drugs, might have killed someone else, because he could also sell them or share them. So i guess in a sense, they could be murders.
