  1. The posers, hipsters, and phonies who feel more like they're pretending to like the show more than they actually do The elitists who cram the show down other people's throats Grimdark AND Rule 34 stuff makers. I swear they're out to make us all look bad as well as troll us And I'm gonna in trouble for this next one, but.... The people who put backgrounders on a golden pedestal and try to make major characters out of friggin' extras
  2. If they were a little less meddlesome, I'd be a lot more cool with them. It's really DHX's show...but Hasbro holds the purse strings and can make/change/break rules as they see fit...
  3. Ever since I first learned of this episode, I wasn't impressed or excited. They ALREADY have superpowers and have been dealing with monsters & villains since day one. Putting them in colorful tights changes little. Now that I've seen the episode...I'm still unimpressed. Heck, I found it kinda annoying -_- Granted, the powers angle was more amusing than I thought it would be, giving them different moves than usual--or at least exaggerating the ones they had--and the scene of them first trying to use them and backfiring was indeed pretty funny. In fact, I had more fun watching Rarity use her power ring than I did in all of the Green Lantern movie! And Fluttershy hulking out was funny--though it would've worked better if one of her actual friends had been hurt (like that time in the IDW comic) instead of a random firefly What hurts the episode is the focus on Spike having sudden complex about being useless. The third act brings up how he's helped out a lot over the series--in a fairly heavy handed fashion, no less--that makes the episode's focus/moral a tad redundant. But my biggest problem is the Mane-iac. I get that she supposed to be an over-the-top caricature of evil/crazy supervillains, but my Celestia if that laugh (and those mane puns) didn't get old quick! She used that maniacal laugh like it was part each sentence, cackling at the beginning and end of almost every phrase (at least on or the other)...and it was just annoying as buck! I'll admit it wasn't so bad--in fact, it was little better than I thought it would be--but I don't think I'll want to watch it again anytime soon...
  4. Thing is, if we were going to have Seaponies, I think it would've happened by now with popping up in the rivers, lakes and ponds of Equestria (and don't get technical. The ones from Gen 1 showed up in bodies of water that weren't the sea either). Though to be fair, we haven't been to a beach/sea/ocean yet. Maybe the creative staff is just waiting for the right opportunity. Celestia knows it would be a good opportunity to market bath/pool toys (though Hasbro can be really stupid) And while I'm at it...you think they could bring Steven back with them. It would be fairly appropriate XD
  5. Eh, don't think much of it. I don't! As another theme song I love said: Please repeat to yourself, "It's just a show. I should really just relax!"
  6. Exactly. Heck this thread is mainly for people who've read the comic beforehand (sorry), but I'm trying to avoid spoilers for everyone else. Thanks Hasbro Though be fair, most comic books have content you won't see in most TV Shows based on them
  7. Calling it now: Cadence will get pregnant (way to go, Shining! ) and give birth to Skyla -Equestria Games. The question is: will it be a stand alone episode or a two-parter? -Rarity episodes -Holiday episode -At least of the CMC gets their mark - An episode or two in a different setting -A long overdue Celestia episode. The gal needs some real focus stat, if just to cut down on all this Trollestia/Molestia/Tyrant nonsense. -Another sapient species. Though the return of a previous one would be nice. -More one-shot character returns would be nice. If Harshwhinney can come back, why not someone we really want to see again? - A new mythical whatzit, and maybe the return of a previous one. -More information about the Mane 6's past/families (and hope for as little retconning as possible). In particular, an episode about how the other 5 came to live in Ponyville & met sounds good Also hopes for: Cameos by Gen 1 characters (hey, I can dream, can't I?) (Firefly as Dash's mom FTMFW!) Tirek (ditto! Though they might want to save him for later. He's Series Finale material!) Sea ponies (Cause, why not? ). Or any creatures from Gen 1 for that matter. It WOULD be interesting...
  8. I doubt it. She's needed to antagonize the CMC and since she and Spoon had their Season 2 development thrown out the window in their very next appearance... I think it would be too little, too late .And even if they tried, I don't think it would stick/people wouldn't buy it. Though I'm in agreement that they need more depth beyond being bitchy bullies. At the very least, them and the CMC could be "frenemies".
  9. When I saw them in the new Group Pic, I thought "They're giving those idiots a bigger role?!? :o" Everyone else has shown up a lot, made themselves useful, or has potential (it would be nice if the Mayor was more helpful). These two? ...what...the...buck? :okiedokielokie: Their spot couldn't have gone to someone more worthy like Cheerilee, Wonderbolts members, Discord, Shining Armor & Cadence, Diamond Tiara & Silver Spoon, or someone else more worthy?!? Heck, trying give them bigger roles almost sounds like even worse shark bait than Twilicorn!
  10. Now I'm not saying they should adapt storylines from the IDW comic. Heck, I feel quite the opposite. Though I would like to see some elements thrown in somehow. For example-- Troll Jim For starters, the idea of trolls in Equestria sounds almost logical. And it would be pretty funny to see him play with one of our heroines like how people do with pony dolls IRL and the rest be all "WTF?! :o" Chubacabra and/or Jackalopes I mean, why not? Even without that classic bit with Fluttershy (though that would be a hoot! ) it's always neat when a mythical monster shows up (some of the show's best moments, after all) Stuff from the "Micro-series" Heck, a lot of those feel like stuff that could happen on the show anyway! Supporting Characters to the rescue! Remember how Issue 8 had supporting characters & backgrounders battling the Nightmare Forces? How cool would it be if something similar actually happened on the show? Celestia knows it would be nice to see the lesser characters pitch in during a crisis for once... Spike sending a letter only to belch out a form letter A Big Macintosh episode with elements from the "Zen and the Art of Gazebo Repair" story, if just to see him get the spotlight (they'll likely do that someday...) How about you guys? What events or characters--or something similar--would you like to see without the shackles their comic storylines?
  11. The problem is, once the CMC get their marks, what exactly can the writers DO with them? :\ It's getting kind of old, but having characters achieve their goal before the story is over ain't good either...
  12. I'm not excited for this one at all. They already HAVE special abilities and have been dealing with villains and monsters since Day 1. Giving them colorful costumes changes little. If it's fun & entertaining, then so much the better. But as of now I just I'm just not feeling it
  13. Nope! I have deeply enjoyed the season thus far. The show's gotten its old spark back! Oh, I'm sure there will be a bad episode or two (I'm already preparing my bunker for the next Meriwether Williams episode) But for now I'm having a pretty good time. Bronies are a superstitious, cowardly lot!
  14. My reactions: Oh hey, it's our favorite put-upon straightwoman! Didn't think we'd see her again! Coming soon to Equestria TV: The Odd Couple, starring Rainbow Dash and Ms. Harswhinney! Hey, Snips and Snails are in the Theme Song group picture (even though they so don't deserve it), so maybe he has a point. AHA! Some acknowledgement about the Horse thing! Cutie Mark Crusaders First-Song-of-the-Season-Singers, YAY! "Um, yeah..." It's been 58 episodes, Spoon. The CMC is moving on and so are we. Tiara's may be bitchy, but she DOES have a point. Aw, cool! Individual episode promo! See Bronies? Scootaloo DOES have a place. (Now we only someone could find where she stashed her parents) "There's something you don't see everyday, Little Strongheart." Anyone else wish the episode ended with Scootaloo looking at her wings seriously Dash: Not this *bleep* again... -_- All and all, a lively, enjoyable episode in what has been a lively, enjoyable season! I wish they'd gone into more about what's up with Scootaloo, but at this point I'll take what I can get. My biggest issue with the episode with Tiara and Spoon, who are in desperate need of some development. The "bullies" thing is getting old. The really sad part is Silver, who gained some layers in "Family Appreciation Day", only to lose them as if it never happened.. :'(
