  1. Pandering to the Herd while telling everyone else in the world to screw off like many movies based on cartoon shows/anime (and, okay, some live action ones) do... Just because they put the fans first doesn't mean it can't/shouldn't be accessible to casual moviegoers.
  2. Well, they just added Liev Shreiber and Taye Diggs. This is getting interesting!
  3. While I'm not happy with it being the billionth take on A Christmas Carol--including the 100,000th time it's been done with characters from a cartoon show filling the parts--the music, animation, and cameos more than make up for it I especially got a kick out of seeing Vinyl working a phonograph and wearing early shades. And go figure Snape would be reincarnated as a Unicorn and STILL be a total dick
  4. I just don't want it to go bad like how South Park, the X Files, Simpons, and Spongebob Squarepants (and maybe some others) did after their movies. Plus, the show seems to be running out of steam, with characters accomplishing goals to where there's little left for them to do for much longer...
  5. Man... What is it with Rainbow Dash episodes being mediocre or just bad? In fact, I kept having repressed flashbacks of "Rainbow Falls" (and "Tanks for the Memories" and even *shudder* "The Mysterious Mare Do Well") of Dash doing dumb, even self-destructve things without thinking and the Wonderbolts being total jerks (Dash, do you REALLY want to join these people??? ) Also...that bit about her imitating the Other 5 wasn't as funny as it wanted to be. It was just annoying/counterproductive and gave me more repressed flashbacks of *shudder again* "Simple Ways" I'm glad things worked out in the end, but couldn't they have had that little chat sooner or done it better? Or couldn't Dash have told the Wonderbolts about how the nickname was used against her as a foal? There are better ways of making up for an embarrassing incident besides making an even bigger fool of yourself...
  6. Not, so much "rot" as "a slight change in course". Sidral makes a good point comparing S6 to S3. Hard for new people to take over while still retaining what the previous team did. Heck, any show that's been around this long would be having trouble about now. One might even venture to guess that FiM may or may not be the victim of the Shark with A) Starlight joining the cast or Flurry Heart. Though stuff "Gauntlet of Fire", "The Gift of Maude Pie" and "On Your Marks" show they still have it, while "No Second Prances" had things to enjoy outside the main story. So I'm not ready to abandon ship yet!
  7. I don't know...teasers show us precious little and simply let us know a movie is coming. Heck, sometimes what's in the teaser isn't even in the final product... That said, it might still be a while before we get one. It's over a year and a half away, and I'm not sure how much footage they have yet, especially since they're still working on Season 6.
  8. I'm going to stick to how they did in America for this one, if that's okay. The first movie did good at the BO initially, but then Toy Story 2 came along. Then the following movies got increasingly smaller distribution and advertisement until they stopped being theatrically released in America after Movie 5. Since then they get television premieres, followed by a home media release. (Though some of the recent ones have gotten limited releases). Though I'm afraid the situation has gotten bleak over in Japan, with each PokeMovie doing worse than the last at the Japanese BO (they're hoping the next one will help, but it's up in the air)
  9. I don't know now...Starlight, Sunburst, and Flurry Heart more or less cover the "bad OCs" part, while "The Cutie Re-Mark" and "The Crystalling" (and maybe a couple of others) could be potentially be charged with baiting and switching...
  10. Oh, I imagine it'll come out at a different time. Probably at a time when the when the theaters aren't SO crowded and busy. (Though as stupid as the Hasbro execs are when it comes to MLP... )
  11. I imagine it'll do about as well as most movies begat by a cartoon show. Probably a little better
  12. I had a feeling last season, and I'm feeling it more this one so far. - doing more with lesser characters, including spontaneous cameos or small-but-interesting roles, and even giving them some more depth - Pop culture/historical references with an equine twist - Lots of references to the past (though that was fairly inevitable) - A tad more mature (and maybe a little mundane) than it used to be - Mixing and matching characters one didn't think about crossing paths Now I know there are other factors, but surely I'm not the only one who's noticed or is curious.
  13. Next time someone asks why bronies & pegasisters obsess over background noise and minor characters, show them this episode. Said elements made it much more interesting and entertaining and I'm not sure I much I would've like it without them... (This oughta give Gummy something to think about) Like most folks, I'm not a fan of Starlight enough to be that involved (in fact, I fear she may be FiM's Scrappy Doo or Cousin Oliver). Oh, her and Trixie were an interesting, downright appropriate pairing...but I just wasn't feeling it . Plus, Twilight was kind of a jerk this episode! It's everything else I liked about this episode. Even the annoying smallness of the Other 5's role was softened by dem expressions Also...of all the characters to ever be in a joke about Celestia's ever flowing mane, I NEVER thought it would be Cranky!
  14. Okay, we know that Kristen Chenoweth and Emily Blunt are in this. How many more celebrities could pop up? Who would you like to hear? Who do you think actually will? For one thing, I think the Villain (and maybe henchbeasts) will get a celebrity voice. Seems, like a good time, right? I'm hoping for someone like James Earl Jones or Benedict Cumbersnatch, but am more realistically expecting, oh...Tim Curry, Christopher Lloyd, Ron Perlman or even someone like Frank Welker, Jim Cummings, or Clancy Brown. Also...if--and it's a pretty big "IF"--Starswirl somehow makes an appearance (I feel it's now or never), he should get a special guest VA too. Morgan Freeman, and Patrick Stewart come to mind, though again, I'm expecting someone "smaller" (Again, Chris Lloyd comes to mind). Not to mention voices for various supporting and minor characters who pop up along the way How do you think it could turn out?
  15. A GOOD Spike episode? What madness is this?! There's a lot to like here: Spike at the best he's been in years (again!), Ember was fun character ("Please don't make me talk about my feelings") and I hope we see her again, good animation and dialogue, and even a dragon fight! However, there's some issues that won't stop nagging my brain... Okay, a problem a lot of people had with "Dragon Quest" is that we didn't learn squat about dragons. Here, we do...and it's little more than they're just idiots and jerks like scaly, fire breathing high school students or frat boys with wings. At least the Griffins had some history and depth. We were told Ember was smart, and yet we really never saw it, and Spike kept having to give her advice or think fast when she should've. Unless, of course, it was her being smarter than the average dragon, which didn't take much. They claimed any dragon being DL would be bad, yet they got that from overhearing just 3 of them. I would've liked it better if we'd heard some other dragon's plans, or they'd done a better job at hinting they'd all suck. Don't get me wrong, I still liked it. But some times little things just add up and kinda bug me..
  16. Hey, South Park, the Simpsons, Ducktales, the Powerpuff Girls, and all those Nickelodeon Cartoons didn't end with their movies!
  17. A little bit, but probably not by much. It won't be on DiscFam, but Hasbro will be still be calling the shots, after all. For starters, I HIGHLY doubt anypony will die (except the villain of course).
  18. The same costs that almost every animated movie has to pay Also, extra for a celebrity voice over *coughStarswirlcough* And please remind me: is this 2D or CGI???
  19. Huh. That would explain why she (and other characters from previous gens) has popped up in the IDW comic...
  20. A moose who acts like a certain cartoon star who hung out with a flying squirrel
  21. That would be cool...but I highly doubt the litigation would let them
