  1. Why was that a fight? I'm not even quite sure where that matchup came from, is it because one's a robot and the other drives a robot? Because Bowser Jr. is Bowser's son and the metal buzzsaw is like Eggman's son? I'm not quite sure I get the relation. @cider float Hey, is this what you were talking about?
  2. I didn't at first. It's easy to say you're sorry after you got defeated in your demon form. There was a part of me that thought she was just making that all up to get off the hook. But, as of Rainbow Rocks, I really do forgive her. She really does seem very apologetic and seeing her get ostracized for actions she is deeply regretful of really hits me in the feels.
  3. I don't really know anything about Bill Cipher. I saw a couple episodes with Grunkle Stan (he is one of the main characters, after all) and I've seen a couple of GIFs of him to have a general gist of his personality. Unfortunately, Bill Cipher isn't in my repertoire of known characters.
  4. I knew it! Next to all the finale villains, the Flim Flam Brothers are the most heinous to ever grace the screen. Their elegance, their diction, their trickery. If it weren't for the Mane 6, Equestria would be forced to bow to their machinations! Truly the most villainous reoccurring villain. Only they could cause a terrible future with their wacky shenanigans. This is what happens when you underestimate the Super Cider Squeezy Eazy 3000. But in all seriousness, of all the terrible futures they showed, that was my favorite just out of the sheer randomness of them being the catalysts. I had to pause just laugh about it.
  5. I don't know. Seems to me that when they happen, it's usually to enforce the meaning of the Cutie Mark after the meaning has been muddled. Like getting a second Cutie Mark. However, only Applejack has noticed this. And the first time it happened to Rara, it didn't seem to be enforcing much.
  6. You know, that's a good point. I remember wondering about that myself. Exactly why does she get to get a glowing cutie mark? This doesn't seem to be a universal thing, not all the butts can glow.
  7. I question whether this was a calculated decision. With all the people voting for him purely because he didn't want to be voted for. ...I get the feeling he might be employing reverse psychology. He wants to sing so he say he doesn't want the votes, that way everyone voting for him purely because he doesn't want to is actually playing right in to his plans. If that's the case, then it's working.
  8. I don't know, Walt Disney wasn't exactly a stunning example of humanity. From what I understand, he was a taskmaster. Less cruel towards the staff, more pushing Rara til she was exhausted then pushing her some more. Yeah, Season 5 has really been pumping out some great episodes.
  9. It was... decent. Not really a bad episode but it's probably the first one up on the chopping block for episodes I don't remember. The characterization was nice but the conflict is old hat and predictable. It's a solid "meh."
  10. NOOO! Why? Why?! Everytime something comes up, it gets beaten and turned aside. Why can't we have nice things?! I just found out that there actually was World of Darkness game coming out. An MMORPG made by CCP games. It was announced in 2006 and planned for 2012. But delays happened, they started working on a new game, there were some layoffs. And in 2014, they cancelled it. Seriously, why does this keep happening?! D&D can get off multiple games in multiple timelines. Why can't White Wolf get a day in the sun? How much money do I have to spend to secure a proper game for us?

    general media Nintendo Direct Today

Posting this as I watch the Nintendo Direct. -HD Re-release of Twilight Princess? Ok, cool, but kind of weak for your opener. ...And I just bought the original again for Wii, not even for cheap. -Oh joy, Wolf Link Amiibo. That soundtrack is a better buy in than the Amiibo. -What they neglect to say is it's also the 30th anniversary for Metroid. If we don't get something about that... -"We hope anyone who ever donned the green cap will enjoy Twilight Princess HD." We already did. Like, ten years ago. -"...because we want it to live up to your expectations." Unfortunately, I don't think you'll ever live up to those expectations. Fans are a tricky thing. - "And 30 years of Zelda goodness." Wait a minute, didn't you already use that for Skyward Sword? And how did that work for you? - The Linebeck Uniform does NOT add extra depth. It just means you'll race ahead to score the best loot for yourself. - "With turn-based gameplay, strategy is key." But not nearly as key as in competitive play. That stuff's intense. - "Or you'll have to send out a rescue request to your friends." Orrrrrr give up. Ain't nobody got time for that. . - Not gonna lie, still excited for Super Mystery Dungeon. Just saying. - Was that a classic Japanese painting rendered as an Inkling? - You know, I heard Splatoon was fairly bare bones when it was first released. Now I see the logic behind it. - Makes me wonder... is there an ultra-competitive underground in Splatoon? With kill/ratio guys? -Visually striking is making it rain coins? - Dang, I'm so hyped for playing Mario Maker at home, I just GOTTA plot my course-blazing through my smartphone! - Calling everyday of Animal Crossing a roll of the dice really makes it sound more deadly than it is. - "Each move is a new day." So wait, every course is a 144 turns? That seems a bit excessive. - Somehow, Happy Points sounds even less impressive than Stars. - "You must survive for seven days." Oh my word! I never thought I'd see an Animal Crossing game exiling villagers to die unless they fight to survive. ....Where's Bob, that sucker has this coming to him after giving me a Garbage Can for my birthday. - "Hardcore Animal Crossing fans..." look, that's a pretty big assumption. Now I have to wonder about the MLG Animal Crossing community. - No longer do you need a friend to take opponents on in doubles. Bring you super trained Amiibo and have them serve your opponents up some humble pie. ...No really, I see people super training amiibos for this. - Gundam vs. Dinosaurs?! Sign me up! I'm a sucker for a good RPG. - "Metroid fans, I'm looking at you." You are most assuredly not or you would've announced something better the Galactic Federation Forces. - Badge Arcade? Laaaame! - "And even stylish hats." Quick, hide your PCs! They're aiming for the Team Fortress 2 crowd! - FAST Racing Neo. Because Nintendo has given up on F-Zero. - So... would that make Typoman the darker, grittier form of WordGirl? - You know it's important when the Powerpoint for your meeting is Very Important Meeting. - Whoa whoa whoa. The hay is Devil's Third?! - Pokken Tournament. How Pokémon Battles should look. - Oh come on! Do you really have to make Mewtwo even more special? His Mary Sue ratings are going of the charts as is! - Shadow Mewtwo, probably not related to those OTHER Shadow Pokémon we know. - Did you really need a tank to take out those two fighters? - Welp, guess Fox dumped Krystal. - Random line about Falco is random. - Fire Emblem goes the Call of Duty route and make DLC the pre-load special. - Mega Man Legacy. Because we'll be darned if we actually have to make anything new for the series. - Mega Man, now in Gold. Because what good is a toy if you can't brag about it? - We've done everything to preserve Red, Blue, and Yellow exactly as they were. All the glitches, brokenness, and weird first game pieces you can be frustrated with again. So grab your Hypno, because that's all you'll ever need. - Linkle? Genderflipped Link who dual wields crossbows and is a hunter? Ok, whose fanfic did they raid for that? - Dragon Quest VII, Chronus... thingy, Legends of Legacy, Renoa the Sky Warrior. Is it just me, or is exploring the past becoming some big kick? - Ohhhh, now I get it. Mega Man Legacy is trying to win over everybody who knows Mighty No. 9 is the true sequel to the series. - Phoenix Wright in another fighting game?! How is a lawyer getting in to so many fights?! - Cloud in Sm4sh? You mean, from the game where Square Enix finally said screw you guys to Nintendo? From a game that was never on Nintendo systems? Well, if he's allowed, I get the feeling all bets are off on who they'll allow in the game. His course looks great, though. Well all of that was a mouthful. I just realized you were talking about the Zelda game and not Twilight Sparkle. ...I've been hanging around here too much.
  12. I still think Grunkle Stan vs. Scrooge McDuck would be a good fight.
  13. Super Mario 64 (yeah, I skipped 63 games, no big deal) Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess (for as much as those count as sequels) Kirby 64 Final Fantasy XIII (oddly enough, it's a sequel and the beginning of a series) Pokémon Emerald Fallout 3 The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Metroid Prime (does that count?) Mercenaries 2: World in Flames Mario Kart 64 Yoshi's Story Honestly, provided a series has gone on long enough, a lot of games qualify for this. The amount of people who play video games and who have played the original titles grows increasingly slim as more people join the community. And some of them are drastically different, Fallout and The Elder Scrolls have moved fairly far from their roots. Of course, that's if you can't some of those as sequels. They're in the same franchise, but I'd say only a handful of those are actually something where what happened previously might actually mean anything.
  14. That's probably because they aren't the same character. Mega Man is a robot from a future with chock-filled with robots. Battle Network Mega Man is a Net Navi, he's basically a sentient computer program. In addition, I believe they're like from completely separate continuities, one where robots are the future and the other where computers are the future. I think Anakin vs. Riku might not be a bad idea. I think I saw a comparison between Star Wars and Kingdom Hearts once that compared the two. Natsu vs. Zuko is a straight up stomp in Natsu's favor though. Natsu eats fire, which is Zuko's main weapon. Which not only heals him, it also powers him up. Zuko doesn't have that same sort of defense. Considering that Natsu demolished a city block in his debut appearance and regularly makes a mess of the surroundings, he's got Zuko beat in sheer power. Granted, power isn't everything, but it is a big thing.
  15. What, nobody? I know it's no D&D, but surely the game has to have its followers. I mean, with everybody here? How can there not be an intersection between fans of a show about pastel colored ponies preaching the power of friendship and fans of a depressing world where victory is measured in how long before you loose your grip on reality? ...Wait...
  16. @@Denim&Venom I don't know. When people see gaming, most of the time they think video games. That this is not. ...Well, except for the old original Xbox game 'Hunter: The Reckoning Redeemer'. Or the unfinished PC game 'Vampire: The Masquerade Bloodlines.' In any case, I feel if I post this as a gaming thread, most people will automatically assume it's a video game and they'd prefer not to look at a game they aren't particularly interested in getting. Even if it is still a game.
  17. I find there is surprisingly few people who know of the World of Darkness, be it the original Classic/Old or the rebooted New. Which is a real pity because if you're into to dark and gothic modern fantasies, it really is a great choice. Well no more! This is the largest community I know and there are bound to be more of you ponies out there who enjoy this world. So let us congregate here to discuss it, and with luck perhaps even assemble a crew if there are such entrepreneuring ponies. And if you don't know of the franchise? Please ask! I'll gladly answer questions to the best of my abilities and I'm sure if others reply here, they might too. No but seriously, this thing needs more attention.
  18. Banishing is apparently a pretty terrible option. Because inevitably it's going to wear out and then you left another generation to deal with the same problem. And if it hasn't gotten weaker, than it's only gotten stronger. Or at least more hateful and vengeful. But I'd say it's because numbers. Celestia is powerful.... I assume (I don't see her doing much powerful things, honestly). But she's only one pony trying to channel all those elements at once. Its balanced, and probably a great feat in-universe considering how they don't work without all of them in unison. But it probably can't compare to the power of six dedicated conduits like the Mane 6.
  19. So wait, does that mean Luna was banished to the moon BEFORE she hit puberty?! Wow, that is some serious sister rivalry. Then again, if she really was younger back then, it would also give a good reason as to why she hadn't gotten over it yet. She's more adult now and doesn't seem to mind so much that nothing much has changed after her attempted coup.
  20. Rainbow Dash seems to be getting a lot of flak for being too much of an insensitive jerk in the episode. But... I actually thought it was nice to see. I don't normally care for Rainbow Dash due to her boastfulness and compulsion to look cool, but I actually rather liked her in this. She seemed a straight man to everypony else. While all the others smiled nervously and tried to cope, RD actually cut to the quick and said what was on everyone's mind. In a way, she was being way more honest than Applejack by not holding anything back. And it feels in character, because RD always has been the more impetuous one to say what's on her mind. Was she a bit of jerk? Maybe. But she was being straightforward about it, something she tends to favor over niceties.
  21. Sorry.... that comment was a lot more mean spirited than it had any business being. Still, I really hate that argument. Death Battles are an extremely subjective thing where no matter who wins, a lot of people are going to get seriously pissed off over the results. And they do try to provide some explanation for why such and such happens, even if they don't always come across as well thought out. But saying they hate anime makes it sound like they purposefully go out of their way to screw over anime fans, and I seriously doubt they are doing it because of that. And there actually are several cases where the anime character wins. Yeah, those results may not have been their best work. But I think it has more to do with where their interests lie. It is from ScrewAttack, a website about video games, so I thinks it's less that they're prejudiced against Naruto and Dragonball Z and more that they're biased towards Avatar and Kirby. ...Wait a minute, the former doesn't really add up. ...Still, I think that's more shoddy research than anything against ninjas in everything but actions. By the way, I don't know why, but I really dislike typing things up here. I had to type this all out on a separate webpage because the one here kept freezing up and requiring me to reload.
  22. Oh will just shut up!? Yes, there have been a few bad match-ups and you can't accept that anything is stronger than your beloved Goku. But they regularly match up characters from different things and, surprise surprise, anime doesn't actually always get the shaft. You're getting angry at Screwattack for results that aren't even known yet because you have a huge chip on your shoulder for them not letting Goku win. You previously provided some valid reasoning and Singe provided a suggestion about it. Then you throw that all out the window that just because Screw Attack is hosting the event, meaning the winner is predecided because they've declared all things anime inferior to their western counterparts. I'm willing to bet that if Mega Man does win, it's more to do with the fact they're more familiar with him than they are with Astro Boy. I would deeply appreciate if their was more intelligent reasons behind arguments beyond Screw Attack hates anime.
  23. Am I the only one who noticed the Sailor Moon pony? No, I'm not talking about the one Fluttershy drew (btw, surprisingly good artist she is). In the establishing shot of the Carousel Boutique, just as the CMC are running away in delight, you can see a two ponies walking nearby. The one on the right is dressed in a maroonish dress-thing and pink hair. But the one on the left? Now I'm no genius on Sailor Moon and you'll have to excuse me for the poor image quality and size. If someone would mind providing a higher quality image, I'd appreciate it. But meatball hairdo? White shirt, red scarf, blue miniskirt? Boots? Gloves... Ish. Seems to me all the pieces are in place. Apparently Fluttershy isn't the only Otaku in the town.
  24. This is probably a terrible and rather sadistic wish but... I wish New World of Darkness was reality. Because when you see a world filled with morally devoid vampires, hopelessly overwhelmed werewolves, mages fighting things that shouldn't be, victims of mercurial eldritch beings, and witch hunters who are trying to sort through all of it without knowing half of the story, who wouldn't want to be a part of that? I'm absolutely enthralled with the idea of being a Changeling. Except... the powers are cool but how you receive them is decidedly not. But I can't just wish to be one, the mechanics have to be there and it'd be even more harrowing without a Freehold there to hopefully help you. And in order to that to work, it's best to just wish everything that comes with it. It really is a terrible wish, completely selfish and dooming the rest of humanity (and the soon not-humanity) to an absolutely abysmal state of affairs. I'm sure the moral ramifications would seriously impact my Morality in the worst way.
  25. As one of his writers, I don't believe he's yet done with the storyline or characters. Or at least, he hasn't told me of them.
