    I honestly think that, in the case of 'Filli Vanilli' at least, the writers just couldn't be bothered to come up with a better way to keep Fluttershy scared of performing until the end, so they fell back on old Pinkie Pie mechanisms because it was the easiest thing to do. It is sad that they haven't bothered to evolve her too much because they're more interested in having her as a convenient character foil, even in totally inappropriate situations. I really wish they would put a bit more thought into where they apply these things.

    Yeah, the sad thing is that at it's heart, this is a show designed by Hasbro to make money, and it's a not unwelcome but still improbable stroke of luck that this particular reboot happened to be much better than the other ones. Hasbro went with the best writers and animators etc. for G4 not because they genuinely cared about how good the show turned out; it just so happened that making a good show lined up with their agenda of making money. Now, because G4 has been so popular, Hasbro has obviously seen fit to keep funding it. However, the funding is determined not by the show quality, but by how much money it makes them. So the sad truth here is that Hasbro will keep this series going until it stops making money, and whether or not FIM's creators can maintain their artistic integrity for as long as that takes will determine if this show stays good.

    Ok, yay! Could you please do my OC, Lone Blazes, if you want to? I haven't registered him in the archive, so this thread has all the information about him. Don't do this unless you want to, but I'd like it if he was in a sort of cautious pose, peering around him etc; he doesn't trust his surroundings because he's rarely in surroundings that can be trusted. Whenever you feel like it, and only if you want to. Thank you very much!

    I've never played it, although I know that it's about having a poltergeist or something. And that's there's no such thing as organic gameplay in it. " " is right. Lol, that almost makes sense though, if you imagine it working the opposite way. Rather then there being two seperate pinkies, one from a different dimension, both sharing the same dimension together, there's only one Pinkie Pie and she has to fill double duty for both. But again, she's not aware of it, and even though she's a genius, after the roiling confusion and nonsensical wierdness her brain has to work through, all that's left over is just enough brainpower to make her seem simple in social interactions.

    I have a headcanon that Pinkie doesn't actually exist in this reality, but in fact in a parallel dimension that intersects very closely with ours. Since these parallel dimensions are so close, their timelines mostly line up, and she can exist in both simultaneously, but occasionally events will differ slightly between them, and her brain will have to either deal with two full inputs, or she will blink out of one momentarily. Obviously, if a normal pony were to experience this, they would completely lose their minds, but because Pinkie Pie was born like this, she doesn't think anything of it, and she's gotten used to the things that go on around her not always making sense, because she thinks that's just the way the world works. Pinkie Pie is actually a genius; her brain is just working overtime to keep things in basic working order.

    I actually really like his polka mashups, like Polka Face or Polka your eyes out, although I guess those don't count as things he actually wrote. My favorite proper song might be the Ebay Song, just because it was the first Weird Al song I ever heard and left a big impression.

    This thread is already way too long for my response to have any significance, but I actually watched the show for the first time midway through season 2, and wasn't fully comfortable with how much I loved it until actually quite recently; just before season 4 premiered. So, I technically joined the herd very recently, although I've been there subconsciously since season 2.

    Yeah, this isn't about Rich, ok people? Fuck that guy to Oblivion and back, I could really care less about him. The injustice here is that there were SO MANY people who devoted a lot of their lives to that animation, and it was not Rich's place to invalidate that effort. I'm glad to see someone else on this forum gets it.

    I mean, really, is there any chance anypony's even going to see this? There are so friggin' many OC requests... Whatever. This is my OC blah blah blah He's an explorer, (tentatively) named Lone Blazes. He goes out on adventures and stuff and rarely meets other ponies. He knows loads of stuff about different plants and animals, but few friends etc. I'm really tired. Please draw my OC etc etc means a lot to me etc etc, you know the rest. Or don't draw him. You probably won't, anyway. Thanks for clicking this thread, though.     Hasbro seems to have an odd blind spot to sites like [the site currently being used to host the above files], seeing I've been able to find every single episode from the main show, plus this, as well as extensive collections of both Daniel Ingram's songs and ripped background music on there. We can only hope it stays that way... I know that I, at least, make sure to hoard every file I can get from these resources, so that in case they every get taken down, I'll already have everything, and I'll be able to keep distributing them in the previous distributor's stead. Copyright stuff on the internet has gotten pretty scary lately...

    This is a story I wrote a few years ago that I haven't shown anyone just because I didn't know many people; I decided putting it on the internet would gather more readers. It isn't based on any fandom; it's completely original, and I'm posting it here just because I want as many people as possible to see it. Potential Grimdark Warning: While when I was writing it I wasn't meaning for it to be particularly dark, looking back over it I realize not everyone sees things the same way as I do. For those of you of an emotionally sensitive bent, there's some screwed-up stuff in this. Again, I was actually in a pretty good mood while I wrote most of this, but even while I wasn't specifically trying to create unpleasant emotions, some readers may react in that manner.     How do you people manage to get high numbers of friends? Cause once again I got nothing but a bunch of useless stuff from relatives I never see anymore, and certainly nothing of a MLP bent. I wish I knew how to socialize so I could meet other bronies IRL
