It's commendable to try, certainly. Just be wary, though. Many folks who cry for help have this awful tendency to slap the helping hands away, so...if you want to help, be prepared for what seems like ungrateful responses. I'm no psychologist, but I'd guess that such responses are merely superficial defense mechanisms, and that they really *are* grateful deep down when someone reaches out to them.
