  1. Been replaying Fire Emblem: Rekka No Ken/ FE7 and trying out Shadow Dragon (keep going back to Awakening too, damn addiction), Sm4sh, LoZ: Ocarina of Time, and I'm probably gonna resume my 3rd playthrough of Xenoblade Chronicles soon to finally get round to 100%ing it.

  2. As a matter of situations were I've felt like I'm angtagonising the whole goddamn earth, I had situations a few months back where trying to discuss the dubious morality of Chris Kyle (America's famed sniper for those not in the know) only managed to embitter some mindless idiots into ranting about how ignorant I must be for not seeing how someone who goes out to kill people is 'doing their country good'. My stance is probably quite obvious on this but I'll neglect to go any further on the matter for fear of said instances erupting into yet another mess.

That was on Facebook in case you're wondering, and yes, I still use the site, though I've distanced myself from these people and still manage to find some semblance of enjoyment in the place.

  3. Yes, but the vivid coloring didn't help with some of the creepy atmosphere in the forest temple or the shadow temple. Plus there wasn't any real need to make the colors brighter, it was enough as it was. This was a dark type of game, making it more vivid didn't help it any.

It wasn't about making the game darker, it was about lending a fresh atmosphere and experience to the game to help make it feel new.

Same with Majora's Mask. I personally love the aesthetic changes I've seen in both games and think it's good that they've managed to breathe new life into them.

  4. Christmas means different things to different people. Some really enjoy it as a time to look forward to, whilst others may not share that sentiment it's at its core just something to feel positive about.

Everyone needs a reason to feel happy every now and then, that's why I think Christmas is and always will be important to people.

  5. I don't really care about her role in Generation I. That was almost twenty years ago, now. The fact of the matter is that in the Generation III remakes they added her as an option to play through in Kanto and become the Indigo Plateau champion. She shouldn't just be ignored/forgotten. She is one of my top favorite trainer designs in the series. And, although I started the series way back in Red, we now have Pokemon fans who began with Generation III, and their first, most important playthrough of a Kanto game might have been with Leaf.

Even for me, who started way back with Generation I, and played it to death, I prefer Leaf. Red is a good enough design (although as far as male designs go, Generation II got better), but as I said... Having played since the very beginning, I don't particularly feel anything for him. No reason that Leaf has to be ignored just because of some Generation I fans' nostalgia - Generation I fans are not the only Pokemon fans anymore.

Oh no, I agree completely. It's just that, as far as what is considered canon goes, she's not central to the original story, which is the only real reason as to why I can't see her making any kind of special return in the future.

But who knows? Nintendo can be fickle and random as hell sometimes, there's still hope :P

  6. If we're really gonna throw shit into the fan then I might as well be the one to say that apathy is worse than ignorance. It's no different than what most 1st world people do when they hear about the tragedies in 3rd world countries, they don't care, everyone just turns a blind eye to the misery of others out of apathy.

Yeah, this sounds pretty cynical, but it's also very much true and I'm not one for just ignoring what goes on in the world I live in.

  7. You act as if I didn't want a Majora's Mask remake, which is false.

Also, if you go back to my first post, you'll see quite clearly that I am blaming the fans for not demanding more from Nintendo, than I am blaming Nintendo themselves.

I can see that quite fine, but then you're simply criticising Nintendo for giving the majority of the fanbase precisely what they asked for. I understand that you're not completely satisfied with what you've seen from what is our very first look into the game, but there are a lot of people (myself included) who are, as we loved what they did with OoT3D and are very much looking forward to this too because of that.

Odds are that the game will look and run significantly better once it's finished and on our screens, but If you don't like it anyway, hey, that's fine, you're allowed to disagree with what anyone else thinks, no one's going to complain about that.

Even though it's only the very first insight we've been given into the look of the game, let alone the fact that it exists, it looks to me to be exactly what I as a fan both expected and wanted from it. And that's exactly my point, I'm not alone in this thought as I'm sure you must know, this is what we asked for, nothing more, nothing less.

  8. I brought up that Majora's Mask isn't a gift, but instead a product because in order to gain access to it, I have to pay for it. Therefore, quite simply, I fully have the right to be picky about it. Nintendo did not make the game as a gift for their consumers, they made it for money.

I don't have to be 'grateful' for anything a company does for profit. Especially when I know that they could have done so much better.

Indeed, I won't get it. But that doesn't mean I don't get to have an opinion and state it... You're the one who responded to my post and turned this into an "argument", BTW.

Except that on this occasion in particular it's more than just Nintendo simply rehashing a game because they felt like it, this game has been in huge demand by the fans for several years now and THAT is why they've chosen to bring it to a new platform.

Nintendo are doing this because people showed that there was a great demand for this game to be remade after OoT was and Nintendo have responded by acknowledging the request and showing people that they do in fact pay a great deal of attention to the voices of their consumers. This Is perhaps the only time I would ever argue that you don't really have a right to be picky, especially if it's not something that you ever asked for, because virtually everyone else did and we're all happy that Nintendo have listened to us and given us what we want.

I think that's all that really needs to be said, I'm not saying you can't feel dissatisfied with what they are doing, but rather that you shouldn't bash the company for performing fan-service that's tailored specifically for the fans because of what WE asked for.

  9. I've been a huge supporter ever since the Operation Moonfall campaign ever since it began, and to see the fruits of our labour finally arrive at last...

I swear, I had no idea I was going to see this when I woke up this morning, now I just want to shout my excitement at the top of my lungs :yay:

  10. I was once horrifically infamous for a time on Facebook, but those were some dark days indeed.

That, and this site is about as close as I ever get to engaging in social interaction these days. Sites like Twitter and Tumblr have earned themselves some really bad stigma from certain groups and that's pretty much why I steer waaaaaaaaaayy clear of the two altogether :P

  11. Still, nice to see our UK government taking such a lackadaisical approach to mitigating the risk of the disease entering our country, It's so reassuring when despite all efforts people treating the infected patients are STILL getting infected in spite of following health and safety procedures to the letter.

  12. In real life, when I'm around my friends I mess around and say obscene things in public areas that would likely get me arrested.

Online, when I'm around my friends I mess around and say obscene things in public areas that would likely get me arrested.

No, I'm definitely a whole different person online :derp:

  13. I don't think those games will boost sales, star fox and Metroid are no where near being as popular as Mario and legend of Zelda.

But they would still sell, ergo, they would still boost sales.

And they do sell, if you check the history of previous games in either franchise (Starfox especially for whatever reason) you'll see that in the past those games have sold well irrespective of what console/platform they were on.
