    alright. here we go. first off, yes. I'm using RPG Maker VX Ace. 1.) No I'm not a member of any RPGMaker forums simply because I have no need to be on one. 2.) I used Dshou's Celestia, Luna and Guards, but True Nightmare, Rift and Rune's sprites were made using his template. 3.) There is currently no ETA for the game or even the demo, though there IS an interview from The Brony Show I had last week.

    An Unexpected Threat... One thousand years have passed since the return and defeat of Nightmare Moon, Discord, and the Changeling Queen Chrysalis. Peace has reigned for hundreds of years under the watchful eyes of the Royal Pony Sisters and the newly annointed Princess Twilight Sparkle, who was gifted the form of an alicorn after her friends passed away from old age. However, unbeknownst to the three rulers, an evil from the time of Nightmare Moon has appeared and threatens Equestria's very way of life. Celestia has been defeated and Luna has just barely escaped. Is there anypony in Equestria that can stop this ancient evil? Rune Sigilsign is a normal unicorn stallion that enjoys hanging out with his friends. He also happened to be studying under Twilight Sparkle at the library, one of her many students. One day he takes a break from things and rests beside a lake when Luna teleports next to him, bruised and beaten. She explains that a monster calling himself True Nightmare has defeated them and taken the throne for himself and that he's so powerful that their only chance is the Elements of Harmony. She believes that Rune and his friends are the spirits of the elements and convinces him to search out his friends and the resting places of the ancient artifacts.     I have a theory for the manes my guess is that the Princess' powers fluctuate with the day and night cycle. Celestia is strongest during the day, and at night is when Luna's power is at its highest. I believe Luna's mane reflects that. During the day when she is weaker her mane is the normal look from Season 1. At night, her mane looks like it does in Season 2. There's even a bit of 'proof' to my theory In season 2, did we see Luna in the daytime at all? no. In season 1, is it not true that we ONLY saw Luna AFTER the sun was rising? yes.

    I suppose my main issue was that the way Chrysalis's defeat was scripted, she sounded like a complete idiot. When your power revolves around someone's love, someone says their love will povide the strength needed to defeat you, and you know for a fact that their love alone made you strong enough to defeat the ruler of a kingdom, you don't make light fun of that power. You step up and make sure they can't use that power against you.

    Yeah when I saw Celestia get defeated I was like "... Well that just happened. Oh LUUUUUUNAAAAAAA~." and then of course I was met with disappointment in Luna apparently being asleep through it all (that's my theory. she's the Night Princess so she'd sleep through the day and stay up all night).

    um... they can still run out of time with planning. say a scene they did took much longer than expected? Also I'm not saying there should be more fighting and explosions. I'm saying the conflict should have been more flowing. For season 2's open and close, everything flows perfectly until around the last 15 minutes, and just as all hell breaks loose, you blink and the bad guy is defeated. Think of it like an RPG. You play the game and it's going great. You go through the final dungeon and get to the boss of the game. And then you one-shot him. It feels like a cheap win because you went in expecting a challenge, and your character waltzes right in, uses Fireball, crits and the whole conflict is done. I'm not saying the conflict should have resulted to a hoof to hoof fight. I'm saying that Discord and Chrysalis were too easy. ESPECIALLY Chrysalis, who's power resides in feeding off love, and she scoffs at the idea of Cadance's love giving Shining Armor power. That just doesn't make sense. She calls it a ridiculous sentiment, when the same sentiment allowed her to defeat Princess Celestia herself! Also, I have no proof of this, but I think the Brony Fandom is at least as big as the original target demographic. Otherwise why would Hasbro and Studio B (I can't remember what they're called now) even bother putting in SO MANY references? EDIT: oh almost forgot. I don't think you're right when you say "The little girls AND their parents aren't interested in epic battles" you are probably incorrect. I know a few little girls (little sisters of friends) who like shows with explosions and epic battles, and that's what most parents watch anyway. Maybe not in ponies, but still. Plus while you may be right about losing the core demographic if the writers go too far to please bronies, I don't think the show would be cancelled on the sole fact that the bronies would still be watching, and we've already proven ourselves to be a MASSIVE source of revenue.

    ... that has absolutely no relevance to what I said. what I said had absolutely nothing to do with it being a blockbuster movie. I merely said that their defeats had to be due to them running out of time to do everything they'd wanted to.

    you're completely missing the point here. Chrysalis and Discord were OBVIOUSLY supposed to be harder to defeat than they were but the studio ran out of time and had to rush things to fit everything important into the episode. Their rushed defeat has nothing to do with the demographic. Speaking of demographic, the little girls are NOT the "actual real demographic". The demographic Lauren Faust gave the show was 'little girls and their parents'.

    my question to you is this: how many times should they NOT use them before it's considered ok to use them again? That's the thing that bugs me when people say that because by what they say it's like they EXPECT the mane 6 to never use the Elements of Harmony again. I understand the next upcoming villain (whoever it might be) but what about the one after that? just wondering.

    my opinion? Chrysalis' defeat was only because of the time limit. no other reason. She should have KNOWN the power of love. Proof? Chrysalis: "Shining Armor's love for you is even stronger than I thought. Consuming it has made me even more powerful than CELESTIA!" I think if they were able to they DEFINITELY would have extended beyond ep 26. They couldn't so they must have thought "ok fine... we're already too close to the limit. let's just end it here and try to time it better next time."

    I believe they replied to a suggestion similar to yours a while back. They said that it is impossible to implement customization to even just colors because every color combination had to follow a palette, as well as the fact that there is only a max of 6-7 color palettes that the system they use will allow. I'm certain someone else with the system will eventually mod it so that they use OCs instead of the original show characters in the future though.

    actually there wasn't a color scheme for Littlepip in the story. Littlepip wasn't really described in detail other than size and such. The rest has been up to the reader's imagination. I heard this was done on purpose because Kkat wanted her appearance to be customizable, somewhat like the games. This is simply the absolute most popular design for her. Personally I prefer her with brown eyes.
