Blue Storm

Wow,for something I typed up while bored and tired of people raving about Fluttershy being cute,this sure has gotten a lot of attention. Also,it was only my opinion. I'm not saying their weak characters,I'm saying that I don't see them getting too much DIVERSE development. It's really only building on what's there,only ever now and then expanding off of it. I will say that it was fun to read on the minds of those who dig deep into the show and analyse carefully. I don't do that myself,(I mainly watch it because Rainbadurr. ^3^) but I do see very valid arguments and decent points,but it just doesn't really work for me. While,looking back,Rarity does have very... intricate development as a character,the others are lacking. Fluttershy has come a whole two steps: Be assertive,which she isn't,and don't be afraid,which she still is. I don't think you could ever find a way to make Fluttershy look like a decent character to me unless they started to really build OFF of her shyness,instead of piling on it.

So with Season... -I forgot,but... I have no end to that sentence- wrapped up all nicely and Season Again,out of the loop a bit- coming up,what,next year? Really!? Oh well... What was I saying? Oh yeah,the name of the topic. I've been thinking back to the Mane Six,and,to greater extent,their personalities. I mean,yeah,they've been working on developing them,but with six main characters,atleast one or two of them are gonna be a little weak. Their already a bit cliche already! You got the Nerdy one,the Shy one,the Cool one,the Quirky one,the Dependent one,and the Diva/Dramatic one. Pretty much covering all the different angles,which is good,but trying to juggle them all at the same time... that's not as good. If their's two characters that I think have weak personalities,it's Fluttershy and Applejack. Fluttershy because she's got nothing other then her shyness,and Applejack because... well,same thing but with her "Honesty". Every challenge for them to overcome is basically what their Aspect is,which is okay to a point,but when it's every character episode?! It gets watered down. Next in line has got to be,though I say this with a sink in my heart,Rainbow Dash. "She's cool,carefree,doesn't have a care in the world! But over the course of this show's run time,she'll have to learn valuable life lessons on when she has to take responsibility and step up." Sounds like an intro to a sitcom or something,doesn't it? Twilight and Rarity are all fine and good to a point,but if their's one character that's got the most character development behind her,it's Pinkie,oddly enough. She's learned that there's a time and place for partying,that she's not always gonna be the center of attention,she can't always be the one making people smile,et cetera et cetera... I really feel like they were trying their hardest,but by the -I think we're at the fifth season? Yeah...- fifth season,it's not really showing. I don't know,if you have a different look on it,go ahead and say below.

It just occurred to me that the whole reason why I made this post is because I didn't take my daily dose of happiness yesterday,but now I'm all rainbows and sunshine and pinkie pie! Yeah! Well,I never meant for this post to become a hot spot for philosophy,but.... meh. Never hurt anyone.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder,and what I see in this world is a bleak,shallow experience of sorrow,heartbreak,and death. My comfort zone consists of knowing the truth,and taking pity in those who think life has something to offer besides death. I pity you.

When I see the show,gazing up wild-eyed from my pitiful,short existence in this cruel,uncaring world full of hate,misery,and death,I see more then a bunch of bright cartoon figures dancing about being happy. I see real,thinking,feeling people going through life,tackling their problems seriously,with help from their closest friends. Developed,lifelike characters that feel real. That I wish were real! That we could all only dream were real. We wish we could be there,among our friends. Living life as joyfully and wondrous as they do,but dealing with real problems we all go through,but only to helped and comforted by those that we welcome,not only as our friends,but as family. When I see the show,I feel joy. Jealousy. Hate. Sorrow. Alone. Cold. The very reality that our world cannot be like Equestria,with it's denizens living happily among us,is enough to drive a man into his very soul,to judge himself,and others,with the same inspection that we give to the Mane Six,the background ponies,and all others from this gleaming light of love and tolerance shining through our bleak,abysmal existence,and know that,as much as we love the show,it's characters,and it's message,our world cannot be the same. They are the light,we are the darkness. We live in the shadow of their world of joy,love,comfort. A world of sorrow,hate,and death. To add my answer to this question,I feel depression.

I refuse to ignore Season Three. It was the epitome of my dislike of Spike. Lazy,whiny,and an all around nuisance. I can't understand how all you people like him! Am I on the wrong side of this forum or something!? I,personally,wanted to see him replaced by that owl.

As I look back on the last few years and see just how large this show has gotten,and the fanbase that follows it,I wonder: "What is it about the show that people like?". The easier question is "What do I like about it?" I enjoy it for the fun,likable characters. Rainbow Dash for her "Slack off,but jump to it for a friend" personality,which I can relate to. Twilight for her fun,knowledgeable,and slightly naive character. Pinkie Pie,though I find she can be annoying,is fun due to her willingness and devotion to cheer people up and make everyone ( or everypony) happy. Rarity,though the whole "diva" thing wasn't a good start,can be very nice and giving,and I honestly feel she learns a lesson in her episodes. Fluttershy for,well,it's Fluttersy! How can you not love her?! She's just so cute! /)^3^(\ ....sorry,got off topic. And Applejack,who I wish I could like,but with only "apples" to go on for her character,it's really hard to be invested in her episodes. All in all,it's a cast of fun,likable,and three dimensional characters,and Hasbro actually makes me feel for them. I've watched almost every episode. I've been buying toys. Hell,I put up with Equestria Girls! What is it about the show that you like? Also.... butter.

Greetings random forum crawlers (is that an insult?),it's me again. I'd first like to say that because of this forum and your willingness to help another brony,I have more faith in this fandom. I sorta lost touch with "brony-ism" for a while,but now,I'm sorta getting back into the swing of things. Anyway,back to the point. Thanks to my good friend,one Inclement Blitz,I have a custom drawing of my OC (look down). Next on my agenda to complete him,a name. I have no freaking clue at what it should be. Am I doing this backwards? Should the next thing be a cutie mark? Hold on,let me check.... Well donkeys,I forgot what order it comes in. Oh well,doesn't matter. So,creative minds of the brony fandom,what do you think is an adequate name for our pony friend down there? I should probably be atleast trying to think of one on my own,but I think I should come up with a cutie mark first,and.... you know what,maybe a cutie mark would be the best place to start.... Oh my.... I feel as though all the ham inside is about to burst into a crappy speech,so I'll put this as normal and non-hammy as possible. I liek it. ^3^ It looks great! If you can,I can't wait to see it finished. I don't know if you put more then five minutes on this,did it in your sleep,or actually tried to make it look good,but this sketch alone makes me all giddy for what it'll look like finished. Wait,did I just say "giddy"?

Trust me,I'm much more expressive behind a computer. That way I can shrug off any hate and even give defensive hate back,but in real life,I'd rather sit by myself then try to sit with others just to be rejected. Easier to have no friends then to have no friends and be humiliated. Anyway,I looked at your "work" and I must say I'm impressed. Your artwork is very nice and neat,colorful and very professional. As for charging,I understand completely,but I figured that if I wanted to pay for a picture of my oc that I'd sooner hang on my wall as a masterpiece then keep as a file on my computer used only to bring up and reference,I'd go to someplace like.... actually,I don't know where I'd go. Anyway,if you were my only option,I'd hire you without a second thought,but I'm now officially over six hundred characters,so I should bring this to a close before it looks like the chapter of a novel. If you want to,I'd more then appreciate it. As for personality,I just imagine a pony me. Would rather sit around with old friends then try to make new ones.
