  An interesting question. Now i'm not going to say, 'he's a strong as his mind allows him to be' Though in some ways that is true, its not the extent of it. Superman's power varies. if he is weakened by say, Kryptonite, once said stone is sent away his power doesn't truly return to him. He gets a portion of it back.
