  1. Searched for a similar thread, but that would have involved necros, so here's a shiny one. -- Any generation, any character, and plotline...or plot hole; does mlp give you motivations? I like to take a closer look at mlp to find inspirations for my non-mlp stories. I've always loved the use of cartoons to spark ideas despite the style of my writing and who it's more intended for. I've also learned that detail really isn't everything and from that, I've been more free with my artwork. However, I have to say that I am a little bit, just a tiny bit, disappointed by how much I glaze over the morals and lessons of the show and what I could learn from it to improve my own personal issues. I wonder if anyone feels the same way I just mentioned.
  2. Considering a seapony is my avatar..my mlp oc- I quite miss them.
  3. Everything is cliché nowadays. Heck, my plot for stories are not original because I am only one person out of 7 billion, and I'm sure ideas are always borrowed. It's not about overused ideas-it's about how you can twist and manipulate them. That's what I tell myself anyway. I'm a fan of dark twist-and this would be in my interest; but since twi was just crowned princess- not likely. I'm willing to bet there will be a scene where she's manipulated by an evil force, but not for long. The idea of her or anyone becoming subtly indifferent is my cup of tea; but not others of course.
  4. It was my first initial thought watching that episode, over a barrel. Some ponies you can pick out what stands out to you. Not every pick will be the same; but apparently, it clicks with many people. It doesn't bother me.
  5. Honestly, I would carry on. I could always watch re-runs, the fandom won't die off quickly; and I have other things to attend to. Even if mlp went on for many more seasons, it may get stale. Hopefully not though.
  6. I felt uncertain about it at first; but I enjoy horses in real life and honestly, I already had a feeling I'd like mlp gen4 regardless of the hate. I tried to make myself watch cartoons in order to alleviate some dark times in my life, which I found that I'm a kid at heart; but to also gain some inspiration to my own stories and non mlp characters, despite the contrast of subject material. To say the least; I ended up really liking mlp.
  7. Same here. In fact, pinkie for me has taken a step to 3rd fav pony- that is, a step down, due to her having a downfall in character development this season but being goofy. Rainbow has really improved, even if she still has a bit of cockiness In her. Just watched and it does take a little long to build; but at least RD's element wasn't in your face like Rarity's episode. I really liked fluttershy in this for some reason.
