  1. Saved my draft for my review for the first half of season 4. If anyone wants to aid me in editing it I'm more than welcome to accept.

  2. Just posted my review for Simple Ways episode. I feel like also doing a review for the first half of Season 4 that I may do later.

  3. After seeing 'Simple Ways', my first impression was an awkward episode that feels rather out of place for the sake of some silly romance. Though the lesson was very good, which I feel is the episode's strongest mark.

  4. How can her kick stop a supersonic pegasus that is capable of nuking a barn to oblivion? If she tried that, Rainbow Dash's speed and the amount of force she's projecting from how fast she's going would easily overpower it.
  5. Rainbow Dash would win considering she has the ability of flight thus she can pick and choose when to go in for the attack while Applejack has to play in a more defensive manner, can create mini tornadoes, can fly at supersonic speeds at least which is faster than Applejack can run thus placing Applejack in an even greater defensive posture and the amount of force Rainbow Dash can hit Applejack will be immense and easily ecclipsing Appljack's stronger natural strength, can cause nuclear explosions from hitting the ground, Rainbow Dash can also manipulate clouds to use the weather to her advantage as well thus hampering Applejack even more, and Rainbow Dash has a black belt in karate compared to the likely self taught Applejack so Rainbow Dash would likely know more about fighting than Applejack. As for the lasso, Rainbow Dash has shown she can dodge lightning strikes from attacking thunderheads so she's at least a lightning timer if not a lightning dodger so a thrown lasso from an athletic and strong pony isn't going to be enough to overcome Rainbow Dash's insane reaction speed.
  6. My top 5 most hated episodes right now are. 5. Showstoppers: Not only was this a boring episode, but this episode pretty much ruined whatever intrigue we could've had with the CMC's cutie marks by showing what their talent is going to be in the first season. Thanks to that episode we're now waiting when they're finally going to give the CMCs their cutie marks 3 seasons later and counting. 4. Mysterious Mare Do Well: While yes Rainbow Dash being exaggerated into an extreme egotist was annoying, but how the the other mane 6 tried to fix that by humiliating her and having the town turn against Rainbow Dash despite all the good deeds she had done enraged me of how hypocritical the mane 6 were and just how cynical the episode was. 3. Dragon Quest: This episode ruined the FIM dragons by making everyone that isn't pony raised like Spike is into complete assholes, but it also ruined whatever character development and background story we could've had with Spike. This episode was essentially the acclaimed Cutie Mark Chronicles gone wrong. 2. Rainbow Falls: One of the laziest written episodes on the show, a slew of flanderized characters for the sake of a poorly written plot and humor, and completely throwing out the character development Rainbow Dash had going because if we had say the Rainbow Dash from 'Wonderbolt's Academy' instead the episode would've been finished at the halfway mark. Unlike the other episodes, this one is tied up to a season long arc so you can't discount this episode as non-canon. Read the DQ's excellent roasting to know how bad this episode was. 1. Putting your hoof down: This episode ruined much of my opinion of Fluttershy as she became an even bigger villain than the supposed corrupted version from 'Return of Harmony' when she tried to be assertive and of how she uttered one of the most vicious insults in the show when she attacked both Pinkie Pie and Rarity, how Iron Will was portrayed as the villain when he did nothing to cause Fluttershy to behave as she did, and of how Fluttershy relatively gets away with it scot free despite insulting and attacking a good portion of the town populace. Ever since then, with the exception of one of the all time great episodes in 'Hurricane Fluttershy', her character hasn't been fixed from such a scathing demonization and the fact the writing staff seem content to introduce gags like Flutterhulk and Flutterbat seems that they really don't know what to do with her so far. I could be proven wrong in later episodes, but so far Fluttershy remains my least favorite of the mane 6 ever since that character appeared in my least favorite episode of the series.
  7. I'm especially excited for DKC Trop Freeze considering Retro is making it, got the original composer for the DKC series on their staff and hearing this from the game supposedly :http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=TT_qkMKPgTQ just only made my decision that much easier to get it.
  8. Posted my review of Pinkie Pride on EQD

  9. I think the reason was because Mrs. Ashleigh Ball said that doing Rainbow Dash's voice is pretty difficult for her and trying to sing in that voice will only exhuberate such difficulty for her. So it's a matter of if she can get enough practice in to sing in that voice without her voice breaking up from it.
  10. Posted my review for Pinkie's Pride as my first blog entry on this forum. I'll post my review on EQD as well when the discussion post airs in the next hour.

  13. Watched Pinkie's Pride again, it's still my new fav for season 4 and probably my favorite Pinkie Pie episode too.

  14. Gave into temptation and watched 'Pinkie's Pride' episode and my first impressions are that it's probably not only season 4's best, but one of the best episodes of the series as well.

  15. While I'm not saying MMD was without flaws, I do think it's over hated by the fandom as introducing the first hero persona in Mare-Do-Well and whatever actions she took was fun, and the batman animated series and Darkwing Duck references were fun for me. Also, despite all the hate for being 'worst episode of series', it wasn't even the worst episode of season 2 as I believe 'Putting your Hoof Down' and what Fluttershy did to the citizens of ponyville and saying one of the most vicious insults ever uttered on the show towards Pinkie Pie and Rarity were way worse than egotistical and glory hogging Rainbow Dash of MMD.
  16. That's what I meant, I dislike reading or hearing negative opinions or positive opinions for the sake of having it. I always feel that whatever point a person is trying to make, he/she must back it up through a sound and well thought out premise to explain why this is good or bad. I generally don't critique an episode for simply having zany fun with an idea or character, but only if it does it well as I'll still critique it if I feel it was below par execution. After all a person can only get better if he/she knows something is wrong with his performance, usually from self critique or from an observer. Your statement on opinion is true as well.
  17. While I myself a reviewer, I dislike overly negative reviews where they start nitpicking stuff without any good reason to back up said complaint that enforces why it negatively impacts an episode. However, I also dislike it when people complain about somebody scrutinizing an episode, regardless if he pointed those flaws out very well, simply because they don't want to hear unfavorable opinions over an episode they like. I mean just because you may not want to hear a negative opinion doesn't mean you should attack the person without pointing out why you believe his reasoning is wrong in a logical manner and not using asinine excuses as the basis for your case.
  18. Right now, it's Rainbow Falls for one of the laziest displays of writing I've seen on the show, a whole slew of flanderized characters for the sake of the plot or poor humor, and loads of contrived plot points that make me cringe for how poorly executed they were.
  19. Posted my review for 'Three's a crowd' on EQD's episode discussion comment section.

  20. First expressions of latest episode, a slow buildup but hilarious and trollish episode. Definitely a very good episode.

  21. Mr. Enter's review for 'Rainbow Falls is up and holy crap was he vicious with this episode.

Yep, that is what I meant, was confused there for a second.

  22. Pretty indifferent to him myself. Do I think he's terrible, not really, but I don't like him either. His whole problem is of how wholly under developed he was and of how his sole purpose in the plot was to be Twilight's romance interest, which served very little purpose other than filling a high school trope. However, I do not wish to see him back for the simple fact that every attempts the show staff have done with romance has been mediocre at best, and the show has done fine without needing to place romance on a pedestal. I do not mind romance too much, but only if it can be done well and does not change or warp characters for the sake of a romance.
  23. Like everyone else here, I'm a huge Metroid fan myself and have loved most of the metroid games in the series. The most troubling issue with Other M laid in it's poorly written story that retconned the acclaimed Prime trilogy and warping the entire Metroid timeline to fit it's egotistical creator's vision, a bit with the control scheme, and how linear it was compared to most metroid games. It's a fun game, just don't take a thought for it's story or especially try to fit it in the Metroid lore or you'll be enraged by the amount of character and continuity issues it caused like I' am
  24. A funny comment I've found on youtube in Voice of Reason's review for Rainbow Falls, which damn can the fandom be sensitive to critiques. While Merriwether Williams has been blasted for starting off so bad in season 2, ever since then her solo episodes have been improving immensely. It is in stark contrast to Corey Powell, the season 3 darling, who has only gotten worse with her episodes ever since starting off so well with 'Sleepless in Ponyville' and has now wrote the season...

  25. Well just posted my review for the first issue of *Friends Forever* on EQD. Happy they removed that stupid down vote button.
