It makes plenty of sense. Unbridled optimism often leaves a person vulnerable and susceptible to harm because they are often, as the saying goes, "blissfully unaware" of impending troubles. I'm not suggesting a dogma of negativity as much as one of realism. That aside, onto more pressing matters.
