      I've never heard of such a thing. I needed to tell my friends because activity seems to have gone up on this site and I need people to know if I end up staying off of this site for extended periods of time.

      The reason I said it's a good idea to avoid telling people when you're going on vacation is this: if someone can somehow trace who you are from your account (not super likely, but if it happened), then they'll know you're not at your house, therefore, your house can be burglarized.

       

      I can't remember where I heard that, though...
