He gave an example that does not refute that point, but rather argues his example, so while his example may function his overall argument has yet to refute the original statement.

You use "academia" like its a bad thing. Is social thought just hooplah to you? There are very few ideas in the realm of academia that can be necessarily PROVED, but the ideas can be supported by information. I don't think you understand how academic theories work. You can't prove them with hard data like a theory on cells. But that doesn't make them any less valid.

What is a personal variable, according to you? And how does the idea of Privilege not conform to it?
