I think maybe each era has a the same themes the show has always carried just with different blends of writing. And depending on which blend you prefer, it's entirely subjective. That's at least my other theory.

@C.B True. Her name alone was what caused many folks to watch the show and to stop once they found she no longer was on it.

@CP Many have legit complaints about the show and are typically older fans so they generally feel more knowledgeable of what is good or bad. Also, the newer fans have the youth and carefree attitude that many older fans, including myself, had with the show when we first watched it several years ago.
