  1. I developed an OC for the first time. One that's not just me turned into a pony, a standalone character. That was never my sphere of the fandom, but something changed recently. Derpibooru was having a big week long event for April Fool's where people would battle for the Solar Empire or the New Lunar Republic. Teams would gain points based on site activity like uploading images and commenting. I decided to join for Celestia, and I roleplayed as an advisor and information relayer to Celestia. But something happened. I was bitten by the bug. The pony-making bug. I wanted to turn this advisor and operative persona into an actual visible character. And I did. And I've developed a guy I used for the rest of the event, and have come to love. Using bases and editing skills, I fleshed this guy out to how I wanted to see him. I have named him Lightpoint. And I love the guy. Type: Pegasus Gender: Stallion Nearly white fur, gold-like mane, wears a blue coat with prominent collar, and red tinted glasses.
  2. Where do you find the list of which characters are in which team again? I know there was a big discussion about who would get in, and I wasn't involved with that. Or is it really just places this time?
  3. Well, it's quite a while since I posted here. After the longest time of general stagnation and feeling stuck, it's only in recent weeks that things have really started rolling again, and there is much progress to show. First and foremost, while hanging out at the Discord of a Mario fangaming site I've visited for years, I was showing bits of this game off, when I happened to find someone there named Lyraa who wanted to help with spriting! That was one of the major obstacles I had to overcome, and since then, he and I have worked on various bits and pieces, and now a demo of this game seems closer and closer to coming to reality! Have a look at the Mane 6's battle sprites! This was one of the big ones. The six main classes in Final Fantasy only share two palettes of three colors apiece, which meant that fitting a colorful cast into this space was no small feat! But having picked the colors to work with (and Pinkie having orange hair in the process), some amazing sprites were made! These were then further refined a bit until we came up with this! Not every single pose is changed yet. But I'm working on it! Along with this, I've done some more sprite tracing of enemies! Here are the Nightmare, Dragon, Maulwurf, Windigo, and Living Armor. These were all based on real screenshots from various place, but I made the sprites by resizing them and tracing them! And I'm honestly pretty pleased with the results! I don't have a time table on when I can release a demo yet, but everything is getting closer and closer to being ready!
  4. For the official ones, I got the 4de Twilight (Alicorn), Rainbow Dash, Applejack, Trixie, and Pinkie. Those 4de ones were easily the best and most accurate to the show. Since then, I've slowly started getting customs. I found an artist named Little-Broy-Peep beacuse I saw she was doing someone's commission of Stygian, who might be my favorite pony of all, and I knew I had to get on the next train for that! And I did! And I love the result! ...but every year later, I've just kept coming back for other favorites and guys I like. I've since gotten Sandbar, Hitch, Shadow Lock (from the comics) Thunder (the green g5 royal guard), and my ponyself, too! (A yellow pegasus stallion with brown mane and tail) I even took a photo of them! It's pricey, sure, but it's easy to maneuver around, and since it happens so infrequently, I don't feel like I'm wasting much.
  5. What is definitely lacking is a presence between the fans and show runners. Lots of that going on in G4, but seemingly nothing here aside from like one or two interviews with a director of the ANG movie. Would love to see something like this build more!
  6. I just looked inward to myself to figure out what pony I felt like I am. I picked a yellow pegasus stallion with brown mane and tail. The brown reflects my real hair color, though as a pony my mane and tail are a shade lighter than my actual hair. The yellow was taken part from how much I felt inside about Spitfire. Plus it just felt pretty me, too.
  7. At this point someone needs to take video from this episode and edit in audio from Terrance and Phillip from South Park. We're getting pretty close to that point after this.
  8. That was pretty good and cute! Nice to see Misty more integrated into the group. Though I always get a smile from seeing Thunder again. Incoming fruit!
  9. Guess who now occupies my room? He's amazing! It feels so amazing to have him!
  10. I've commissioned a plush of Stygian from the artist Little-Broy-Peep in 2019, but I've since commissioned more. Actually, I've never taken a photo of everypony that I have...
  11. I thought it was pretty cute. Adds another layer onto Izzy, too. Though for me, my favorite bit was seeing Zoom and Thunder obtaining Hitch's wall. Could Queen Haven do that? How does that work? Well regardless this is being played for comedy, and isn't worth thinking too much about the ramifications, so I would just say this-
  12. So these two made it into the new TYT episode, Sneaksy Strikes Again, taking the graffiti art from Hitch's wall by order of Queen Haven.
  13. Stygian to have returned and had a line or two, for sure. Or heck, more of the Pillars in general. Would have wanted to see Stygian especially during the Pillars vs Tirek scene, but the more I wondered why they didn't bring their friend and tactics guy, the more I realized that the poor guy very well would have been in serious danger, moreso than the Pillars themselves. At least he showed up at the finale!
  14. I know this isn't a very active thread, but I though I'd share this great art I had comissioned! By Supermoix
  15. Well today is the day this releases. Where will it be? Youtube would be easiest for me, I don't have Spotify and the like.
  16. Pretty good one! All the Misty abuse at the end was pretty sad, though. Hitch going off the deep end was funny too. He even got Zoom and Thunder involved somehow!
  17. They made all the non-mane ponies shallow and superficial in this! Like the whole thing with Sugar Moonlight. Sunny even said, "We went to school together!" And acted like someone totally new. Even Windy was made to be this way! I like Windy! All the instantly not being interested in what Sunny had to say when she was taking certain forms is just so ultra superficial. It's this weird background pony herd mentality thing.
  18. I told myself I wasn't going to do the whole binge thing. I didn't want to, I liked the Friendship is Magic style once a week thing, maybe I would do one every day. But I did see them all in one day. Though I really did stretch it out, I didn't see everything in one sitting. And I liked it! Lots of good humor, intrigue, really getting to know this Misty, who seems to be a real mystery. Not a lot of questions were answered though, but that isn't a big problem. I like the format of the "meanwhile at the evil lair in the background" thing, all the plotting revolving around each of the episodes. I'm just wanting to know more!
  19. I had a few ideas appear in my head that I would love to see happen in the show. Hey, since the show is only a 5 minute long thing, you could have a lot more ideas that wouldn't necessarily work stretch out to a whole half hour. My ideas are: 1. Have a pony who isn't into social media at all, and is only sort of vaguely aware who Pipp is, it would mirror me with actual social media people I've never heard of that everyone else would seem to know about. Maybe this pony would be chastised, or be declared the weird one who isn't in the "in" for whatever weird popular online thing is going on, and I would love to see Pipp's reaction to the whole thing with a certain level of genuineness. 2. I love that certain background characters are getting their own episodes. Dahlia, Rufus, Jazz... but I would just adore it if they did one for Thunder and Zoom. <3
  20. I dunno if this will upload correctly, but I finished my outline, here is what I have. I'm trying to join the lines together and make a whole filled in shape which I can then remove from the base parallelogram, but I'm having no luck with joining the lines together, even with the supposed "join nodes" function. I'm lost here, could somebody look at what I have and show me what am I doing wrong? zhps.svg
  21. Oh hey thanks, everyone for doing the examples you gave. However, I'm looking for more how to do certain things in Inkscape. I'm trying to "carve" out the white pony shape in the parallelogram by erasing in it. I could just use the eraser tool, but I wanted more control with the lines, and to make a region in it that could then be erased. I THINK I might be close to figuring out how to do it, but not quite yet. EDIT: Ok maybe I'm not as far along as I thought. I have half the outline traced, but the lines aren't connecting to form a single entity. I'm too used to Fireworks where you could just drag lines together to make them join. How do you join these?
  22. Months ago I expressed interest in making the logo for the Zephyr Heights Postal Service, seen here in the top corner, because I would love to have that on a shirt. However, no clear image of it exists anywhere, let alone for sale on some shirt. So I resolved to make my own, and I downloaded Inkscape for this purpose. For years on my other computer, I've used the older programs Macromedia Flash and Macromedia Fireworks to make vectory stuff, and that's what I would use this time except the state of my other computer is a bit indeterminable right now, and will stay that way until I have it looked at. I figure many of the skills and techniques are going to be similar, but I would nonetheless like some help with a few things and where to find them. What I'm doing is making a basic parallelogram (seen here in a green instead of blue, to make it easier to see until I'm done) and shape out the portions that make up the white area. In Fireworks and Flash, I could easily do that, but I'm not 100% sure how to here. Even using the line tool, it only seems to add another shape onto the picture, and doesn't treat it as something that can be deleted. What do I need to do here? Or does anyone have any better ideas?
  23. Was thinking about my favorite pegasus dudes, felt like posting. Soarin, Flash Sentry, Flash Magnus, Rocky, Thunder, and the ever-underrated Feather Flatterfly!!
