@@Mand'alor Dash, I could address each of your points, but I would not want to push this thread off topic. I would be more than happy to provide information and resources to you or anyone else via PM if anyone here would like to learn more about the subject, which would assist all of you in discussing this topic I'm sure. You have made quite clear here that you do not know anything about this topic, which I hope you don't mistake for an insult. I have spent quite a lot of time learning about the LGBT+ community, so I have an especially firm understanding of the subject, and I wouldn't expect those who haven't taken that time to know anything about it in the same way that I wouldn't expect someone who's never taken a biology class to know the stages of mitosis. I reiterate, if anyone would like to learn more on this topic my PM box is wide open. I am not the perfect person to ask by any means, being cisgender myself I can only learn so much, but I love sharing my knowledge and spreading kindness and understanding, and if it means that we can improve the way we discuss topics related to transgender issues on this forum, then I think that would be just wonderful

Statistics regarding the LGBT+ community are by their very nature skewed, I mean it's only natural given how society insists that people have to all be monocishet. Even if that number is accurate though, the fact remains that presuming a trans person to be cis will still be inaccurate regardless of any statistic, and given that each person will inevitably talk to several such people in their lifetime at least, that's still several people hurt and invalidated for each person who chooses to be so presumptuous who could easily have been built up instead of being torn down. Why make assumptions when you can just be nice to people, you feel? Also, the term you're looking for is transgender, not transsexual. And to tie it back to MLP, we've seen loads of characters over the past 5 seasons. At this point, even given a low estimate for percentage of trans people the odds that we haven't run across a trans character yet are actually quite slim.

On a side note, I find it interesting how quick people seem to be to write this off. I can't help but ask why, I mean whether this is true or not changes literally nothing. No character is confirmed as cisgender or transgender whatsoever, the only reason this even matters in the first place is because most people see being cis as something that should be assumed until proven otherwise, which does nothing but erase people who aren't cis

I don't see how this would be "trolling" so I doubt that's what she's doing here. After all, her saying a character is trans isn't funny or weird, hell, any character or any number of characters could be trans for all we know based on what we've seen. It's not like any character has ever said "I'm cis", that's just what people assume if they don't say something else. Besides that, if they were trans it wouldn't change them at all, unlike if she tweeted that like Pinkie secretly hates parties or something. I think Faust would get in some trouble if she "outed" a specific character because "oh noes a non monocishet on a kids show protect the children ahhh!", so we may never get confirmation, but if she says that she envisioned a specific character as being trans then I believe it. It may very well be Caramel, that would make sense if it's one who specifically transitioned during the series, but in reality it could be anyone. Looking at Caramel though, if that's the case it may very well indicate that some sort of hormone therapy exists in Equestria, there may even be a spell or potion for it, which is just a super-neat world building concept

The problem isn't the fact that romance exists in media, it's that 9 times out of 10 it's portrayed in unrealistic and downright nonsensical ways. From love at first sight to being saved by your lover to everyone in the universe being straight and monogamous, media has been pushing some pretty silly notions of what romance is (I could expand upon any of those if I've caused any confusion). If I were to go ahead and take a stab at why you think it's "feminists" ruining everything here, I'd guess that either you think that when feminists complain about a given relationship you take that complaint to its extreme and think that we just don't want anyone to date in media ever, or you've come across some young, not yet socially educated feminists who've yet to learn how the issue of romance in media can be fixed aside from the simple answer of getting rid of it. After all, unlearning the sexism and stereotyping shoved down our throats since childhood is a difficult task, so you can't expect people embarking on that process to immediately know everything perfectly. That, or you're just trying to use the word feminist as some sort of insult, which confuses me greatly. Why ever would wanting equality be a negative trait? There may be ways to go about it wrong, but there are ways to go about everything wrong, are there not? As for my thoughts on this show involving romance somehow, if they were to explore that with the main characters then I'm not really sure how they'd go about it. This is already a show with six ponies and a baby dragon in the main spotlight, and any partner that any of them have would need a considerable amount of screen time for the romance not to seem forced or half-baked (this is actually a large part of why so many people don't like Flash Sentry, he got very little screen time). Basically, the spotlight is crowded and I don't think it has room for anyone else, but if the writers could pull it off I'd be open to being proven wrong.

I think you got that from the explanation for her accent. Rarity speaks with a Transatlantic accent, which is a sort of British/American fusion. As for my headcannons, I guess I mostly go off of what I see in fanart. If I see a cute human pony of a certain nationality, I tend to fold that into my overall headcannon of what that pony might look like in human form. If I had to give a general summary of my headcannons... Twilight - African, Indian Rarity - European, Indian Fluttershy - Scandinavian Pinkie Pie - Hispanic, Asian Rainbow Dash - Hispanic Applejack - European Of course that's just vague ethnic background. I guess I'm not super interested in pinning them to a region just because to an extent, I'd rather not take them out of their own world. They have a really cool and beautiful world, and I think they're better off in it than in ours
