  1. I have come to the conclusion that admins and moderators of most fannish sites, be it of MLP or anything else, get chosen mostly through cronyism and activity on the forum rather than any real interpersonal communication skills. This is the downfall of many sites. If the site was also created by an immature person who just likes to be seen as the one in charge, that's even worse.
  2. My favourite faithful adaptation of the story is the 1951 film staring Alastair Sim. Sim was primarily a comedic actor before this film but he performed Scrooge impeccably and let his comedic side shine when Scrooge awoke on Christmas morning. Another interesting take on the story was a British made-for-tv movie set in the modern day, featuring Edward Scrooge as a ruthless loan shark. As far as more unorthodox versions go, one of my faves was from the cartoon Real Ghostbusters. The Ghostbusters accidentally get sent back to Victorian England where they capture the Ghosts of Christmas Past, Present, and Yet to Come before they had the chance to influence Scrooge. After they return to the present and place the Spirits in the ghost containment unit, they realize that they altered history, and now Scrooge's miserly philosophy on Christmas has widespread acceptance. So, half the Ghostbusters go back in time to try and trick Scrooge into believing the Spirits are visiting him while the other half enter the containment unit to retrieve the Ghosts of Christmas. And, for a reversal of the idea, as well as just plain silliness, there's Blackadder's Christmas Carol where Ebenezer Blackadder is shown his descendants will rule the universe if he becomes less philanthropic and more cruel instead.
  3. People are jerks. Take a longer term view. Check things again in two weeks for a more accurate idea of how well it was received. EDIT: Or, check it now, since I just noticed this thread is from July.
  4. Chrysalis ate him afterwards, so, we'll never know.
  5. I've seen the way winters come on in Ponyville. No way would I be wandering around naked in that! But maybe during summer.
  6. I'm not usually big on the inter-mane 6 ships, however, Twilight has also been very consistently supportive of Rainbow Dash in every endeavour Rainbow has ever embarked on. That, I figure, is something that would not go unnoticed by the Element of Loyalty.
  7. There'll be a bit of renewed interest when the movie comes out, but that'll be about it. The fans that remain are dedicated, but dwindling.
  8. The mane six were originally supposed to be updated G1 ponies, but Hasbro insisted on using names of main characters from G3 (except for Applejack). Google an image of a G1 pony named Sparkler and you'll see what I mean. Except for the change in art style, G4 Rarity looks like Sparkler right down to the cutie mark. I think the only reason more older ponies don't show up is because there are simply hundreds of them.
  9. It's not creepy, because if you think about it, he did it twice. That makes it his fetish.
  10. The general style of the show tends towards brighter colours, so I doubt you're going to see any ponies much darker than Octavia, Doctor Whooves or Twilight's father. They just like their ponies bright and cheery!
  11. Where The Apple Lies. Not only was the plot incredibly cliched, it threw a monkey wrench into the established timeline that just should not have gotten past editing. I was honestly more interested in hearing more about the things Big Macintosh was talking about than what was happening to Applejack.
  12. Still have my first teddy bear. Got him for my first Christmas, at about three months old.
  13. I've left several times for one simple reason: People are jerks, and sadly, the fans of a show about friendship are no less inclined to be. I keep watching the show, though. I'm always going to enjoy that. I've just gone for long stretches trying to avoid bronies.
  14. Polygamy is rare enough in the real world, and polygamy ships are not really done in any fandom that I'm aware of. Having said that, considering the ratio of mares to stallions is about twenty to one, I'm kind of surprised there isn't more. Big Macintosh should be beating them off with a stick.
  15. Dash is a sprinter. She'd be lean and toned but in no way as built as the picture above. Applejack has strength. She'd be bulkier overall.
  16. Season six ended not too long ago, season seven is still months away, there's the holidays in between and nothing's been said from their marketing department yet. Wait for it.
  17. Large has traditionally been associated with clumsy, for some odd reason, so that was probably why. However, given the likes of Bulk Biceps, I'm prepared to suspend disbelief in Clyde's case. (Clyde... clydesdale... get it?)
  18. If he does, that would be sweet! Of course, they've also asked William Shatner to appear on the show, too. I'll believe it when I see it, but either or both would be awesome. My experience with IMDB is that they don't put anything up until the show in question is released, so it likely wouldn't be there whether it was true or not. EDIT: Digging a little deeper, the person who added that to Wikipedia had several other things removed for having nothing to back it up with. I'm betting it's not true, but again, I'll believe it when I see it.
  19. Bulk Biceps' bulk biceps did not happen through good genes alone.
  20. Celestia would have ethical issues in sending Tirek to terrorize innocent comic book denizens.
  21. Short answer: Yes. (Answer too short for minimum post length.)
  22. Remember Rainbow Dash sneaking up on ponies on a cloud during Nightmare Night and suddenly causing a lightning strike to scare them? Think that. Only, they don't miss with the lightning. They have other ways, too. Oh, look at that strategically positioned unicorn village down there. Wouldn't it be just awful if they suddenly got hit with ten feet of snow in the middle of July!
  23. Christianity is supposed to be a positive religion, with a central theme of Love thy neighbour. Now, go read up on the Crusades, and everything since.
