  1. That's not really a new direction though? The majority of the show since season one is honestly what I'd describe as "Slice of Life", with some adventuring stuff thrown in, usually most heavily in the two-parter's. I'm not sure why others would expect something else now.
  2. Sometimes it seems like a lot of people have the mentality that if something isn't "One of the best" then it must be "One of the worst". It's a strange mentality to me.

  3. Well, if it's not one of your favorites that's fine at all, but it's still a good episode. It's not really a "Step in a different" direction at all, just a different sort of season premiere than what we're used to, really only affects those first two episodes.
  4. Kinda weird how Season 7's premiere left such a bad taste for so many people, I think. It's a more relaxed Slice of life episode, rather than an epic adventurous two-parter, but most episodes of this show are single slice of life episodes. I thought the first 3 episodes of the season were all really good. That said, I think the season has mostly only gotten better since then, with a few of my new favorite episodes in the show, and only a few episodes I'd consider somewhat lackluster, but honestly still pretty decent overall.
  5. Just checked earlier today, The Season Six DVD is apparently due on November 7th.
  6. It's all not going to be okay.

Thanks, but that's so unlikely it might as well be impossible.

  7. Starlight and Trixie have already been seen in the trailer, though only really as part of the background. I'm hoping we'll at least get some scenes from Celestia and Luna at the start, but between the Mane Six/Spike and all the new characters for the Movie, I don't think they'd have much room to focus on every other important character from the show.
  8. None, MLP's not just my favorite cartoon, but my favorite show of all time. Only show that get's close is Doctor Who, but that's not really a cartoon, so it doesn't really matter here. I like a lot of newer and older shows, mostly ones from Cartoon Network, but in the end it's always MLP that I return to and enjoy the most.
  9. The implied death of parents has been around a while, since Season 3 even, though it's only gotten more explicitly implied as time's gone on. Still, I'd argue that no, the show hasn't gotten too melodramatic, especially since all of the episodes you just listed are some of my favorites. Plenty of other kids shows nowadays go even further than what MLP has done, and MLP still keeps things relatively tame and family-friendly in comparison. The implied death is just implied, the parental abuse is a strict mother being far too harsh on her kid and acting like a bad influence, nothing extremely verbally or physically cruel, etc. The more simple episodes of the early years are wonderful for what they are, but I imagine it'd have been difficult to have 7 or more seasons of equally simple stories.
  10. If you don't take risks sometimes you don't get anywhere. I'd rather take a risk and maybe get a few more great seasons of ponies rather than just have the show end early out of paranoia. Even if I didn't like the show anymore, I wouldn't want to take it away if other people still do. You do what you want, if you want to stop watching, or watch everything, or stay cautious, but the show need not end just because a few fans are tired of it, or don't like the possible direction.
  11. Okay, I know you weren't talking to me here, but I feel the need to chime in once again. I keep hearing this argument and I'm finding it a little frustrating. It basically boils down to "What if the show goes bad?!" to which the answer I have is...what if it doesn't? What if it stays strong, what if it get's better than ever? I understand you weren't too fond of Season 6 and that's all fine and dandy, but a lot of other people were too, and season 7 seems to be received pretty well over all. What if we miss out on a good season or two if we end the show early? Yes, there's always a chance the show could go downhill, but it might not. I feel like ending it early out of paranoia is a bit...Well, silly. If you personally end up not liking the show anymore, that's fine, you can quit watching, but why take it away from others? I wouldn't like to see MLP end up like Fairly Odd Parents or Simpsons, no. But I'd also hate to see it ended early out of fear.
  12. I'm just a bad, broken person with far too many problems who makes everyone's lives worse for knowing me.

There isn't such a thing as bad there is only the perception of such born from personal opinion, if someone is accepting as I am then they could listen to your problems though such individuals are rare, it is not a lie to say the day is nice that too is only perception some people like sunny days others prefer cloudy and rainy all just perception and opinions nothing more, if you want to talk about something to someone then talk to me if you want if you want to do something then do so watch television or play video games or watch fanfics, creepypastas, ect

That's not true. A friend listens to somepony's problem so he or she can empathize and find a solution to it all. Sometimes problems can be easily solved when you have friends by your side. That's what we bronies are hear for.

You are correct photon jet us bronys are much more accepting than most it is why we are friends because we can accept eachother and whatever flaws we have no one is free of flaws

  13. Okay, I can understand your complaints about some of those episodes then, but you actually kind of talked about more episodes you liked them in, than ones you disliked them in. There's always some episodes with issues though, I don't think they were deliberately treated badly. Starlight, outside of the Two-parter's didn't even really get that many episodes either. I just don't really understand your feelings on the finale, they just got captured. That doesn't mean the writer's think they're trash or anything like that. They don't always have to be the heroes. I didn't see the mane Six as trash with no value, they just got captured.
  14. I don't really want to judge here, but this seems like such an extreme reaction to me. The Mane Six were captured and not the heroes of one finale...Okay, so what? It doesn't destroy all the development they had previously, it doesn't stop them from being the heroes again in the future. It's just giving other characters a chance to be the heroes for once. Lot's of shows do plots like these, where the main heroes are taken out and somebody else saves them. As for their treatment for the rest of the season...Not really sure what you mean honestly?
  15. Who's to say Season 9 wouldn't be the fan favorite season and beloved by all? I feel like ending the show early just to avoid the chance that there might be a bad season a little bit silly. I want the show to end on a positive note too when it does end, but I don't want to miss out on potentially good seasons just out of the fear something might go wrong.
  16. I didn't really have any issues with the pacing of Celestial Advice honestly, it felt all fine to me, wasn't ever bored during it. The song in All Bottled up was catchy, and that sequence ended with a funny joke, could have been handled slightly better I suppose, but not too bad, and again, I had no problem with Forever Filly. I don't really think cutting anything out would make these better episodes. Royal Problem again doesn't feel too rushed for me, a bit more time for some things would have been nice but it still ended up one of my favorite episodes of the season and possibly if the show anyway, so I really don't have much of an issue with it. The show's always had some level of pacing issues though, with people wishing something had been faster or slower, all the way back to season 1. I'd just be worried about the show losing some of it's audience from a long wait. There are pony fans who aren't really into EQG. Whenever there's a long wait between seasons you inevitably always see the "Oh, it was so long, I just lost interest" comments.
  17. I dunno, I haven't had much of a problem with Season 7 so far. Looking through the episode list I've really only had a problem with about 3 of the 13 episodes I've seen, and even then those weren't too bad. The rest of the season has been great and if it keeps up with the general quality it's had it might compete with Season 5 as my favorite. While I wouldn't mind an EQG TV show, I'm not sure temporarily stopping FIM for it is a great decision.
  18. Season 8 is already announced, unless they can somehow rush production and then cram both the rest of season 7 and all of season 8 in before the movie, that isn't happening.
  19. Why does the show NEED to end? Why can't you just enjoy the new stuff coming out? There's lot's of ideas out there, who cares if you have the occasional bad episode if the majority of them are good? I think Season 7's been mostly pretty great so far, I'm still enjoying this show a ton and am craving more episodes. I can enjoy what we already have, as I've rewatched the show multiple times, but reruns are one thing, new episodes are another.
  20. We've had 3 different Hearth's Warming Eve episodes, so I'd say the series has to take place as of yet at least over 3 years. The episodes don't exactly occur in order though, if things are to make sense at least a few of them have to occur before certain other episodes. Like how in "Tanks For the Memories" RD says it's her first winter with Tank, but previously "Hearth's Warming Eve" came after "May the Best pet win". Equestria Girls if you want to count it only muddles things further though, and the babies ages too. I'd say a bit more than 3 years though. Maybe 3 and a half/4 at most.
  21. I'm fine with this honestly. I really don't care if the Doctor's a man or woman or whatever else, as long as he/she is still the Doctor, I'm cool with it. She looks pretty "Doctor-y" to me too, looking forward to seeing how she does! I can't really think of any reason the Doctor couldn't work as a woman. It's already been established Time Lord's can change sex during Regeneration, and I don't view the Doctor as a particularly "Masculine" character that needs to be a man. His personality tends to change dramatically in some ways during regeneration anyway.
  22. No, and I don't really see why I would. Even if it doesn't sound interesting, or other people say it's not good...What if I end up liking it? That's happened plenty of times before, with not just this show but others, where I've enjoyed an episode I thought sounded kinda dull, or one that was usually disliked by others. It's happened often enough that I've realized it's good to give every episode a shot. Plus, I'm just the kind of person that would be nagged by my thoughts if I did this. "You missed an episode, you missed an episode, what have you done, you fool?" my brain would cry, and cry. Until I give in and watch in order to silence it. Might as well just watch them all anway, I can't even skip any on rewatches.
  23. No, I come to this show for colorful ponies learning the meaning of Friendship with Magical Slice of life adventures, It's a nice escape from reality. Being dark and serious would take away a lot of what makes the show so enjoyable. Sure, I enjoy a good monster attack or evil villain or ancient eldritch beast every now and then for movie's and two-parter's, but I wouldn't want this show turning into something it's not. Leave the really dark and serious stuff to the fanfiction writer's.
  24. Feels like I can't ever apologize enough for things.

  25. Not really, I'm lazy. I like sitting and watching shows and movies and browsing the web and playing video games, not getting up and doing work. I've got little motivation, next to no ambition, and don't tend to take any real pride in a "Job well done". It's actually rather difficult feeling this way, as it doesn't really matter what kind of job or work I do, I'll just end up feeling tired and displeased no matter what, and I can't ever look in the mirror and tell myself "You did good" as no sense of satisfaction from work ever comes.
