  1. Hirsan helped her up off the couch, motioning to a small set of steel doors. The soldiers in the room opened them carefully, a train car just beyond. "Hunter Colonel, while we wish you could have assisted us more, you and the Fabricator Captain were asked for by name by the Council. Step aboard, and you'll be there in a few hours." Hirsan looked back at Ivy Winds, noticing the rank emblazoned on her uniform. "Almost forgot you were a Captain." With that, he stepped aboard, letting Ivy Winds take a seat as he took one opposite her. Frowning, he watched as the train began to speed up, blazing past structural supports like a blur. "Ivy, what do you think of this? The Council summoning us? I mean, they don't summon us for just anything. It has to be something far-reaching for them to summon high-ranking members of any ministry."
  2. [[OOC IS HERE - https://mlpforums.com/topic/157050-lotg-the-praetor-incursion-searchingplanning/]] The wind howled as the truck trundled along, bouncing its two occupants as it rolled its way towards its destination. The driver coughed lightly, staring intently at the road, the darkness barely illuminated by the headlights. Looking to his side, he saw his partner sleeping soundly in the passenger seat, which brought a momentary smile to his face as his eye glowed blue once more. "You do realize what will happen if any of them find out, right? Even Engineer ponies from the Ministry of Fabrication have a duty to uphold." The pony sighed, blinking his eye until the voice stopped talking. Lights blinked into existence from out of the darkness, all centering on the truck. Pressing the brake lightly, he let the truck roll to a stop, turning off the ignition as he slipped out, his hooves lightly impacting on the snow-dusted ground. Several soldiers wielding light rifles, the insignia of the Ministry of War proudly emblazoned upon their uniforms, galloped up to him. Saluting, they carefully removed his passenger, one of them carefully lifting the pony onto his back as they galloped inside, a massive steel door closing behind them as soldiers returned to their rounds. Removing his hood, Hirsan shook his head, letting his dark green mane fall where it would, staring at the soldiers with a bit of a questioning look. "So, any reports of activity along any of the borders?" The soldiers merely shook their heads no as their commanding officer entered. "Hunter Colonel Hirsan Keln, as I live and breathe. Captain Apollo. We met at the War Games last year in Valley Forge." Hirsan chuckled, remembering how the Ministry of War had come out on top in the Games - of course, no shock there. The Ministry of War had won it for the last four years. "Let's just skip the pleasantries, Captain. The scouting mission went well. Barrier generators are still running, though they are getting a rather good boost with heat dissipation due to this inclement weather." He rubbed his own body, shivering slightly. His partner, still bundled up in winter Fabricator gear, slumbered on the nearby couch. He shook his head, slowly walking over to the couch. Tapping the pony on the head, he sighed, raising an eyebrow. "Ivy Winds. Hey, Ivy, up and at 'em. We're at the outpost in Beta Sector."
  3. Well, to those who applied, I will be posting the actual RP thread soon. Life kind of took a nosedive for a bit when I got sick, and I currently have to see a doctor soon. I am also building a new computer, so I may not be on for a bit. Now, this is the current breakdown for you guys: GC: Hirsan Keln Ivy Winds Equestria: BlindEye Copper Strikes I'll be posting the RP thread tomorrow after work, so, sorry about being so silent for a bit, mates!
  4. To Manard and Ironwood, I'm going to keep waiting while you guys get around to posting again.
  5. Hey, no problem. You're one of the few people that actually read the initial post, and put a character in here using the aforementioned character sheet, so thanks. It's all right. I'm not worried, I'm just finishing up a 3 year RP that should have been done LAST YEAR, but the site we were on went down, and I had to ask the site's admin for the RP archive. Legend of the Guardians had so many characters, so many adventures, and I wanted to share it with everyone, so I have patience.
  6. Hidalgo wandered forward, noticing conical protrusions from under the snow, as if they were standing on ruins. He kicked away some snow, revealing a plaque, partially broken, leaving 'In Memory of' where the name was barely able to be read. He looked up, trying to squint through the snow and ice. "Flare, Strikes, keep within sight distance, but spread out and see what you can find. I'd like to know exactly where we are currently standing." Hidalgo stepped around, making sure his proximity beacon was still beeping. He looked over at Bowie, who seemed interested in one of the spires. "Wait, Bowie, don't-" As he stood there, the 'snow' collapsed underneath them, sending all four down into a dark, dark cavern. Hidalgo stood up, looking around before lighting up a torch. Shining the beam around, he counted in his head. "Everyone all right? Got all your extremities?"
  7. Rolle, if you didn't get the message, you're in. I'm still waiting for at least two more people to join, one on the Equestrian side, and one on the Great Canyon side.
  8. Rearguard took a knife from another soldier, carving Fleet's name into the stone. "We should hold this as a memorial, for any who pass, that this is Whitewing Cave, where the last original Guardian fell. The Guardians are no more. The Elements are no more." "How then, milady, are we to proceed?" Rearguard turned and looked at the Equestrian that had asked. "We move posthaste to Unterlot Caverns. Once there, we'll at least attempt to set up some kind of shelter. Who knows how long that blizzard will last for?"
  9. So busy, so little time to do anything. my secret project MUST BE DONE!

  10. Okay, I'll accept the GC one based on principle: everyone can roleplay. The branch you're looking for is Fabrication, for engineering. Now, here's a little thing I AM going to hound you on: tenses. You NEED to work on your tenses.
  11. All right. It's an interesting start. PM me, and I'd like to see how you roleplay as your character. (This is to gauge what kind of roleplayer you are, and to give you pointers on improving.) Okay, Reader8363 I'm going to be honest, another character may be in order. LOTG, before Legend of the Guardians, tends to be more pony based. Sorry. However, your character might fit in better in Cold-Hearted Resonance. I'd recommend you going through the character sheet in Cold-Hearted Resonance, where it's a freedom of characters, TO A POINT. Here's a link for you: https://mlpforums.com/topic/154530-lotg-cold-hearted-resonance/?p=4602603
  12. Hidalgo motioned to Bowie, pointing towards what appeared to be spires several kilometers away. Boulders seemed to be strewn about, though the wind seemed to move them as it slammed around, the snow biting against any part unprotected. "That's the best place to start. Every team was sent out with the express mission of finding something to beat back the winter, protect the Dwelling from freezing over. This area, though... something feels VERY familiar about it."
  13. Hey, DWhite! Okay! I like that! Copper Strikes is in! Here's an example for the Great Canyon character sheet, the character that will be interacting with all of yours. Okay. I will be honest, your character sheet was... a little hard to read. With a little bit of editing, it'll be easier to read and glean more information from. I am going to ask you to use the one I provided in the OP, just for simplicity's sake, and so I can also properly save a copy as I do with everyone's characters when they sign up for one of my RPs.
  14. Do you need some help with editing?
  15. Well, okay then. We all know Equestria's story, the rise and fall of many of its heroes, but what is this Great Canyon? How did they come to be? This is a long little backstory, but enjoy. That's more than I ever expected to be writing in a while. Myself, and the two involved in Legend of the Guardians, had two other RPs that happened on the defunct site Canterlot.net, which were all tied into the storyline of Legend of the Guardians. It's a massive RP undertaking that's taken almost three years to build to this point, where you could use one of our RPs, and turn it, with some editing and formatting, into a rather impressive fanfic series. But every story needs the starting point, and that's where The Praetor Incursion comes in. The story of how the ball got rolling in the first place, how Great Canyon ended up becoming a partner of Equestria, and the events that caused it all. This is one of many RPs to take place between the Host War and an RP known simply as The Cycle War.
  16. RP IS HERE: https://mlpforums.com/topic/158243-lotg-the-praetor-incursion/ For anyone who knows me, I've got an expansive little RP "universe" that surrounds a group of rebels fighting an almost never-ending war that seems to bring endless pain and suffering to the entire planet. They are the Guardians, final holders of the Elements of Harmony, becoming the Elements of Justice, in a war (We never ACTUALLY had a new name for the elements, so I took that as the "official" name for the reformed Elements.) Anyways, we're not here to discuss the Guardians, nor are we here to discuss that war. Instead, welcome to the beginning of the story, the day that Hirsan Keln stepped outside of his home country, the day that Twilight Sparkle learned that magic is not the only driving force in the world. So, now that you know what the story is, how about we get started? There are the two sides in this story: Great Canyon, and Equestria. For those who might want to be Great Canyon ponies, here's a character sheet to use: Agency Branches Reference Chart We also have the Equestrian Character sheet, which is by no means any smaller for references. After one character posted, I'd like to point out one thing. Unfortunately, this RP is for equine-type races only. Sorry to those wanting to bring their awesome OCs in. There's a lot of cool characters, but things like hybrids, species that cannot be quantified properly, and other such beings are a lot harder to keep track of. Once again, sorry. Oh, as a final note, there will be no alicorn OCs allowed. That may make some of you mad, but I will be needing people to control not only their own characters, but that of Celestia and Luna as well. Welcome to the Praetor Incursion, everyone. Non-OCs: Celestia - Luna - Twilight Sparkle - OCs: Hirsan Keln - [FullMetalParagon] Copper Strikes - [DWhitetheGamer] Ivy Winds - [reader8363] BlindEye - [rolle] NOTE: Godmodding will not be allowed. You RP with these, you play to lose. I do so as well, and I hold by that statute. That being said, ANY AND ALL Godmodding will be met with the harshest penalty I can give to an RP'er - REMOVAL FROM RP.
  17. It's been a while since anyone posted in the thread. I'm unsure if that means that people have lost interest, and I did reply in the main roleplay thread. Anyways, Legend of the Guardians is almost at the start point of Cold Hearted Resonance, which means that we'll have more of the backstory of Cold Hearted Resonance, which also means the expansive world of Legend of the Guardians is going to be even bigger.
  18. Rearguard looked at the cavern walls, running her hoof along grooves in the wall. "I once came here as a young filly, mapping out the caverns with Deadwood, one of the few Equestrians allowed inside Great Canyon before the war. I loved to hear him talk about where he had been, what he had mapped. Ah, there it is. The mark he had me make." With a quick twist, she removed the stone in the wall, a boulder sliding out of place. Motioning to the other ponies there, she took a flashlight from one of the surviving guards, shining it straight down. "It's a long walk from here, but we'll be able to make it. There's a small camp with fabrication facilities once we reach Unterlot Cavern." She looked back, her eyes darting back and forth until she noticed somepony that was not there. "Where's Fleet Whitewing?" She turned around, looking at the various ponies around. Entering the cave tunnel, she was stopped by a pony corpse, a pegasus. The name on the uniform gave everything she needed to know. In front of her, lost for years, was Fleet Whitewing, one of the Guardians from during the Cycle War.
  19. I have a secret project that I'll be unveiling AT BronyCAN next year, if everything pans out. Random images on my twitter feed make people confused, but soon, they'll piece it together.
  20. Rearguard stared out the window, her expression devoid of emotion. Bodies lay on the grounds outside, the sun barely holding back the advance of the snow. Standing up, she turned to those who still stood, her eyes filled with a sadness very few would ever feel. "A pyrrhic victory at best, Imp. But the snow, it still comes." The window slammed open, a cold wind blowing through as the clouds once more covered the sun, blocking out the light. Several soldiers came running in, led by a Canyon soldier. "Captain Rearguard, ma'am! The Chancellor, he's-" She whipped around, staring them directly in the eye. Her anger at the Canyon soldier and his compatriots made him wane quickly, crawling backwards along the ground. "Dead, I know. Tell me, where is the nearest safe zone?" "The U-Unterlot Cavern, but I don't see-" "Get every soldier together, get everypony you can down there. We have to get out of the path of this storm." "But ma'am, that is several kilometers outside of Canterlot!" Rearguard stared at them, her gaze wearing them down. "Get. Them. Into. That. Cavern. Now!"
  21. Rearguard tried to get up, slowly crawling towards the glowing sword when a hoof stepped in her way. The hooded cloak over his head, the black vest he never seemed to be rid of, and the glint in his eyes that he had a plan. Deadwood stepped towards Celestia, his smile fading as he looked her over. "A lot of my friends died today, Celestia. They gave their lives to get this here." He glanced over at Skytracker, scrambling in the corner as she fought with a tentacle that was slowly wrapping around her. In a flurry of motion, he dived to the side, the sword sliding into his hoof. "Hirsan told me a while ago about the Sword, and the deadly cost of using it." It began to glow as he lifted it, heavy chanting filling the air. "This sword uses the very essence of the one that wields it to fuel a massive attack that will stop any opponent, but at the cost of the wielder's life. Hirsan was planning to use it, but he's gone." Deadwood looked back at his friends, all of the ones who were still standing. He stared down at Celestia, tears falling from his eyes. "I give my life, so that you may be free, Celestia." With a stabbing motion, Deadwood began to glow, the room filling with a massive burst of energy, flecks of light floating off of Deadwood as a shadow lifted from Celestia. He smiled at Skytracker as a glowing spirit detached from him, floating over to her. "I'm sorry about what's going to happen, but this happens. This happened before, and it will happen again. One sacrifices themselves for the good of all so that the many may survive, even if an eternal winter is what we have to look forward to." With a flash, Deadwood disappeared, along with the Sword and Hirsan's spirit.
  22. Sorry that almost a month has passed since last reply. I've been on this site so little due to 3 things: BronyCAN came and went, and I was out of town for that, work has been getting rather hectic lately, and I've started work on a project I can't say much about right now due to the fact it's not even close to being revealed yet.
  23. Hidalgo drew his clothing around himself, tightening down his winter gear as he motioned for them to move ahead, the wind starting to pick up as the howling became worse and worse. He could see the others following closely behind as he watched the doors close behind them. With a stare, he looked into the white wasteland that had once been green, a mere fifteen years before. "They entrusted us, and now we go to find our destiny."
