  1. I need to listen to more Ensiferum. I only really know this one song:

I have an album from Amon Amarth and intend to get another one soon but I don't know which one I want. I have Surtur Rising. Recommendations anyone? Also, this song is pretty much godmode:

From my own personal taste in this genre I would have to say, if you like folk black metal stick with ensiferum, but if you like the nordic viking stuff I'd recommend Heidevolk.

Sure they speak Dutch like 100% of the time, but the lead singer has a very "strongman-like" voice that gives each of their tracks a certain Nordic vikingish flavor.

You'll know what I mean when you hear this track.

  2. Folk and Viking Metal are both under the umbrella genre "Pagan Metal".

Viking Metal focuses allot on Viking paganism in the lyrics while Folk Metal tries to blend Folk Music with heavy metal.

Both pretty much follow the same style though.

One trait that these genres both share are the lyrical mentions of medieval era battle and war.

Sometimes it's hard to tell the difference between the two really.

Thing is though, some of the most badass tracks of heavy metal music that I've listened to personally have come straight out of these two genres.

"Ensiferum", which literally translates to "sword bearer", is one of my favorite Folk Metal bands,.

They blend Black Metal (which is also a pagan metal genre) and Folk Metal together to give a dark war-like theme to their music.

That's just one of their tracks.

A personal favorite of mine from them is "Into Battle".

Anyways, is anyone else familiar with Pagan Metal?

    Or at least interested?

  3. My accent is very faint; so much so that I don't even notice it at times.

It's an accent that comes from the city I grew up and am currently living in; Rochester, NY.

I apparently put more of an emphasis on o's, r's, and a's than most people from other places of the U.S.

  4. I love Civ5, definitely one of my favorite strategy games. I've been watching people play Civ6, it looks pretty fun, but I'll stick to 5 for the time being. There's just so much content in that game that I still haven't tried out~ I have vague memories of playing Civ4 in the past too, but that was only 1-2 games.

    I've been playing Civ5 a lot with @JonasDarkmane too. Germany/Russia combo strong!

I recently started a new modded game. I put every single Civ in there and enabled only Domination victory. So far, the biggest and slowest mach I've ever had. :P

Playing on lowest settings and strategic view because the game implodes if I play otherwise. :derp: 14 Capitals down, 29 to go!

I've played on the world map, on huge, 22 nations, 28 city-states, domination victory only, with Epic time settings.

After the turn of the 24th century, half of asia and europe was a nuclear fallout with the only countries left being France and America (me).

Rest assure, the save file eventually crashed my computer towards the end of the game.

  5. I still have Civilization II, and play it pretty often too. Hipster. :P

But I mostly play Civ III. Best game took me 5 days, playing as Alexander the Great of Greece, with 10 nations. The only way to win was to wipe out everyone, and I did so mostly in the ancient to medieval eras.

Nuking 7 cities in one turn is the best way to declare war. :3

It's also a good tactical move too.

There could be reinforcements hiding in the cities.

  6. I really like Civ 5 and continue to play it till this day.

My longest game took over 40 hours long to finish.

I played as George Washington and I used the world map on Huge with 12 countries.

I erased every possible victory except domination making it impossible for any nation to permanently be at peace with their allies.

The game lasted up into the century 2300, and ended with a world-wide nuclear war between France and America (me).

Seriously towards the end, a nuke was less as inexpensive as a warrior at the beginning of the game in comparison to how stupid rich I was.

I felt like I was playing god wiping out five cities in one turn, and building new ones right over the ruins.

It was the most fun I've ever gotten out of that game and I'm going to play it again soon.

So does anyone else play any games in the Civ series?

  7. It matters by what races looks sexier in UNP. (jk)

Anyways, I often play as a Breton for the 25% magic resistance and the Dragonskin Ability which allows you to absorb 50% of spells.

For any class these two aspects of the Breton are pretty powerful, but playing as this race as destruction mage makes killing dragon priests a snap.

I mean, as long as you're going up against any magic user and you haven't used the Dragonskin ability that day, you practically have a source of unlimited magika.

(this is how it is in the game Skyrim)

  8. Bioshock Infinite.

I'm trying to re-beat it on 1999 mode and dang this game is a pain in the ass.

Portal. I had beaten it before, but I was going through it again to find all the radio transmissions.

I might have to do it again to kill all the GLaDOS cameras.

    Isn't that an achievement?

    lol.

  9. My favorite metal band comes straight from the Pagan Metal genre.

    Ensiferum.

I'm sure at least some of you have heard "Into Battle".

It's one of their most well known tracks.

  10. I originally joined this site and used it for a year as a brony originally.

As my interests shifted, I stopped watching the show and eventually stopped talking about it all together.

However, I still use this site do to it's active community, and post on non-mlp related forum categories.

Are there any others who use this site for it's community alone?

  11. I have a broad taste in music; basically I like a little bit of everything.

I like the fact that I'm able to enjoy dark and dirty humor, as long as it's funny.

And lastly, I like the fact and find it a bit comical that I embody my own sexual preference towards men.

I'm lean, white, tone, normal height, dark brown hair (almost black), brown eyes, a nice clean shaven face, and little to no acne.

These are all the characteristics of men that fall into my range of preference, and are traits that I poses as well.

So basically, I find myself attractive which is kinda weird, and I'm not sure... exactly what that says about myself as person.
