Ninjitsu sounds very interesting.

Martial arts I'm interested in would be Krav Maga, and 52 Blocks for practical self defense.

For Internal stuff I would go with Tai Chi.

For physical conditioning I would go with Shaolin Kung-Fu (takes a lifetime)

For weapons, Escrima.

This leads me to believe that rather than genuine faith or even a thought experiment, you are deliberately attacking your perception of what organized religion is. That could be me projecting however, you could be making fun of those bronies who are in favor of one Princess to seemingly dogmatic exclusion.

My base style was Kenpo Karate, then I practiced German Longsword tradition, then aikido, and Tai Chi very briefly. These days, with lack of an easily reachable school, I'm just trying to stay in practice with the forms I know and try to at least familiarize myself with other styles through reading.

I know how you feel about lack of schools in reach, though. I think there was one in my town, tiny dojo, but I don't know if its still there.

And yes, the best self defense is knowing how to avoid a fight in the first place.

I really really doubt that I'll have nunchucks or a bo staff on the day I do get into one. Nunchucks aren't street legal anyways.

I practice freestyle nunchaku and bojitsu.

I would hardly qualify myself as battle ready, its mostly exercise for me.

I find it funny that I hit myself less with nunchaku than that broom handle I use.

There is also some african tribes that have two or three color words. The word for red would apply for orange and yellow, while the word for blue would apply to all cool colors.

A few other thoughts.

When dealing with a language that has a minimalist alphabet or phonetic table (like Polynesian languages) reduplication can be employed to expand vocabulary. Do you think there may be a place for this trait in the Unicorn language? Would it be necessary?

Also, I gave some thought to you choice of consonants. You have a choice between expressing a plosive phonetic or a stopping phonetic in some of your hieroglyphs. Have you given any thought to having the pronunciation of either the plosive or stop indicative of mood or some other grammatical function?

Just a thought...might just be adding uneeded bells and whistles.

That is informative, however a wee bit too technical for me to digest and practically apply.

I work intuitively from reference, though some of the things I'm trying to do aren't really in my references.

One of my issues in the other thing that I'm working on is casting hard shadows from direct lighting. I this leg that casts a hard shadow on another figure, but it makes the figure look way too flat.

Maybe its my layer order, or just not planning ahead better, I dunno.

While I can't show that picture, maybe there are some things that could be worked with on my orange guy that'll help me understand how some of light angles work better.

Reference is important, but it seems with the particular combination of figure placement and lighting, I can't find an appropriate reference.

I could say screw it and go with a different lighting or minimal cel shading, but I'm trying to do something advanced.

My main problem is understanding how certain lighting angles work with cel shading. I've looked at many artists and seen many variations of cel shading styles, however it seems that i'm only capable of doing the simplest of things.

Personally, I'm always one to encourage conlang, so I think you should continue making the unicorn language from scratch.

There may indeed be an existing code, or it might be coincidence. Even if there is, it probably hasn't been fully fleshed out yet, and was probably something an artist decided to do on the fly...or perhaps Lauren Faust has all the secrets locked in her head, who knows?

What I do know, is that trying to make the Unicorn language fit perfectly into what you cracked so far, may be nigh impossible given that we don't have a whole lot of canon use of unicorn text to work with.

Weighing the cons and pros of making the unicorn language fit perfectly into the code or just running with what you have, I'd say you should probably run with what you have. You have a chance to make a whole new conlang. This in itself is a rewarding experience, and would no doubt add a whole new layer to the collective headcanons of the fandom, especially fanfic writers.

If you try to take what you're working on just to fit into this code that may or not be really there, I think you're setting yourself up for more frustration than its worth.

This is just an opinion of an artist though. I'm a little bit more biased to productive creative works, than analytical reverse engineering.

Going over this again, I really like the way you figured out how to make a system that compacts so much meaning into 10 syllables.

The issue I have is...how do I know when to read something as a vowel vs a consonant?

[star, Horse] could either read as [am, nak, or nag.]

There might be an inconsistency because in your graph on the post has "you" just being the horse, and in the website its [star, horse] but that might have to do with gender if I'm reading everything right.

Still...doesn't hurt as much as it does for a dyslexic trying to read tengwar.

alright mine isn't as dark as DJPON-3's but its still pretty dark gather around everypony and I will tell you my life in a nutshell

 

my mother and father are from completely opposite sides of the country so I was rasied in a weird mixture of Californian and Virginian but I was well disciplined because of it

 

my entire life I thought I had the perfect life I had everything I could of wanted toys, a mountain of video games, and about 7 gaming consoles

 

fast forwarding to when I was 13 my mother attempted to kill herself in front of my sister and I we called 911 she was saved but we had to move in with our father

 

fast forwarding another year our mother seemed stable so we moved back in with her it was a huge mistake... my 15th birthday had come we were waiting for her so we could celebrate she didn't return until it was late she was drunk so we didn't do anything

 

me my mother and my sister moved into a bigger apartment and everything was going fine that was where I started my career as a YouTuber and I made videos to entertain the public my life seemed perfect again

 

but my mother kept drinking and she said things to me I was and still am very sensitive and one day she said something to me she said "I was going to beat my wife and be known as a criminal" I decided to hang myself for that but I didn't do it my friends in the Ponygames Guild helped me out of it but it wasn't enough

 

I went over to my bestfriends house to visit him and he introduced me to My Little Pony Friendship is Magic I thought pretty negatively about it then much later my curiosity couldn't bear it any longer I looked up S1 E1 and then later I joined the fandom

 

my mother found out I was a Brony and would constantly call me gay and treat me as if I was

 

much later my mother eventually snapped and physically harmed my sister I grabbed her and threw her in the ground I never wanted to do such a thing but I felt like I had no choice

 

my father found out about this so we moved back in with him

 

in the beginning of my Junior year in high school my dad got full custody of me and my sister and the judge even put a restraining so we cannot see our mother until we are 18

 

my mothers reaction to that she said "I will see then when they are adults" never in my life had I been so pissed off to hear such a thing

 

my stepmom then told us what our mother really was... she is a whore she slept with many men while married with my father, she drugged my sister and I with cold medicine so she could go party, and to top it all off.... she never loved us she only loved the child support funds 

 

I had always wondered why my older sister ran away when I was 8 now it is crystal clear

 

the most recent thing that has happened is on the day of my 17th birthday (2 days before I joined the Forums) she got arrested

 

now I live with my father and my stepmom with my sister my half sister and my step brother I'm living a good life and I wouldn't trade it for anything (except to go to Equestria maybe)

 

that is my backstory

 

also a side note if you look through some of my first videos you may hear my mother yelling at me in some of them especially my last podcast I made

I personally never got to know my mother.

Fact is, she was more than likely murdered.

I was probably two at the time when my mother stepped out of the Pizza Inn that she worked at. She disappeared completely. The fact that she only stepped out for a few minutes and that she never came back to collect her check for the night, suggests fowl play.

It's been a cold case for a very long time.

More than likely had to do with drugs (I'm not really sure, no one is). My mother was known to be a party animal and she and my father were into the 'biker' scene at the time.

Seriously though, we had Luna as Nightmare Moon in the first two episodes of Season 1. What would it be like if Celestia was a/the villain in either season 5, or just in general?
