I will add flames to all legs to see how it looks then
 

I drew a bit of flame on all the legs. It does look cool, but on the other hand, the legs lose a bit of form.

But it's SOOOO unrealistic! Waaugh! My Aesthetics!

 Well, for one, I'm all for a Flame Decal Pony. I still am, of course, of the opinion that the ear/neck trim oughta be more fuzzy, but you've convinced me on the hoof part of it. You did say it would be more of a congealed, solid mass so that does make sense. The trouble there though, is that think of it like it would be a raised, almost filigree design rising up from the top lip of a set of high-fashion boots (and, really, why is that not more of a thing! I want my flame-top boots!) that goes around a bendable, almost in constant motion section of the creature. Regular movement would wear those designs down, especially if you intend for this to be a living creature moreso than just a design method. Hmmm... in fact, if those flame-spikes regrow back consistently wouldn't that then leave sort of small clouds of debris then coming off those Inflamed Fetlocks, much akin to small puffs of smoke?

    Hmm... Firelocks?...Fetflames?

I'm still for the Flame-version
