    AI Art Forum

Computer Assisted Creations is a subforum that will be separate from Octavia’s Hall that will be exclusively for posting, admiring, and experimenting with AI generated creations. As this appears to be more than an ephemeral internet fad, we wanted to create a place to post these works away from the traditional artwork and creations found in OH. The forum location may change but for now it’s location is in Beyond Equestria to allow for non-Pony art. Have fun showcasing what you can come up with.
  3. Welcome to Computer Assisted Creations, a stand-alone area dedicated to our users interested in learning and showcasing AI Art, Pony Creator, and other non traditional artistic works that were greatly helped by artificial intelligence and software. All Global Rules are in force here. Please be respectful of the users sharing their creations here. If AI Art isn’t your thing, that’s perfectly fine, but this isn’t the place of platform to discuss that. Have fun guys!

  6. Everything fits. Bow and wing need adjustments. Prosthetics need adjustments. Forgot to put on the belt. This is sans makeup. And yes I now have wings. Need to affix the cutie mark.
  7. Two entries so far and a little over a week remaining
  8. User hasn’t been here in a while. That word is 100% offensive. Huh, I what does this button do? Says press if slur is used *presses
  9. Just to be clear, the current policy on this situation, and the only policy on this situation, and one of our longest standing changes is that duplicate topics are 100% acceptable. More to that they are encouraged. This was a change made in 2015, that was eight years ago. The only time we would act on duplicate topics is if one was literally just made, or if it’s a common topic that has a Mega-Thread. If there is a large 16 page topic buried in the site, you are not expected, as a user, to search for it. Most of the staff should want new content posted. Back then we used to tell users to “Just use the search” and that was an absurd response because the search is often unreliable. In fact Mods have the ability to use a tool to split off a overgrown topic because a large topic isn’t always a good thing. Most users won’t sit there are read a six years of history and then reply. Trying to direct people into these old topics sacrifices organic discussion, convenience, and fun for organization. Actually, that’s even a self defeating principle in some topics. In the FiM discussion there is a Best Pony topic that is pinned. It’s huge and the poll insufficient for an ongoing show with new characters always being introduced. We even have a Shipping mega thread, which is very curious because shipping is itself capable of being so many nuanced topics that while sharing the same proto idea of character romance, it almost stifles creativity by existing. @Star heart 777 post away! Be fruitful and multiply these honse threads.
  10. True, but the means for fast communication existed in the form of the telegraph. Lincoln was known to stand by the telegraph station for close to real-time reports at some key battles. At least the North did. Lee and others often relied on Calvary. Not the Model 1861. The 1855 that used tape was known as unreliable, but Springfields 1861 model was insanely sophisticated for its time. The rifled shot increased accuracy and range easily allowing a deadly kill. They were so accurate and deadly that they ultimately made formations a bloodbath. They didn’t just pass through you, they obliterated everything around any bony surface they met. Good movie, but plays fast and loose with history for dramatic effect. Especially the battle scenes. Too clean. Way too clean. One day they will make a Civil War film that accurately depicts the horrors of the Wilderness, Fredericksburg, Pickett’s Charge, and Cold Harbor. Read the letters from soldiers to non-family where they can be honest and not give false hope. This was the case at the beginning of the war, and during Grant’s campaign against the Army of N. VA. In many cases battles were lost and won based more on careful positioning of Brigades on well scouted topography. Most of the bloodshed in the early war was due to hubris. And some engagements were won more easily with less bloodshed by almost elementary textbook maneuvers like Chamberlain’s modifications of the diversion to recover casualties on Little Round Top. Fixed bayonet, sloped right wheel charge is basic. For Grant, the bloodshed wasn’t due to poor tactics and tactics that were outpaced by artillery and munitions evolutions, but due to his strategy at just throwing bodies at the enemy in numbers that never seemed to end and following Lee relentlessly. He knew he had more soldiers in the wings than Lee, so it was a matter of time. To Lee, the old formations fit within his strategic plan because the accuracy of the rifles at 500 yards was deadly the opposing lines and charges. He could replace casualties (dead and injured) but Lee couldn’t… especially with Sherman keeping other Armies busy. Basically, there was more to the battles than lining up divisions and sending them forward by companies within regiments. Now, the one great advancement in battlefield tactics was from the USC’s effective use of Calvary forces, and even some more timely use of Artillery. Some of the battles would have looked similar to Normandy in WW2. A Very Bloody Affair indeed.
  11. A more descriptive title would probably be better for these. I have to see what the configuration is to find an appropriate name for them.
  12. My original avatar! It still makes me smile :please:

  13. I was attempting to chase down the profile template issue before I leave. I’ll turn everything back.

    All Good Things …

Effective April 10th, by 9th anniversary of jointing this forum, I will be permanently stepping down as a Community Administrator here, and quietly riding off into the sunset as a member of this wonderful community. I’m taking measures so that my discord account will be inaccessible to me. Only four people on here have my current one. My time here as a member of MLPF was a remarkable one. I have met my closest friends, people who I will continue to engage long after I leave this site. Since 2015 I’ve worked hard in trying to soften moderation, create events, and promote an idea of being comfortable in your own skin on and off staff. Doing what you can to assist, even in small ways. I hope my legacy will be that I was at least fair. I will miss many of you. There is a list far too long to create of users over the last nine years that I enjoyed interacting with. I will keep my many memories close to my heart and soul and smile when I think of them. On my last day I will make one final post in the Rarity Fan Club and poof.
  15. @Star heart 777 When I first joined this forum back in 2014, what drew me in at first was the thoughtful posts by the community, whether it was an in-depth character analysis, insightful theorycrafting, or well intentioned critiques of plot point. The site can absolutely benefit from more of that. While others may have posted about those items, unless it is a mega thread, you can make a fresh topic about it. These new posts usually have a different angle because the entirety of FiM has aired and been written. New content is also great for SEO.
  16. It’s starting to come together. For those that are new, as we raised over $2000 for BC Children’s Hospital the community voted for me to cosplay as Cozy Glow. This is what I have already. There are a few other items. I’ve decided to age up Cozy Glow because playing a character that young seems … all sorts of problematic. There will me a makeup element as well. The con is a few weeks away. This is going to be … amusing for many of you … I’m sure. All for a good cause I suppose.
  17. @SIgmaBETA I moved this over to media discussion. I do enjoy topics that are not just “what do you think about X property?” And this scratches that itch. I will say that the recent Beasts movies do a better job in drawing a comparison to scapegoating and fascism, whereas the pureblood totalitarian regime that Voldemort wants has some other curious connections. The fact that Tom Riddle himself was a halfblood is one of the better Hitler parallels.
  18. I’m going to allow this before I move it to media. There are some interesting parallels in the Harry Potter source material that would allow for a deep historical dive. The only request I have is to try keep this focused on the Potter universe.
  19. BABSCON 2023 GETS POWERFUL WITH CHARLOTTE FULLERTON! Published on Mar 16, 2023 Nostalgic for those earlier days of My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic? How about we bring back an amazing writer from the first half of the series for you. To that end, BABSCon is thrilled to announce that we have the purveyor of Power Ponies herself, Charlotte Fullerton, joining us this year! Charlotte wrote some truly beloved episodes of MLP:FiM, including “May the Best Pet Win!”, “Suited For Success”, and “Power Ponies”, among others. She also contributed heavily to the Ben 10 franchise, writing episodes across its several TV series, plus videogames, chapter books, and comics. Additionally, Charlotte remains committed to continuing her late husband, Dwayne McDuffie’s legacy of artistic excellence and diversity through the The Dwayne McDuffie Fund. Follow her on Facebook and Twitter. Charlotte joins Guests of Honor Katrina Salisbury, Sarah-Nicole Robles, Tony Fleecs, Thom Zahler, and more yet to come! So register now and book your hotel roomfor this April 7–9 as we indulge in nostalgia at BABSCon 2023. We’re also always looking for volunteers. (Art by MidnightPremiere)
  20. Luckily I don’t have to wait in line long as a sponsor. So this isn’t much of a big headache for me
  21. The only team that matters is 13. Just to clarify, all individuals who submit a complete bracket will receive this Achievement The person with the most accurate bracket will get the Golden Horseshoe March Madness parallel badge as well.
  22. Love the books, the films, the Universal attraction, and the recent game. Since this is specifically tagged as a book, I still enjoy visiting them for the additional scenes and narrative that they couldn’t or didn’t fit into the films. Though not entirely novel in its approach (pun intended), I quite enjoyed how small mysteries or asides would become larger plot points in a later entry. Hagrid not being able to cast magic legally, Harry being a parslemouth, Scabbers, and the look that Dumbledote gives Harry at the end in Goblet of Fire. All hinted at something unsaid and were paid off excellently in later stories. By the fifth boom readers were trained to look for these and could start to find clues and theorycraft expertly.
  23. I was aware of this topic when it was posted, but I didn’t jump in because I didn’t feel the need to take the OP down a peg. I used to run a fairly large Star Wars RP forum, and have written Masters level Theses on both the accidental and intentional genius of this fantasy epic. Also, Star Wars shares more in common with Le Morte d’Authur than Stranger in a Strange Land.* *How do you say “Star Wars is not Science Fiction” without saying “Star Wars is not Science Fiction”
  24. Not the next FiM for many reasons, but it’s a quality children’s show that is rather clever in how it analyzes how children unpack the world they experience through play.
  25. By the end of Season 2 the writers had no idea what or if anything would exist after Season 3 and if they would ever get a chance to use Cheeselegs again. No master plan at the time of her introduction. The IDW depictions and constant fandom requests to see a return helped her stay in the forefront, and when an opportunity to return to her organically they did. I don’t know what Jim and Nicole have said regarding when they decided to make the run to the Legion of Doom arc, but knowing how fluid some of the decisions on the show were, I have a feeling that the seed existed in Season Six but not any real story idea yet. Her rejecting love and friendship fits a theme though. Starlight went out of her way to connect with former antagonists and this one failure allows a thematic juxtaposition with Trixie. Also, earlier fandom stories wrote her has a ‘cursed’ individual or sorts having to feed for her children. While mostly implied, to have Thorax be the leader, she had to be as evil as possible. The easiest way to write that without confusion would be to double down on her malevolence and push the new Bug King.
