    • That moral ... that it is OK to not like something ... was well played.

    • References to Filli Vanilli and Bats were nice.

    • 4chan is cannon

    • I saw Goody Fluttershy compacting with the Devil (bunny).

    • The haunted tea party has some really insightful peeks into Fluttershy's psychology and can be read a few different ways. She actually did spend time thinking up things she knew would frighten or trouble her friends and based it around something that gives herself some comfort.

    • Rarity and Pinkies subtle reactions were nice too.

    • Angel is a bastard. You know it was him that thought up the Granny scare!

    • Episode was fun, I approve.

  1. Owl's Well That Ends Well - This was mentioned in a skype chat before I saw this blog.

[3:36:52 PM] Jeric: Worst episodes to me are the few that bore me, not the episodes that have inconsistent writing
[3:37:49 PM | Edited 3:38:12 PM] Jeric: Owl's Well That Ends Well has the notable distinction as the only episode in the series I never finished
[3:39:01 PM] Jeric: I skipped it 10 mins in during my marathon

[3:40:50 PM] Jeric: A boring episode is the unforgivable sin.

I want on to say that two of Spike's Episodes had me actively wanting the episode to end. This is the worst think I can ever say about an entertainment property. This isn't to say I hate the character. He has plenty of moments I enjoy when the story doesn't place him in a prominent role. But man ...

  2. I do believe you have a 7th game world series walk off with this review. That includes the Staff of Sameness naming which is the only small flaw in an near perfect story. My opinion is skewed a little from the BABS screening, but I personally adored the episode.

You already know my opinion on you doing videos reviews. Campfire!

  3. The weird thing is I think all the writers on the comic series take the easy way out with Rares at times. At least in the show you know which writers shouldn't touch her with a 40 foot pole going in. Here, it's as if when the character isn't the focus - they don't try.

When they Put Rarity front and center and they tend to get her right. The FF series does at least.

  4. There are times when I think the comic writers nail the characters, and there are others when they drop the ball dramatically. Then you have the frustrating moments when they have a tantalizing idea like giving Rarity a motivating fear of being forgotten and not needed, only to use that great character driven aspect to create a one-note villain.

They do this with RD too, but instead of focusing too much on a stereotype, they make her comic relief and foul too often which (IMO) turns her into a completely marginalized character. Then there is Twilight. I honestly thik they don't know what to do with her at this point.

I do still read and enjoy them, and when they nail Rarity the hit the ball out of the park. The frustration is still there though.
